Last month, my friend invited me to go to Water World California with him, which I was pretty hyped up about because Ive always wanted to visit this park, so it was cool that I final got the chance! Water World is a medium sized park in Concord, CA, which isn't to far from San Francisco. It is a nice park with some pretty good slides and a great activity pool! The biggest problem was that the operations were can range from good to bad, depending and the life Gard. Some times its just normal operations, but sometimes, they waited until the other tube or rider reaches the bottom of the slide just put let you in the loading area(or what ever you call it), and you still had wait to even go down the slide after that! But besides that, water world a great park and I think you should really pay a visit when your in the area! Now, on to the photos- We're here at Water World! That's a good thing to know.. The parks has a nice entrance What the heck is that?!! This is Big Kahuna, its one of the parks star attractions, but unfortunately, it was closed all day due to a broken conveyer belt. The wave pool was fun, but many of my friends told me that the waves in this pool where like giant 7-10 ft waves, but they only were a good 3-5 feet! That's a big funnel!! This is actually part of the wave pool I thought the Honolulu Half pipe was a lot of fun, but my friend thought it was boring. Here's the sign for ya! And here the sign for Big Kahuna even though its closed! The lazy river reminded me of the one at Noah's ark for some reason. One of the cool looking islands created by the lazy river They didn't have to much info on whats happening in the industry... better keep trying! The 4 slides on the bottom are awesome! The 2 on the top, not so much. There's TONS of force in that helix right there! The sign for the the awesome Hurricane slides These are the Cliff Hanger slides! There kind of fun here... ...but they'll make you scream for your chiropractor here! The water play structure looked fun, but they only allow small children on it. Water World really could use a lager one for everyone to enjoy! Later in the day, I started to think they closed Big Kahuna just of the heck of it, because it didn't seem there was any effort of fixing it at all! The Typhoon slides were really fun as well! The slide that ended on the far right was my favorite! Tornado was my favorite slide in the park, you really do go up pretty high in that funnel! But they REALLY need to make it more clear on which tube is which, many people thought the 2 person tubes were 4 person tubes, and the 4 person tubes were 5 person tubes! They have one of those crazy drop slides like Noah's Ark! This kids area looked cool, but we didn't check it out. That's it for this TR, so thanks Water World for a great day! Thanks for reading!

^The 30- 50 minute peak is usually with both trains, and for fright fest, that's all Ive heard too, I would really like to see a couple more mazes this year. I really don't think 3 is enough a fright fest that will be "scarier than ever". EDIT: Oh and, I have a quick question! I remember reading some pages back about a B&M flying coaster planned for SFDK, does anyone have any info on that?
-
I will only be attending the SFDK day, but hey! I still get to got to my first TPR event! Oh and couple things about the post above.. I wouldn't be surprised if Boomerang or Hammerhead leave the park, it seems like there always down(that mostly goes for hammerhead). Those people you saw were probably funtime people checking out the ride like they did at SFStL. I see stuff going on at the 3D there a lot to, but it seems like there using it for storage right now. And wow, 15 minute waits for Roar? Its usually 30-50 minutes at the peak when I go during the summer, when did you go?

What area really needs a theme park?
Andrewoplis replied to let1gre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think a park some where in between norcal and socal would be cool! -
I would really like to see some new slides over at boomerang bay, I think that park could use a couple more slides. As for the dry park, I thing anything but a Windseeker would be nice. Its not that I don't think Windseekers aren't cool, its just do to the fact that SFDK just got a ride much like it, so it wouldn't make to much sense to add one. But then again, Cedar fair did add 3 of the 4 Windseekers at neighboring CF parks....

