Thank you for the report. Doesn't look like the lap bars detract from the ride experience at all. -

Cavs Fan, The park has been suffering in attendance and has issues dealing with the city forcing a stadium on the property that will adversely affect the business. It's short on attractions as is and to have one of the FEW major attractions you have be removed.......That's the first nail in the coffin. What happened to Geauga Lake is happening here. Attractions being removed with the promise of capital expansion and then nothing comes............ This park hasn't had any major investments since Boomerang Bay which was added in 2004 (No, I don't count Survivor or Firefall as major expansions). Even with that expansion, Stealth was removed to make this happen. Then there's the nagging issue of the neighboring offices that complain about noise. (Thus why the GCI woodie project was canceled in 2007/2008) The offices are all for the stadium because most games/concerts are at night and those that aren't at night are on the weekends when all the surrounding office buildings are closed. CGA is open every day at 10 am during the summer season disturbing said offices. Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to see this park close as I have fond childhood memories growing up in the bay area visiting this park. Would I love to see this park thrive? Absolutely! Is it likely? Nope! Not with Santa Clara and Cedar Fair butting heads I'm not a pessimist......I'm a realist.

Bottom line of what Robb is trying to say is that some coasters CAN be dispatched with the restrains physically open in automatic mode! I've operated 4 different coasters in which this can be the case!! Older B&Ms (Pre-2002) do NOT have a restraint monitoring system. The "lock harnesses" button on dispatch panel has to be pressed in order to dispatch the train however there's no monitoring system that regulates the physical position of the restraint. I've also operated an Intamin that has this ability as well to dispatch the train with the restraints "locked" but not physically lowered in automatic mode.

Steve, You're correct on the Boomerang restraint monitoring. It's called a "low pedal" and it will stop the train on lift 1. If you meant "most" coasters then that's fine but that's not what your post stated. In any case, there are newer (post 2000) coasters that will allow you to dispatch with restraints unlocked.

Here's a nice Article about Cedar Point's carpenters and their job responsibilities. -
The B&M I operated for 5 years had a "creep" mode on the lift that will slow the lift down in the event of the other train not clearing the main brake to prevent a set-up. In the event there was a set-up, the train on the lift would stop until main brake and the service brake was clear. At that time the lift would restart automatically. All of B&Ms "main/safety" brakes consist of safety brake and a service brake. The train has not cleared main/safety brake until its passed the service brake. The lift never has to be reset unless it was stopped by the dispatcher, during set-up testing/block check or in the event of an RTL.

Thank you for the trip report. Looks amazing! Has to be the most heavily themed slide I've ever seen.
