  1. This is great! Not only did Iget to complain about a bad ride but everytime someme says that a ride pisses them off I crack up! I dont know it just sounds really funny. Brake-raped is another one. This thread is turning out to be theraputic.
  2. ^Yeah it was really terrible that it was taken out and sat in pieces in SFDKs parking lot for over a year, then it was raped for spare parts to be used for SFKKs shuttle loop. A horrible end to a coaster that certainly deserved better. Every time I visited DK and saw it rotting there it just made me totally feel sick. At the very least its good to know parts of it are helping to keep another one operating. Its sucks but what can you do? Tragic
  3. Grizzly pisses me off too! All that wood would be better used as toothpicks, you know, something usefull. Its just asking to be bombed and totally go up in a big fireball with lots of thick black smoke! At least that would be cool to watch....no sir, I dont like it.
  4. Tidal Wave was truly one of the all time great rides there and I was stunned and saddened that shortly after giving it some tlc and a beutiful new paint job, and shortly after celebrating its 25th anniversary it was taken down and left to rot in a parking lot. Until someone can explain to me why it was taken out it will always make me sad when I think about it. I think some of us deserve closure. That was one of the first big coasters for me and what a fun ride. And on top of that nothing took its place. I would have been happy at least with an Intamin launched coaster.
  5. Well said-couldn't agree more, totally makes sense. Thanks And what is with this moving X to Psyclone's former location? Nobody has rumored that and it doesn't make sense anyway. Whay would they move the most popular ride in the park from the very front for all to see to the back corner? Sounds like a dumb idea and is probably just some made up thing --- like the Deja Vu - leaving - thing.
  6. It would be kind of interesting to see a breakdown of the budget they are spending on this to see exactly what it is being done, then the ten million might make more sense. I would like to know what the trains alone cost.
  7. ^^Take Deja Vu down? Where did you hear that? Last I read about it they were not taking it down due to management liking it along with it being popular with guests and, I may be wrong, it was somewhere in this thread, a post by Elissa.
  8. ^Yeah and it should throw broken glass at you in the tunnel. I would just be happy if the new trains are less painful then everything else is a bonus.
  9. ^Thats funny. And there are many of those too.
  10. I like them. Never had a bad experience although I have only ridden the one at MM several times. Sometimes the ride was smooth and other times a bit rough, not really too bad and when it was rough it was not that big a deal, definitely not as rough as some other coasters I have been on. I find it to be a fun and unique ride experience and am glad somebody designed it. Too bad those two are being removed.
  11. Yeah I agree with what was said about boomerang bay but what was the reason for removing Greezed Lightnin? Obviously it wasnt because something better was put in its place, I mean theres just nothing there so why?
  12. I think its the individual perception that matters most. A coaster could be considered crap by some and may not seem to have much to offer, yet to others it may seem like a wonderful ride and they might walk away from it having had a great experience. Height, speed, and all that other stuff is not important...its what you make of it and how you feel about it that is.
  13. Yeah totally. It would be nice for a change to see something big there like that.
  14. You have a good point. There are great coasters that are not the tallest or fastest but have great elements, and its those twists, turns, loops, etc that make them awesome...not necessarily speed or height.
  15. Finally something good. So happy to hear this news.
  16. Very safe. You are a million times more likely to have an accident in your car on the way to the park than on a rollercoaster there. I must point out though that they are only as safe as they are maintained, operated, and used correctly. Unfortunately, you cant stop stupidity and ignorance from causing an accident.
  17. Obviously you have not ridden it. You go completely upside down, more than once if you sit closer to the front. It clearly has an inversion.
  18. Yeah whats up with them not using the brake on the back spike? Is it really that much of a hassle to get it working? It used to work before the height was reduced, which has nothing to do with the brake. So why not use it now? Seems like a waste.
  19. Omg this thread is still going? Why? Wasn`t this settled already?
  20. By definition (turning upside down) yes it has an inversion. Ok that settles it.
  21. Its just so wrong. Considering all the trouble the city has gone through to keep it around. I dont believe they would let it go.
  22. "We will keep you on track"...hmmm...coaster?
  23. Rcoasterny, thanks for the info. I knew my explanation was correct from experience. I too used to operate an arrow coaster and the brakes are pretty much the same as you stated. I can also say what you are saying about how the brakes on your coaster etc., is also true. Invertigos I know have the same brake systems but wasnt sure about the lift. Thanks for clarifying where the hydraulic fluid could have come from, it makes sense now.
