  1. Flat ride construction will not start until mid to end of November. Currently a haunt occupies the space where they will go. Gotham will close as per usual the day before Holiday in the park which gives construction a green light to move full steam ahead. The land is already flat and cleared out so it'll mostly be digging a hole for the floor drop, pouring footers, and bolting the new rides in place along with a major rehab of the troika into spinsanity. The Halloween event this year has been packing them in. Sunday was wall to wall people with maybe 150 open parking spaces in the super far back. The changes they made this year have been paying off as they are being rewarded nicely with high attendance. There have been several reports that patrons are making false reports about the scare actors (touching people, harassing people, etc) and due to that they've had to change their procedures. So if anything you can blame the patrons more than the park, the park is just protecting themselves from negative publicity from false accusations.
  2. This will be Gravity Groups 4th compact coaster in as many years and all have turned out fantastic. Maybe they should stick with this niche and leave the 360 stuff to RMC
  3. So I figure I will give my unofficial review of Switchaback First off Danny and Sarah are awesome down to earth people who are very excited to offer this world class record breaking coaster to the world. They take great pride in their operation and it shows by the loyal following of locals that they have who come out week after week to support them. I have no doubts that this ride will be maintained and taken care of with the utmost care. It's quite fascinating to watch the ride operate from a nerd standpoint, very reminiscent of Mr. Freeze and very efficient. From the top of the coaster you are able to scope out dinner plans at one of the many taquerias in town before making the turn and plunging down at what feels like 60mph. A small hill that further enhances the feel of extraordinary speeds before hitting the overbank and being thrown to the side (in a awesome fun way) while snaking through the building and eventually reaching for the sky at 87 degree. Reverse is just as fun and I found myself forgetting about the overbank until the train back into it and slings you to she side a bit before hitting the last (erm second if going forward) hill and backing up the first hill before coming to a stop. Sure it's a 4 car train but any longer and the ride wouldn't be the same, and by same I mean it wouldn't be as good. The back seat I found is money as you still get that out of control feeling you do on longer trains. The front seat is perfect for the views which I love how they finished the top of the spike with the running steel sticking out beyond the wood making it seem like you might fly off. Not only does ZDT's have a winning coaster on their hands, Gravity Group has once again proven that bigger is not better, bigger is just bigger. This ride packs a lot of punch in a small compact space. You get the same ride length time you would as a traditional full circuit coaster but in half the space and a fraction of the cost. I'm sure many first time coaster ride memories will be made on Switchback and many nervous riders will be coaxed into riding after seeing many of the 'big coaster' elements but will certainly be back to ride over and over.
  4. If I lived in Florida, I would absolutely buy the Signature Passport because as has been mentioned, why would I want to visit during their 2 peak times of the year? That says a lot coming from someone who isn't the biggest Disney fanboy in the world, but at the monthly price, if I went twice per month, I would completely feel that I had value for my pass. If I lived in California, I probably wouldn't buy the top tier pass there either for the exact same reasons. I don't need nor have the desire to visit during peak times as I don't enjoy being crammed around tens of thousands of other people. Some may enjoy it, I don't. In my case only one of us would grab the Signature and the other the Deluxe, the blackout dates are practically, if not the same (I didn't do a big analysis on it) and I could care less about visiting on a super busy Saturday. Not everyone in your party needs the parking option! I also like that DL is finally limiting the number of passes sold, obviously the price increases over the last 3 years haven't detoured people from coming out so this new structure should certainly help the crowding situation they are trying to curtail.
  5. Filing lawsuits is fun, when you're not on the receiving end.
  6. It's cool and all, I did notice several of the prizes that you can craft I already have from last year like the Halloween House and some dead shrubs, but the addition of characters will be welcome. My games has been freezing and I've gotten the two updates you speak of and most of the glitches have been fixed except the jerky screen when the campfire spawns the spooky people and snakes.
  7. Well I noticed the office of unemployment has closed, that sucks. Also noticed the radius of the money collector to have been reduced, upgraded another level and didn't see much if any difference.
  8. Saturday's are never a good time to visit SFOT if you want to marathon rides. With the revamped fright fest, people are packing in.
  9. For those curious as to exactly where the new attractions will be placed next year, I was able to confirm with the park that they are going in Flashbacks former home next to Texas Sky Screamer. The frisbee will seat 40 and the wheel will seat 48 giving both the ability to munch people.
  10. Yeah the one line to get in that also issues season passes that they are pushing is a real downer and happens quite often in the later hours of the day. Not quite sure why they would do that on opening night of fright fest. Have a Six Flags day today.
  11. Came across this article today on the former CEO of the Texas State Fair and the guy responsible for the Great American Scream Machine in Georgia. A hefty price tag for a simulated speed boat race, but let's face it, people love Dragster, Xcel, and King Da Ka, so why not a boat that goes 0-62mph in 4 seconds? 12. I stopped upgrading the IRS when it hit 1 million, I only have 5 million in the bank!
  13. Just unlocked the IRS! Wait, will the fed's come after me for saying that?
  14. Agreed, Krustyland has become the La Ronde of tapped out, we know it's there, but don't really care. In other news, the new send all your people on 24hour tasks or how ever many hours you like from the unemployment office is going to be a real time saver.
  15. What do you do when you're Garth Brooks? Well you give buckets of cash to an amusement park to open rides for yourself and your band on a normally closed day of course! Looks like he had a Six Flags day. dfw.cbslocal.com/2015/09/22/garth-brooks-wife-band-enjoy-afternoon-at-six-flags/
  16. Parks usually have private events this time of year. I didn't ask about private events in general, I was more curious about this event because closing on a Saturday is not common which sparked my inquiry if it happened regularly which was answered by CH
  17. So I guess today was a buyout for Muslims only day at SFA. Is that a regular thing? www.muslimfamilyday.com/cities/?settag=9
  18. ^I only managed to get 3 total rail pieces for this week, when I saw one was a short, one turny piece, and the odd shaped piece, I said pbbt, and put everyone to work!
  19. I forgot I still have some Money Mountain tasks left, never thought I'd be happy to burn 1 million bucks, but hey, it's 100k XP points, maybe I can get level 58 in 3 days instead of 7 or 8...
  20. Unloading will be a snap tho, and compared to a ride op needing to come by each pod and open it, I don't believe you will see any net loss in operating time.
  21. Considering the two times I flew on Spirit, mainly because I lost a bet, one flight was re-scheduled when the engine caught fire shortly after spinning it up and the other was just flat out 2 hours late with no weather delays. Thankfully I booked the big seats, otherwise there was no way I could make it with zero legroom and 'pre-reclined' seats. I'll stick with Virgin whenever possible. Frontier isn't too bad for short flights. I'm happy you enjoyed your flights, but they're not for me. I felt like I was living the real life version of 'airplane' just missing the spinners.
