I knew I forgot one! How could I miss Comet? I'd put that right with SDL as well. -

That's where I was with it! I get creeped out every time I drive by. Just seeing it from the road. -

I'd have to agree with the smokehouse being the best option. The main entrée item is a very large portion. The pulled pork is very good. -

I totally get the distance/ scheduling thing. They literally may announced it so I figured why not toss it out there just in case. The park during the day creeps me out. I don't think I could walk through in the dark. Lol -

I don't know if this will work for you schedule wise but Williams Groove just announced that on the 31st for one night only they are hosting a haunt event in the old park. The site keeps crashing so the only thing I know is that it is called Terror in the Park and is supposed to cost 45 bucks admission. -

Field of Screams is scarier than ever, if that's possible. Let's just say I ended up in a stranger's lap in tears and had come damn close to pissing myself. Definitely worth a trip out this way. -

From what I've seen on Facebook the kiddie rides have been moved, FF is gone, no major construction yet. Nothing vertical anyway. The foundation was starting to be poured last week, Flying Falcon is gone but they kept the foundation and plan to put place the two kiddie rides on top of it, and Red Baron is almost finished. The foundation is done, the center of the ride was placed and they still need to add railings, ride vehicles and the controls. Over at the Chick-Fil-A site, they removed several large trees in front of the Music Box Theatre, closed down the restrooms, and put a preview sign up on the side of Shakey's Drive In. Simply put, they are moving faster than I've ever seen on a new addition. It's good to hear that they are moving on this one. The Facebook fan pages aren't keeping up with construction for once -

Yes, and the Facebook universe is losing their collective minds at roller coasters doing what they are designed to do . Something wasn't right so they stopped in a safe position. -

Also both Great Bear and Skyrush clear out in the evening. After 8 Skyrush is practically a walk on. At least normally. With whatever problem they are having with the trains this might not be as true. -

Yes. Skyrush is part of the early opening for resort guests and will have a line first thing at general opening. The little path is still there. I usually hit Fahrenheit (can get in 2 or 3 rides in 5-10 minutes) then Laff Trakk. I was there the Saturday of the Mixtape Festival and by 10:30 had ridden both with no problem. If you wait for either of those 2 you'll end up with an hour minimum because they are slow. Skyrush clears out by 3 or so and after about 8 is almost a walk on. -
I'm not super familiar with the ride so forgive this if it's a silly question. Is it a requirement to have 3 riders? I'm asking because if the weights that are reported as being taken at the hospital are correct, the 2 adults would have been 472 lbs by themselves, putting then right about at the middle of the weight range. I'm trying to grasp why they put Caleb on that raft and push it to the upper weight limit.

First, our weather lately has been sickeningly hot and humid. Rain at some point (briefly) most days then right back to super humid. As for ride order, hit Fahrenheit and LaffTrakk first as their lines are long and slow. Then head back to LR and work your way forward ending in the Hollow. Skyrush clears out in the evening so you should be able to hit that several times between the 2 days. Last, if you're willing to leave the park for lunch, hit Troeg's. Leave the lot and take a right on Hersheypark Dr. The brewery is just past the outlets on the right. Amazing amazing food. You can't go wrong there. -
New "Infinity" ride from KMG

Common sense applies hear. First I might take you seriously except you used the wrong "here". Second I prefaced my question by saying that it may be a dumb question, hence acknowledging that I do not know the correct answer and some people may think the question is dumb. However my question is not absurdly stupid. One can not learn if one never asks. -

Other articles said the child was conscious when taken to the hospital but that was all that was said. -

This may be a dumb question but when they say it's almost 200 ft tall is that the pendulum length or how high it is when it is fully inverted? I'm trying to fathom the pendulum being 200 ft then inverting and riders are upside down at 400 ft. That's like TTD kind of tall! -

Wait what? The lift/drop on Skyrush are twice as high as any other hill on the ride. I'm certain the train would make it through the course no matter how fast/slow it went up and over the lift. In fact in testing videos when the ride opened they would inch it over the crest and it made it through the course no problem at all. I keep forgetting that text has no inflection to convey meaning. I was exaggerating to express how very very painfully slow they took the train up the lift. We watched it for a good 5 minutes while we ate at the pizza place in the Hollow. -
My home park is Hershey. I've had many amazing trips to BGW as well. If I had to pick one over the other I'd have a lot to consider. Are you taking little kids along? Are you looking for a big coaster lineup? What kind of atmosphere appeals to you? On trips with my little ones, I would say BGW because it's more shaded, good food, more for my little ones while I ride the handful of awesome coasters that they have. I haven't had a bad ride on any of their coasters ever. If you are traveling with adults and want the big lineup then Hershey by far has it. 3 great Intamin coasters, Lightning Racer, Great Bear, etc. They do lack in some areas. The coasters are generally shorter in length. Some are just not rideable (cough~Wildcat~cough). I find the food to be mediocre except at the Smokehouse. It really does just depend on what your preferences are.

This was my thought also. These are people who wanted to do something crazy and used a completely inappropriate model to do so. A water slide in no way could reasonably be expected to behave according to roller coaster physics. A legit ride engineer should have said no way to the whole design of this thing.

I was at the park on Saturday and it was running normally in the morning. Around 3 we had a brief downpour and everything closed. I'd say by 3:30 everything was testing again but Skyrush literally CRAWLED up the lift. I'm not sure how it made it through the course of the ride because it went over the lift slower than a snail. Then one train ran full speed. They re- opened and not one single train was loaded full. I also read on a Facebook fan page that it would run the rest of the year through spring of next year with only 1 train due to issues with the hydraulic mechanism on the restraints and that the train that was running would likely not be fully loaded.
