  1. Looks to me that there isn't restraints just like a typical log flume. I'm aware some Log flumes have restraints (IE: Ripsaw Falls @ USO) but Chiapas doesn't seem to have any. Source link below has a fantastic photo album of the Chiapas "preOpening." Source Also, Never realized how tall this drop really was until now...
  2. Document states 242ft is approximate elevation. Let the speculation begin.
  3. Anyone know the reasons behind the frequent closures? I'm assuming it was mostly closed due lift/elevator issues.
  4. Wow........just wow!! I haven't been this excited for a coaster since I:305 was being built.
  5. Those lights on the trains look amazing!
  6. ^Ah, yes you're correct. I'm not sure either but the nerd in me wants to find out!
  7. ^^As far as I know only the ZacSpins, Water attractions w/ vertical lifts, Tornado, and Fahrenheit use this system. I'm not sure why Intamin decided on the Hydraulic route as opposed to electric motors. I'm sure there's some benefit but I'm not sure what it is.
  8. The Intamin Dual-Chain lifts use a Hydraulic system. In these images you can see the hydraulic lines going into chain sprocket drive. Fahrenheit @ HP GL @ SFMM
  9. ^^Well that's a given. Since the crane is needed must be something major.
  10. ^Thank you. I wonder what happened.
  11. Word on the street is that Windseeker has a crane on site. Was it down for opening weekend?
  12. ^Um, NO. The audio is intermittent at best. Tim B. stated @ WCB a few years back that they were determined to get it working as close to 100% as they could but doesn't look like they were successful.
  13. ^Agreed. StratosFear @ Knoebels is an ARM 148' model. S&S towers don't do it for me. Intamin 1st and 2nd generation are great but the most airtime I've experienced is on ARM and Moser drop towers. ARM 105' portable model. Moser Mega Drop. This is what the OC fair has here In Southern California has I believe. Joey can correct me if I'm wrong as he's the fair ride expert around here.
  14. ^Let her know we appreciate it! Some coaster enthusiasts could give a d@mn about how a ride operates as long as it works and they enjoy themselves. I enjoy that plus also want to know how the ride works.
  15. Sandor is trying to sabotage B&M. Glad to hear there were no injuries.
  16. That's no excuse! Your insight is always appreciated.
  17. ^^^Not strange at all. I love the sound the train makes going through the loop.
  18. I'm geeked out to the max. Thank you for sharing this.
  19. ^Agreed. A lot of parts for Zoom have to be made in-house so yea eventually it will not be cost effective to keep it running. I give Zoom another 3-5 years and then it might be on the way out. It was one of my favorite rides to operate when I worked at the park.
  20. Yes, the wheels that are just below the seats are for the maintenance area and function the same way that B&M's design does. This allows easier access to the wheel assemblies. Here you can see 1 of Griffon's trains in its maintenance area. Source Also, Great report as usual! Thanks for sharing.
