  1. Mirabilandia looks great, but that Wacky Worm at Fiabilandia is something to behold. Truly, The Mother of All Wacky Worms. Just goes to show: add some creative scenic elements/dark ride sections, and a very ordinary coaster becomes AWESOME. Great reports; looking forward to more!
  2. It was discussed for Stealth to be a Mission Impossible theme. As a matter of fact "Stealth" was the name given to the project while negotiating was done to get the license. Tom Cruise is a major partner in that franchise and he is the one that killed the deal not Paramount. So it WAS Cruise all along... what a party-pooper. An M:I theme would have been SO GOOD for that attraction. I blame Scientology. ALL HAIL XENU!!!!!!
  3. This is museum-quality material. Just awesome. Thanks so much for sharing all this. Personally, I think the "Beavis and Butthead Do Great America" concept is hysterical and brilliant, and considering that new episodes are coming soon (can I get a HELLYEAH?!), it would have held up well as a theme. But that's just me. Burning question: Was "Stealth" ever really intended to have a "Mission: Impossible" theme, as has long been rumored?
  4. More great shots of a park I had so many chances to visit and never did... serious fail on my part. The Comet looks great and it's so awesome all that storybook weirdness is there. And Sasquatch has to be the most original name for a freefall ride ever.
  5. I thought a little "Disney," too: the train going by the rocks/falls has some "Nature's Wonderland" in there. And I love the super-tiny-mini Pirate Ship in the Kids County Fair! I think I've seen playground swing sets taller than that! Awesome.
  6. Each trip report, I become sorrier that I could not make it to this event. I've heard in a private communication "best Bash ever." Well done, all involved. Love the wings on DDD! ("Tommy like wingy!") I'd call Ronald Reagan pretty Mindbending...
  7. Beautiful shots in here, and as many have said, the "culture" images are among the best. The Bullet coaster does look wicked. Ocean Park's Dragon is nothing if not eye-catching!
  8. If I had Mark Zuckerberg money, I would have this park open for business by Summer 2014.
  9. If this all means Zoe Saldana's going to be walking around wearing nothing but blue body paint, I'm sold.
  10. I'm nowhere near through all the trip reports and it's clear this was one for the ages. The "Monster Mansion" tour? The GASM Water Challenge? Brilliant.
  11. KILLS me that AeroWorld never happened. As a slightly more than casual fan of aviation and rocketry and such, I think this was and is still a fantastic thematic anchor for an entire park. Maybe it's a bit too specific and limited for a wide general audience, but I would hope not. Awesome stuff; thanks again!!!
  12. ^^^Very interesting article; thanks for posting this. Gives one some cautious optimism. When they announce the addition of that GCI woodie, I'll exhale. How many things are wrong with this?
  13. In the last few years, BGW has given us a major new dark ride, a unique drop tower with audio and some cool tricks, and now we're getting a custom dark ride/coaster with two launches. If Disney and Six Flags hooked up and had a baby, that baby would be Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
  14. Wait a minute, isn't Disney doing a "Magic Kingdom" movie, where the park attractions "come to life" at night? Last I heard, my boy John Favreau was developing it? We gonna have another "Dante's Peak/Volcano" summer?
  15. ^^^Is that the elevator/tilt platform/beyond vertical drop system that I think Giovanola was pimping at one point? My recollection is quite vague... So herpderp and stuff... Yeah, and LOVE the MM version of the SAA logo!
  16. Can't... pick... just... ONE! Verbolten, for its dark ridiness, which could be stellar, and its last dropiness. Wild Eagle, for its environment, about as far from a "parking lot" coaster as you can get. The Swarm, for its awesome sci-fi monster theme, which WE NEED A LOT MORE OF, park attraction designers, come on! SFDK's Superman Ult. Flight for its "that looks like an Orlando Thrill Park concept but it's REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!" sweetness. And SkyRush, for its Intamininess. All that needs to be said. But you're all very pretty, ladies!
  17. I'm guessing most big parks look at the extra staffing costs and liability issues, etc. and turn up their noses. And that's a bunch of rubbish, say I. After all the furor over the head scarves at Rye Playland last week, I gotta lol at the Pheonix ERT video. That is spectacular.
  18. Which makes Wildwood a little slice of heaven. Looks like that was one awesome day!
  19. OMG, that rules. The artist renderings...
  20. All this talk of GASM and getting wet... ...It's, um, making me... feel funny.
  21. The Saturn V rocket alone makes this a must-see for me. An amazing piece of history. (Maybe the Forbidden Water Fountains of Mysteriousness are some kind of Big Brother-ish program the gummint is running. Take a drink and your FBI file gets upgraded to "Level 4 Authority Ignorer.")
  22. Although I missed the last couple of years, the USH mazes I've seen have been OFF THE HOOK ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was insane) and I'm super-psyched for this year; nice report!
  23. Good grief, those are pretty disturbing images. It's good to know that this park has experience with flooding like this and will rebound, but still, that really sucks.
  24. Seriously. What. The. Damn? If you are looking for pity, my friend, you shall get none from me.
  25. West Coast REPRESENT! What a year for California, baby!