Ok, time for some more Mt Olympus! Mt Olympus is a fairly big park is one of the Dell's star parks. Its has 2 really awesome woodies(Hades and Cyclops), lots of fun go kart tracks(which are included with admission), and an INSANE wave pool!(Poseidon's Rage). For the over all park, its ok, its mostly just a bunch of attractions slapped together in a big plot of land, but unless your a vegetarian, make sure you get a Gyro! There really good! Now, on to the pictures! Our hotel is right next to river view, to bad they don't have there coaster anymore Even though Wisconsin dells is know for its water parks and woodies, there's TONS of those cheesy tourist trap type things. I saw every thing from a Deer petting zoo, to monster truck rides! We got to the park at 9 am because thats when the park said they open, but they only open a couple of rides until 10 am, thats when they officially open. Aww, the airtime coaster isn't open... ..nor is the NINETY DEGREES!!!! coaster. This go kart track is open though! A really fun track! I think its cool that most of the go karts tracks here have really tall elevated sections! Out of all they coasters they could have opened, why did it have to Zeus?! I rode this in the back and it was awful! It was so rough I could barley breath on some parts! The front is the only way the go in this ride! It looks like they opened Hades, lets ride! Thats good to know! Well, Hades is down, so I took a random picture of one of the many go kart tracks! Oh, Cyclops its open, and still run awesome! Rode this ride about 6 or 7 times, and my butt landed on the seat divider almost every time on this part! It really is insane! We rode this mainly because its right across from Cyclops Gum anyone? Man I want that credit! This was a fun track, but i ended up getting the slowest kart in the world! Extreme World isn't looking that extreme anymore Mt Olympus also has an indoor amusement park.. .. and an indoor water park! But were at the indoor theme park for this! Lots of carnival style flat rides in here Opa was a fun ride, but its didn't really spin to much. (Oh, sorry that the indoor park pictures are so dark, my camera has a really crummy flash!) Whats this? It looks like Hades is running! This is were the head ache happens! I was skeptical about this ride about this ride because I kept hearing how it became "Almost unrideible" because of how rough it was. But really wasn't THAT rough, Everything from the first drop, the that big hill coming out of the second part of the tunnel was really good! Everything after that gave me a head ache, but it wasn't an slc head ache, it when away really quick! Hi Bryan! Besides go karts and coasters, Mt Olympus is also very well known Poseidon's rage, a wave pool the creates a NINE FOOT WAVE every minute or so! It was on of the craziest thing I think ive ever done, I thought I was going to drown every time! Its FREEZING cool out side as well decided to check out the indoor water park, and its actually really nice! They outdoor water park looked really cool! But none of the slides looked open, only the wave pool and the lazy river. But the slides by Poseidon's rage were open. I only see 2 people, how about you? The indoor theme park I got me a sexy Hades penny Seriously, try these! There awesome! Oh magical Zoltar, why to you rip people off? This thing really did look home made.. More random go karts! This track was my favorite! But why is it called "The Trojan Horse"? Oh, that's why! I felt sorry for this train, even with one little kid on it, it literally took it about 5 minutes for it to compete the course! Even the sign gets hairtime on Cyclops! You can rent ERs here One more time on Cyclops to finish off the day! Bye Mt Olympus an every park we hit in the dells! Thanks for an awesome 2 days! Next stop, Vallyfair! Thanks for reading and don't forget to please POST YOUR COMMENTS!! (I really want to here what you guys think so far!)

I think I drop tower would go great in that park! But if you ask my friend, he'll say that they already have one... but ill leave that for "the weirdest things the GP has said" thread. I might actually be going back there in November, which is awesome because I can hopefully ride many of the rides that had to line of lines or were close the last time I went, and I could also ride my first Zac Spin and get a credit too!

