Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Chrisrad replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can see this 'reminder' being implemented at the Disneyland 'resort'. I usually get a bunch of Disneyland fastpasses, and then visit DCA to use that fastpass system, only to return to Disneyland to use my fastpasses that were obtained earlier. Like yesterday, I had a 5-6pm Star Tours fastpass, went over to DCA, then dinner, then went back to Star Tours at about 7:45pm. If this policy is going to be strictly enforced in the future, I'm not going to be very happy. -
Honestly, until there is a coaster train on whatever type of track they install, I'll just sit back and entertain myself with all of the speculation. There was all sorts of talk about Green Lantern - where it would go, which model it would be, how many trains, etc. And then it finally opened. Yet I just rode it for the first time a few weeks ago - and I live a few hours from SFMM. With the new coaster, that is also just as likely. Just be patient!!

Six Flags Magic Mountain or Knott's?
Chrisrad replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That helps, but why/where are you going out in CA? Since your parents are driving (I'm assuming), what will the main destination be? It can be very stressful navigating through/around LA. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain or Knott's?
Chrisrad replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd base my decision based on which one I'd be closer to. They are an hour apart.. Is there a particular place you are staying? With careful planning, you could technically visit both parks. If it's all about coasters (thrill factor/number/record-breaking/etc) = SFMM If it's all about visiting 'America's First Theme Park' (isn't that the logo?), with a few 'decent' coasters, then Knott's. But remember, just going to one will be like a gateway drug - at Knott's, you're about ten minutes (or less) from Disneyland. -
I'll play devil's advocate here... I like Colossus the way it is.. (for now). It's still fairly smooth, and is just an enjoyable coaster. If I wanted to ride an 'extreme' (to fit SFMM's theme) wooden coaster, there's Apocalypse to fill that void. I guess I've just never had a disappointing ride on Colossus, and I usually ride it every time I'm there. Sure, the turnarounds are a little bit bumpy, but those track portions are still entirely wood, whereas the drops (a lot smoother), are steel I-beams (look closely next time you ride it). Maybe I'm wrong, but I can think of more important things SFMM needs to spend money on... *cough* scream needs paint *cough*

TPR Front Page RE-Design Contest!
Chrisrad replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That is the current tagline. I believe Robb chose it because it's similar to TMZ's "We Love Hollywood. We Just Have a Funny Way of Showing it." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMZ.com -

^ Wow, that one is really nice, also. But one thing - the icons/words look 'unpolished'. And I like how David did the title - off to the side. -
The Price is Right | 1/18/2012

Just figured I would say a few things since I did this in August 2010. It's a VERY fun experience! If you've ever seen the show on TV, you HAVE to see how it's filmed in person - I won't give away any secrets, but you'll be very surprised once you step into the studio. Drew Carey is a very nice guy - he was always talking to the audience during commercial breaks and just made the experience that much better. Since you're all going as a group, wear similar shirts - GET ATTENTION!!! After the initial screening process/ID check/etc., you'll go in another line to be 'interviewed' in groups of 10 or 15.. you won't be interviewed as a group - they just take 10 or so at a time. BE OUTGOING.. The interview panel consists of about five people and it's very quick. Be prepared to wait, and wait.. and wait. You'll see. Don't be mad when they take your cell phone/camera - once you're ready to go into the studio, you have to turn them in. Groups are guaranteed entry - so make sure you keep your group at a decent size. There are individual contestants who are on stand-by; kind of sad, but they are not guaranteed entry. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I would say to take pictures, but you really can't. EDIT: ONE MORE THING!! Park at The Grove and walk to CBS. Eat before going to CBS, or bring something with you - there were only vending machines when I was there. -

Damn, that one looks really good! And I've been looking at all of them since page 1.. there were a few others that I liked, but this one seems more polished. -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!
Chrisrad replied to chadster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It was exhausting just reading this TR and looking at the pictures - can't believe you were able to do all of that in such a short amount of time. And yeah, Hell Cat was ridiculous.. I think it's even worse than Wild Cat at Lake Compounce. Nice TR! -
I'd better stop reading all of these reviews about GL. I haven't been on it yet, and it seems as if a few of you are experiencing discomfort while riding. For those of you who are saying it's 'painful', did you ride it once (or more the same day), then never again? On X2, I've experienced rides from Hell, then, a month later (approx.), it's a completely different ride. I'd hate to just assume that GL sucks because of what I've heard about it.. I guess I'll have to give it a few chances to decide.

That's their first time doing this? That's quite impressive, especially for $12.99. -
I had a free serving of DDs at Dorney Park because it was included as a snack voucher during the TPR trip, but, otherwise, I hadn't had one for years. I was always turned off by the price - just because it's 'high tech', you can't charge $5+ for a little bowl of ice cream. So.. I guess I'm not surprised.
