  1. "Stampede" sounds like a good name, hell at this point I'm just happy they are finally building a new coaster and they could call it "The Wood Coaster", and I would be fine with that!
  2. I agree! I haven't seen it in person but from the pics posted, comparing it to the renderings, it really does look bigger....awesome! This pic doesn't seem to do it justice, although look how tiny the train looks on it!
  3. Sad to see a Schwarzkopf just sitting there rotting away.
  4. Yeah, I know.... 200ft. tall drop rides are really the only rides that scare me a little so this thing is going to scare the crap out of me.... but I like it!
  5. It's more than 15 feet, looks more like maybe 20-25 feet.
  6. I agree. Also, if DT does end up being removed, I wouldn't doubt at all that CP might have a second coaster for 2013. Something more family-oriented. CP has changed a lot over the recent years, but I still doubt that they're going to give up the coaster crown easily. Honestly, at this point I'd still like to see Disaster Transport and Space Spiral saved if possible. Coaster crown...
  7. It will be very interesting to see the car free fall for the very first time for sure!
  8. The color in this pic is amazing....so rich and vibrant!
  9. So you want to neuter the coaster for comfort?
  10. If it is B&M too bad it won't be an intense airtime machine like, say, Skyrush. So it will end up being a meh parking lot coaster.
  11. No its "the brake run is too high".....remember?...lol
  12. What they're doing right now in the pictures is not a "normal operation test" procedure. It's a slow manual pull through to check clearances and make sure there's no irregularities in the track. Initial installation testing, if you will. It looks like they're using the same cable mechanisms they used to construct the track, to make sure the cart rides along it properly. Once they see that both sides track are up to spec and operate with the rider cart correctly, they'll move on to adding the final normal operating mechanisms. And soon after that, all the extraneous messes of cable we see right now will be gone for good. To be honest, I think it's pretty amazing this is happening. It's gonna be quite a wild drop tower. I know its not a normal operations test but why not do this clearance/slow pull through with the actual lift cables and catch car? They are going to have to do this with the catch car anyway why not have all this stuff in here and do it now? The catch car has to be run along the same track so don't they have to check for smooth operation and clearance of it anyway? This is so interesting and im trying to learn about this as much as possible. So on a drop ride is it called a catch car or is it known as something else?
  13. So this then will also be known as a PARKING LOT COASTER.
  14. That's funny it says enjoy Medusa, V2, and Roar but no mention of Kong or Boomerang. So less than a month away, time to finish up and start testing this baby!
  15. So why then on a drop ride would they not use the actual cables/pullies/ catch car for the pull through that would be used during normal operation?
  16. The ride is not even done being worked on yet. Those extra cables hanging randomly from the tower, the scaffolding platforms still up, and the awkward braces that hang over the sides at the top of the tower will be gone when they get closer to opening the ride. It still looks like it has a ways to go. They haven't even installed the pulley mechanism at the top of the tower, or the upper-clamp mechanism that pulls the cart up the tower. Considering this was formally a non-planned attraction to be built off the side of an existing structure that wasn't originally created for this purpose, I think the final product will look just fine. The catch cars, pulleys, and cables are in place. You can see them in the pics and you can see the catch car attatched to the car as it is being pulled up.
  17. This sentence sums up this debate... And this post...
  18. Post invalidated, better luck next time. Super Like!
  19. Just watched the vid on Youtube, what the hell?.....LOL
  20. How many years ago was that video made?
  21. Same annoying people that are on all the coaster shows. Why is it always the same people? And one of them says V2 has LIMs, then he says they are LSMs (not the same thing), ok which one? Also noticed V2 used to have wheel covers, never saw them before. When did they get removed? Actually I like it better without them, the wheel assembly looks cool. I also saw Invertigo in there too.
  22. As far as I know, yellow train fell off a broken bridge and plunged into the water. Rescue efforts have been hampered by the spirit of the wolf who keeps eating anyone that comes close. Oh the horror!!!
  23. Why do all the water dummies have duct tape over their eyes? They know their not real people right? Right? It's so they don't get scared and piss away all the water!...lol It's supposed to do that, if one train is still on the course while another is starting up the lift, the lift will run slower to allow the other train to clear the course or block (it has to do this since there is no MCBR). Once that happens the train on the lift speeds up. It's just a block thing. Look at that, magnetic brakes on a Schwarzkopf coaster!
  24. So is Zierer sort of an Intamin clone? The track looks similar to Intamin.