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
Andrewoplis replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
X2 scared the crap out of me last time I rode it. -
Ok, so now its time for Noah's Ark!(And Timber Falls and Mt Olympus). Noah's Ark is just down the road from Mt Olympus and is very well know for the tittle of "America's Largest water park", and this place is HUGE. A lot of these place that have tittles like that usually mean that the rides aren't to good, but thats not the case here! Many of the slides here are awesome, with a few bad ones, but not many! Now on to the pictures! WTF IS THAT? We stayed at Zeus's Village, which is right across form Mt. Olympus, and if you stay at one of there hotels(Like we did), you get free tickets to the park for every day you stay! We see you hellcat, we'll come back for you later! This is one of about 10000 Culver's we saw in the state, is the food any good? We never ate at one. Time for the our first park in the dells As you can see from the car window, its a rainy day in the dells, which means more rides for us! This is one of the best wave pools Ive done! The waves aren't to small for it to be boring, but not to big for it to insane and not that fun! Even the little ones can enjoy it! This is Congo Bongo, I normally love these slides, but this one was kind of weak... ..but Time Warp was really cool! Not only was the drop into the bowl pitch black, but they even got Jeff Johnson to hang out in the bowl! These were fun too This slide was the same kind of slide as Congo Bongo, only tunneled. But its just as weak. Even Spongebob hangs out here The area that these slides were in was closed, which is to bad because the looked kind of fun This lazy river is extra lazy today You would expect something bigger from "America's Largest water park" I call these the " Totally screwed up slides of death", the purple ones are awesome, but the blues ones, not so much. (And yes, those are zip lines in the back ground) I spy some Proslide awesomeness!! My new favorite water slide! The tubes just FLY over those hills! And the really fast turns, awesome! This was a strange ride that had no water effects of anything, its a mix of attractions which I won't give away, but the strangest thing is that the ride looks like its from the late 80's or 90's, but it opened in 2009! Scorpion's Tail is the parks newest slide and the first aqua loop is the US. I thought I wouldn't like this slide to much for 2 reasons. 1. I hate speed slides, most of them make me feel like going to drown or hurt my back. 2. I was scared just looking at the thing. But it was really awesome! The trap door was really fun and I thought that part at the top of the "loop" was really cool! The beige slide is point of no return, and it used to be a racing slide until they put the aqua loop in, and it was ok, but it did hurt my back a little. But The Plunge is awesome! Lots of airtime on that second drop! This is another rafting slide like Congo Bongo, but this one is really fun! Something inside me tells me that this is where Disney got world of color from. This is Stingray, and its 100 times better than Stealth at Sunsplash! Single tube or not The only bad part is the the double tubes weighed ton! So you get a nice work out carrying that thing up to the top. Time for the bizarre Jungle Rapids Ok so this is the "bizarre side", what makes it so strange is the fact that you lie down on a matt, the life Gard raps it around you like a blanket, and sends you on your way, I have never seen or heard of a slide like this before! This is the "Not so bizarre side", you just use a normal tube on this side, I like the matt side better though They have bumber boats! They have a credit here for you sad and pathetic credit whores, but its powered so I don't count it. This is there spill water/ Shoot-the-Chutes ride, which I think is pretty cool to have in a water park! It my look small here but... .... OMG THATS A BIG KLOOSH!!!!! And now every ones all wet, LOL This was actually pretty cool! One big problem I had with the park is the ground, it was mostly really rough concrete and asphalt and it tor up my feet pretty good, so remember to bring your flippy floppy with you or something like that Most of directional signs were like freeway signs, but I guess they can't move them or there to lazy to because all the things on this sign were closed Sounds good! Lots of nice kids areas all over this park! Creepy walrus thing These slide looked like fun, but I didn't ride them They do dump out into the lazy river though Tubes, just a bunch of tubes... These were cool, the middle ones had really good airtime, but I liked the ones on the outside better. We headed back to the hotel and dried off a little more Then we set off to go ride Hellcat a.k.a Avalanche Were here! They have one of those scary looking Sky Scraper things! Were here at Timber Falls... ...to ride that! They have a cool looking log flume here as well But were here for this awesomeness! Avalanche..I mean Hellcat was awesome! Really fast with TONS of airtime! It was a little rough going into the turns but besides that, it was really smooth! Ooo, Im touching the S&S wood! Bye, bye Timber Falls! Hello Mt Olympus! Its the coaster from hell! Zeus, just being boring There's NINETY DEGREES!! in there some where.. WHOOSH!! First up, Hades. Hades used to be considered to be one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world until it got pretty rough not to long ago. Every thing until the ending curvy bits was really good! Those curvy bits gave be a head ache, but besides that, Hades is a really good ride IMO. Time for airtime! The airtime here is INSANE! But there's actually really good airtime all over this ride, and not just this part. Whats this? That happens to be my 100th credit!! Woo! And for the ride its self, its a fun little coaster. I spy another credit! But I can't ride it. I pretty suprized to see that this thing runs at all They have one of those Screaming Swings, and this one is really fast. Time for Zeus, it was just OK, pretty smooth in the front, but kind of boring. Probably my lest favorite coaster in the dells. Nothing really happened after that so that it for this update! Thanks for reading and don't forget to please POST YOUR COMMENTS!

