  1. Different ride, circumstances, procedures, etc. but not sure how you could failsafe a skycoaster, this ride however, a failsafe seems pretty easy to design and install. I am no engineer but it seems pretty straightforward.
  2. The way Intamin has been innovating I think the first 500 foot tall anything will be a coaster from them. But seriously, how insane would it be spinning around in swings almost 500 feet off the ground? I am going to CP next year and I can't wait to go on this ride!
  3. I would like to see this in a 500 foot tall version.
  4. Hmm... interesting. Confirmation? Cedar Point faces lawsuit over planned 2011 StratoSoar attraction Mondial unveils Wind Seeker Another article Ride wars at Cedar Point? So there you go. The last article was posted on the 18th, so it looks like this Tuesday is the announcement. I love the internet!
  5. When I'm in line for Tatsu I don't want to hear the ops arranging hookups or any other nonsense. I want them to concentrate on their job.
  6. Awesome comment and maybe it will set some of these people straight. I totally agree with all that you said. Wasn't it something like a million times more likely to get hurt in your car driving there than on any ride? As far as lifts not being tall enough, if they weren't tall enough the circuit would not be completed. If the train gets stuck in the cobra it could be because the lift cable snapped, or the train was released too soon, or something on the train is causing excessive drag, or one of many other things.
  7. It is no different at all. Because of that one incident with the cable snapping on this ride YEARS AGO, they jump all over any little thing that happens to it plus I'm sure the Invertigo incident didn't help either. What a total waste off a news story. If there were injuries or something really serious happened then okay but this is just lame.
  8. This is a true sign of quality journalism. Someone should go change Wikipedia's page to say the ride is only 35 feet tall. Done The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Now how long do you think it will take someone to notice that and change it back? Wikipedia is so awesome!
  9. I clicked on one of the links to read the story and saw this on there: Man guilty of killing, putting daughter in freezer WTH?
  10. Congrats! OMG that is so freakin' awesome!
  11. Not very hard at all, I can think of at least one way that it would work. What's really surprising to me is that the manufacturer doesn't have this in place already.
  12. It always makes me kind of laugh everytime I see a Boomerang catch the train on the second lift, its such a hard, violent catch.
  13. ^ That's true and I would take that over nothing.
  14. You were telling people about that while on the ride?...That's funny. From the sounds of it the ride stopped as it should have since there was a malfunction and no injuries resulted, so does this mean everytime a coaster stops on a lift it will be on the news? Okay so people were evacuated but what's the big deal? I can't help but wonder if it being down all day yesterday has anything to do with this.
  15. Exactly! Because no matter what, when humans are involved, there will always be a chance of that happening. A failsafe would at least eliminate that possibility.
  16. The local news reports I have been seeing say nothing about it being inverted or stalled, really, they just say that it stopped on the second lift hill and the valleying occurred as a result of the train being released from the lift and being stopped on the brakes at the bottom, between the loop and second lift, where they apparently evacuated everyone.
  17. Wasn't the first time in the cobra roll because the lift cable broke? This is odd because I was there yesterday and it was closed all day and then they started test running at park closing time, it seemed okay then, I wonder what happened. Also of note, the row of seats right in the middle of V2s train have been removed, just the seats, all the cars are still in place on the train, and that row of course is blocked off in line. The explanation I got was the ride kept e stooping because it was getting errant restraint open signals from that row of seats, so they just removed them. I guess it makes sense but this was from a ride op so who knows. First he told me it was because a girl fell out, obviously he was joking.
  18. Water might not have anything to do with the actual ride, it could just be part of the landscaping for it, like a pond or small lake, etc.
  19. Blanked out, blacked out...does it really matter? The fact is his lapse of concentration lead to a near death experience for some poor little girl.
  20. If that idiot moron is blacking out and doesn't know why he should not be operating anything...ever! Oh so NOW they think it should have a failsafe... it should have had a failsafe to prevent this in the first place..... Frikin duh!!!
  21. What was that guy expecting to do other than get injured?
  22. That actually happened yesterday when I was in line for Roar. An employee come over and explained the situation to the annoyed people in line. Why was Terminator closed?
