TPR's 2013 Japan Trip - Mini Updates!
CorkscrewFoley replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guess for some odd reason, TOGOs in Japan seem to be smooth from the reports I have heard in the past few years... -

I haven't been on I305 yet, but I preferred Leviathan to Millennium Force. -

I am really hoping Wonderland adds a B&M Dive Machine with multiple inversions. The park really needs a decent multi looping coaster. A Kumba clone? -

Question...how is Diamondback compared to Behemoth? I only ask because of the dispatch wars that Jizzy mentioned. -
I seen the link for the Times' article on the dry ice bomb (and even I know there was nothing to get worked up about), and then I read the comments afterwards...oh man, stupidity and ignorance all around...If anything, Fenton was probably trying something new for GizmoDuck's armour...yeah...I just made a DuckTales reference. Ribbing aside, no one was hurt, the dumbasses involved will be caught and that is that...

An Impulse with the double twisted towers ala Wicked Twister could work. Theme it to some kind of large sea creature, and you have gold. -
Kennywood opening day 2013 Picture report.
CorkscrewFoley replied to thrillrider's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I found the double down painful on my first ride, and that was from my hands hitting the grab part (I want to say grab bar, but there really isn't any), but after that, it was cool. I need to get back myself...it's been 8 years since I got some Phantom love... -

People can say what they want about Leviathan, but my God does it really stand out. Even after riding it, I was still watching whenever we were near the front...Glad to see Behemoth is running well. -

I have to admit I always cringe when I see a coaster with a tonne of inversions, and I thought that at first, and then I saw the POV (the queues were brilliant), and I fracking loved the ride. Definitely unique to say the least. Good job, Bassdirt. -
New B&M trains on Steel Dragon
CorkscrewFoley replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would like to see more of this too. I am still hoping that CP would do Phantom's Revenge style trains with the restraints. Both of them have some insane moment of airtime (PR's being better), I would think this would work. -
Gary's 2013 TPR Mexico Tour Trip Report
CorkscrewFoley replied to carolinacaniac's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Loved the first mask...very Mistico...Oh, and it sounds like someone had Pearl Jam in mind too, even tough it's supposed to be Evolution (either way, I like it!). Enjoying the TR so far Gary. -

Dollywood, July 7th, I believe... Cedar Point, haven't been back since '05. Canada's Wonderland...maybe. -
When did you become an enthusiast?
CorkscrewFoley replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was always fascinated by roller coasters right from an early age. Even if I was too small to ride or too chicken, I just couldn't get enough of them. I didn't consider myself an enthusiast until I discovered forums for people like me. It sounds hokey, but I really love coasters and being an enthusiast. I'm just happy being at park. -

Don't wear designer sunglasses that are 200$, only to have the lenses pop out on Dragster (I heard two girls talking about it happening while in Leviathan's queue)... If it's a long queue, make nice with the people around you. You never know who you might ride with, and it helps speed up time. (Not sure if that one hasn't been done yet).