^The waits usually aren't to bad on any weekday but Friday. At the Busiest times (around noon) the lines and rang from about 20 minutes to an hour, depending on what the operations are. Make sure you come early so you can get on the busier rides(Medusa, Sky Screamer, Roar, Big Spin, etc.) with almost no wait.

Ok, so its time for the final update of Six Flags Great America! The photo's are now on my normal computer instead of the lap top so the updates should come faster now. So.. on the the pictures! Hmm, whats going on here? It looks like there doing clearing for something, it maybe something big too. There was this store that had tons of family guy and Simpsons stuff Come on Mr. frisbee! Open up! We eat here, and it was pretty good at a descent price, MUCH better in than anything back at SFDK! This kind of looks like the queue to something This gift shop had a ton of things for coaster nerds to geek out over! Yes, we know your here to Sky Trek Tower Time to head over to the water park Wow, now lines? All right! Wait a minute, both park are both open and closed? WTF? This looked kind of cool, I didn't get around to seeing it though.. The entrance to Hurricane Harbor is right next to Viper's queue, so that means nice photos ops of raging bull! Don't be fooled by the turnstiles, its free to get in. Oh, new hotness!! And of course, about 1 minute after we get in, it started raining Let me repeat that, it started DUMPING! No wonder its called "Hurricane Harbor" Here's the park map for ya! (And yes, I know its side ways) It stopped raining, now we just have to wait. Wet Viper would seem really good right now! To bad its closed like everything else Yay! The parks are open! This was THE largest water play structure ive ever seen! Just look at that thing! Poor Shark tums So evil! The lazy river is looking really lazing now! (By the time I got around to taking these next pictures, the park was closing) It may not look like it here, but there are to bowl slides in that complex. But my favorite is that light blue slide there! That a BIG funnel! This was my first shot at the flow ride, at it was pretty awesome! The new slide complex of Riptide Bay, I rode that yellow slide and it was pretty cool! Not AS scary as it looks. The park called this a thrill ride but its for of a family ride to me, still lots of fun though! enacirruH robraH was awesome! A very underrated park indeed! Troika! Troika! Troika! It didn't seem like they had any info on the clearing over by Demon Next ride... ...is not you Super Man! But this! Condor was a cool ride, kind of like a Troika! Troika! Troika!, only high up in the air! Dark Knight had, yet again, no line! (Does the park normally not use the preshows?) Yum! Oh, they have a Schwarzkopf monster thingy hear to! But as much as I love Schwarzkopf rides, I like the Early monsters/spiders better. My mom's a lier .. At first, I wanted ride this, but then I realized that it run the same program as Voodoo back at SFDK, and since nobody ever rides Voodoo, its pointless. WTF? Was there a trolly here or something? Lots nice buildings everywhere Thanks Six Flags Great America for and awesome one and half days!! Thanks for reading and down forget to POST YOUR COMMENTS!!
-
You my have already gone, but just for the future, I recommend any day thats not Friday of saturday, and that you should probably get the the park early so you can get on the rides that have long lines later in the day (Medusa, Roar, Sky Screamer, Big Spin, etc.). But lines mostly never really get so bad that you'll need a flash pass.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Andrewoplis replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just remembered one from a while ago... Back in 2007, my local fair had a wild mouse in the midway, and there first "non-wacky worm" coaster in years. So my one of friends said- "I don't want to go on that ride, it may stop in the middle!" Me-"How?" Friend-"The motor in the car might brake!" Me-"Roller Coasters run on gravity dude, there no motor in the car" Friend-"No, I saw them turn off the car so they can do inspections!" Me-"What ever" I know that its common for GP not to know some things, but come on, most of the GP can get that one right. -

