Correlation =/= causation. Yes, the majority of large amusement parks that closed in the last 15 years are parks that were facilities dating back to some period of time prior to the 1970s. Alternately, most amusement and theme parks constructed in the United States were constructed prior to the 1970s. It would be exceptional to see that newer parks were the ones closing down as a proportion to the number opened vs. remaining traditional parks. And since new parks are rarely built, it should be expected that they'd do well at survival. Having said that: Wild West World, Hard Rock Park, Jazzland/SFNO, Branson USA/Celebration City and MGM Grand Adventures all opened after 1990 and they're all dead. Visionland went bankrupt or was sold multiple times. Elitch Gardens has been sold 3 times in 20 years. The only theme parks to not be failures to open after 1990 belong to either Disney, Merlin, or Universal.

A) save the picture and then upload it here (its hidden) B) For the record, I was told that SFOT, SFNE, and SFM were getting Joker rides (which is why I predicted those specific parks getting those specific coasters in the thread on here months back). SFGAmer's GM recently mentioned at NoCoaster that they were initially slated to get a Larson Loop and they balked, leading to them getting a 4D instead. Rides got shuffled around, and there you go. EDIT: Well there you go: SFNE's was the last to switch. So much for a 5 year plan...

Nope it's my first time in Dubai. Wasn't sure If I should go to another park since I'm only there for a short time and have one day planned for an amusement park. Well, for starters, it isn't in Dubai. It's a 75-120 minute drive from Dubai depending on where you are in the city and what time of day it is. Meanwhile, there's IMG Worlds Of Adventure and the Dubai Parks and Resorts places, which are all very new and quite decent from all accounts. -

There aren't any other really notable parks in Abu Dhabi to go to. And honestly, you can get through it in a few hours and move onto other stuff no problem. -

Sandusky's choices for quality cuisine are pretty limited and Bar Harbor is not great shakes, but hey, Bar Harbor is open year round. You can go tonight if you want. Tomo Hibachi I can't speak for. -

The Africa section is rad. The problem is that it has an Australian themed boomerang stuck in the middle of it because Kinzel is either strangely vindictive towards creative types or quasi-retarded. -

This. If a family owned park is profitable and they can draw worthwhile salaries from it, great, that's all they need. Investors into public park don't throw money into a company that is merely profitable. Investors want to be involved in growing companies to make money. If Cedar Point can't grow their profits at a rate exceeding inflation, it isn't attractive. Unfortunately, that creates an issue if you've maxed out your available market. How can you continue to show more growth if you can't really lure many more people to the park? -

Preaching to the choir right now. I'd rather they just let it go to concessionaires and let them worry about finding bodies or staffing it themselves. They still have a couple of them in the park as weird never-ending contracts like the china shop lady, so just do it across the board. I would probably spend way more time if I could get that food constantly there. I had no idea that china shop lady was an outside contractor. We always pop in there, they have some of the only theme park Christmas ornaments that aren't dorky as hell and we've been known to buy a few. China Shop Lady is very likely the only person in there who knows how long she's been at Cedar Point. It's been that long. I remember talking to a merchandise guy and he didn't even know her first name. -

They've openly stated that they're bringing the food trucks back in August. That's code for "we expect to have staffing troubles." Not opening a ride until nearly the end of daily operation and when you may not even have enough bodies to sell those people food or merch is a really, really, really bad idea. Not to mention that the one time Cedar Point doesn't need to try drawing more people is Halloweekends when they're drawing 50-60,000 and are relying on fraternity members working as volunteers at half the attractions. -

The demand that it opens in 2017 and speculation about how far along they are without knowing what they even plan to do may never get old to me. -

2016 has just been extended 4 months to give them a better shot. Comes at the price of a short 2017 and more celebrity deaths, but anything for Playland Castaway Cove. -

That plan goes out so long that Ouimet may not be CEO by the time much of it is instituted. I'm expecting that in 15 years from now on some holographic internet forum we bring this thing up as an archaic piece of trivia. -
Theme parks without coasters

Living museums basically fall under this and there's tons of those: Greenfield Village, Colonial Williamsburg, OK Corral, Stone Mountain... -
You go to the ride and use your ticket to acquire a paper slip. You will need to return to the ride during the hour time frame provided by the slip. You can't get two rides in the same one hour frame. Thanks. Are these slips first-come-first-serve limited or are they unlimited? I take it I can't reserve things a day in advance... First come, first served. You physically have to go to the ride itself to do this. Go to some of the Disney site and you can see the various suggested "touring plans". Usually these involve grabbing a Fastpass for a ride first thing in the AM, going to ride other stuff, then going back to that (e.g. getting one for Space Mountain, riding Autopia, Peter Pan, et al. then going back to Space Mountain later).

Are you a cop? What's it to ya? I've liked a couple of them and hated most. Blue Tornado, Mind Eraser, Thunderhawk. You said something about SLCs. It was leading. Rotunda, because it got bulldozed. You haven't? Voyage. My balls and my word. So two things. Like...6 or 7 times? How do you count this? Days? Re-entries? Disaster Transport. Yeah. Knoebels, I guess? B&M. They make rides for people over 5'9'' and without trying to pass off straight, flat track as an element, for starters. Nothing. It is like 10 degrees out. Down low, its the breadsticks by the Old Mill. Gwazi. Insert trash emoji here. TMI Log flume. I don't fuck with giant spillwater rides. Sometimes. My dreams. Its OK though, those were bad. I got way better new ones. Man...Patriot? I'll go with Patriot. Sorry Kansas City. Maverick. The people that made High Speed Thrill Coaster Soak City at Cedar Point. Whatever the fastest one is. I forget. I've been on all the big ones, basically Probably the Swiss Bob at Riverside/SFNE. NEVAR FORGET Motion sickness? I'm not fragile. MNSSHP at Magic Kingdom Magnum Bumper cars are dope but there are few dope bumper cars left. Train? Train. TMI 5 or 6. I don't feel like looking right now to double check. Mondial Frisbee thing. I might need to piss. Disneyland? Tivoli? Europa? Blackpool? 25-30ish Ghost Blasters at KI? Fluids I don't rank steel. Nrthwind, uh, maybe Dubai Dave, I can't think of anyone else. Maybe xstech25. He seems like a tryhard. -
The limited number of attractions is also a problem. I was told that they did 40K+ the 1st and 2nd with 4 hour waits for Potter. That's a crazy, crazy number for that place and I imagine it being impossible to enjoy. But hey, if you wait that long to get in with all those signs without turning around, you know what you're getting into.

This statement is true for the UK. I'd say this is half-right for the states. Knoebels, Holiday World and Kennywood are the only US parks that have multiple well-maintained wooden coasters. The rest of the gems are spread far, wide, and few between. Nah, not true. Six Flags St. Louis, Kings Island, Six Flags Great America, and Michigan's Adventure all count in this, and Camden, Rye, and Stricker's Grove can too. The rides may not be all top tier, but they're well maintained. Indiana Beach is getting back there. Silverwood and Kings Dominion have historically been at times but I can't speak for them right now. Anyways, plenty of wood coasters have gone up in Europe everywhere except the UK. A new wood coaster hasn't opened there in 21 years. I don't think that's because wood is considered "bad", otherwise we wouldn't be seeing Alton Towers building one for 2018. It just didn't fit people's plans, if they had any. -

There is no evidence that the tunnel is actively being removed. This is actually just a distraction/false flag operation by Tony and the rest of the Cedar Point Illuminati to throw us off the truth of Mean Streak being reopened in 2017. -