Love the updates!! Tokyo disneyland looks sooo awesome!! -
Ok, time for day 2 of Six Flags Great America! Six Flags Great America is a really nice park that first opened as Marriott's Great America. Many people say this is the best Six Flags park, but I thing Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is mine, but other than that, they have a great collection of coasters and flats and an awesome water park! Oh, and, btw, I rode Buccaneer battle, but I didn't take a picture of it from that day, so ill just say that it was a lot of fun! You WILL get wet thought! Now, on to the pictures! Were back at SFGA! Hello Hurricane Harbor, we'll get to you later. Oh, did I say were at Six Flags? Were actually at Six American Flags! We meat again, double Decker carousel RA!! IMA CRAZY TAZ!!! DON'T CLIMB MY FENCE!!! The line waiting for Super Man to open, good thing I rode it last night! Waiting for the ropes to cash in my final credits Adventures land had these and my mom said that my brother and I should ride it because it might be the only time we'll see these, she was wrong. First up, some sort of Raging Cajun. It was a fun ride, but it spun the crap out of my brother and me! Time for some old school B&M goodness 19 years and still awesome! Its right next to Viper as the coaster in the park, IMO. My mom wanted to take my picture next to the Gravy Lovers coaster land mark, so she did! But whats that on my hand? I got some souvenir "Worlds first Batman" spooge!! Mmm.. Intamin To bad Mr. Holding brake doesn't work like at certain coaster in California Time for the "Newest" coaster at the park and my Brother's first woody It was a fun little coaster, and a great addition to the park! This toy store had AC and it was hot today so we spent some time in there. I swear Ive seen this before! Time for my final credit in the park It would be a fun ride if the seats weren't 5000 degree's Fahrenheit! The area the ride was in was really nice! They have one of those Schwarzkopf scrambler type things here! Hello worlds first B&M I really wasn't AS bad as people made it out to be, but it wasn't great. Aw, the fisbee is still closed American Eagles entrance is right next to a teleport devise to Six Flags over Georgia Still a fun ride Come on, let the red side race the blue side! Time for some total bull! It would be a lot more fun with out all the trims but its still a lot of fun! Guess what this the entrance to? Yep, its for Giant Drop! The ride ops at this park like to say these little poem type things as the rides would dispatch, but some of the thing they would say on this ride were a little strange, "Its big, its brown, it will take you to the ground, its Giant Drop!" "It big, its brown"?? Lol Time for the Six Flags Woody Viper actually has a very long Queue, so there some nice photo ops of Raging Bull in the queue As well as Viper its self Such an awesome ride! But El toro still remains as my favorite wooden coaster. Paint ball shooting gallery? Awesome! This was a cool ride I need to take another Whizzer! The sign says it all! Ooo, nerd shot! Whizzer is one of 2 Schwarzkopf speed racers left in the world, so its nice to see that SFGA stills has theirs up and running! I wish CGA still had their Whizzer though... More SFGA coming soon! Thanks for reading and don't forget to post your comments!!!!

I REALLY wanted to do CGA but I probably can't, but I can still go to SFDK! BTW, do people under a certain age need a parent or Garden with them? -
Starting from American Eagle.. After some Intamin goodness, it was time for the next ride I saw, Iron Wolf. Iron Wolf was the very first B&M coaster, which means its also the first B&M stand up. Ive heard a lot of bad things about this ride, but it really wasn't that bad, but it wasn't great ether. It had no line though, which is a good thing. Next, I decided to check out Vertical Velocity. I love V2 back in Cali so I was hoping this would be good as well, even with out that Heart line roll type thing. And I was half wrong, Vertical Velocity was a fun ride, but it wasn't as good as V2 at SFDK, IMO. After that, I headed over to Batman, the worlds first Inverted coaster. It might be almost 20 years old now, but it still kicks butt! Lots of force all over this thing and the best part in that the ride crew let ride again since there was no line! After some old school B&M goodness, it was time for a "Newer" B&M, Super Man Ultimate Flight! I was a little disappointed of the one at Great Adventure, since it was at kind of boring compared to Tatsu, but this one was a lot better for 2 resins. 1. I only waited about 2 minutes for this one compared to 1 hour at SFGAdv. 2. One this one, the minute my train started to climb the lift hill, it started to rain, hard! So that was pretty cool! After I got off of Ultimate Flight, I noticed that Dark Knight was right next door, so I check that out since the line looked short, and it was! For one, they weren't doing the pre- shows, which is fine to me. And the line was only about 30 seconds long. So after a fun ride on the Mack wild mouse, I called a day and head back to the room. See you tomorrow SFGA! Thanks for reading and please post your comments!!!
