Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
CoasterRollin replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's funny; this doesn't seem so much as GP nonsense as it does a coaster enthusiast trying too hard to show that he/she is one and then failing miserably. On the flip side, I personally don't think anyone is immune to lapses of ignorance or misinformation every now and then, so I can't blame them too much... Whenever I go to parks, I frequently overhear people who don't know for which ride they are standing in line. And I don't mean like, "What's this called again?" For example, at SFA when I was walking past the railroad station by the Gotham City entrance: -
Beautiful piece.

Best coaster ride when raining
CoasterRollin replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
El Toro! Call me a sadist, but there was something oddly enjoyable about rain stinging your entire face and not being able to open your eyes for more than a second all while being thrown up out of your seat. I was laughing the entire ride. -
^ I love Lightning Racer during ERT when the trains fill up, lol. The nighttime ERT at last year's ECB was incredible! It was surprising how much wilder the ride felt with a train full of people trying to make it as aerodynamic as possible. And I've heard that Lightning wins more often too, but yeah, its highly due to the weight of the trains.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
CoasterRollin replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Apocalypse at Six Flags America on June 2nd for the season pass holder preview event. Good stuff! -
^ Agreed, Lightning Racer definitely takes the cake for me. I have been on Lightning Racer, Rebel Yell, Rolling Thunder (Great Adventure) , and Gwazi. Rebell Yell and Rolling Thunder "race" and Gwazi "duels", but Lightning Racer takes both of those elements and throws them into a beautiful mess of twisted track. It also helps that Lightning Racer still races...

Hahaha, I was on that train! It was my first ride, then what do you know? Technical difficulties. Oh well, it's to be expected. I agree completely about both Apocalypse and Roar. Apocalypse was a fun ride! It was definitely smoother than I anticipated too. In the front row, the first half of the ride (up until the "flat bit") is silky smooth and from my neck down, the entire ride rode smoothly. It was mainly just a few head bumps here and there, as Oryp said (exit of the upward spiral through the loop, entrance to the corkscrew, some other places near the end). The back row had a little more head banging, but the "defensive riding position" did the trick. And yes, Roar is running the best I've ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed it on all 4 of my rides today. To me, the bumpiness was at a level where it actually added character to the ride. One minor note - I'm usually a big fan of S:ROS, but today the blue train had a good case of the "rattles." Still great speed and air time though.

^ This. I just went today to grab a few snapshots of Apocalypse's construction, and my feelings are exactly as alilstronger said. Except Wild One went down at one point... Anyway, here are the photos I took today. This is the first time I've seen the ride in person, and it got me really excited! Not much going on; mainly just work on the station house and the handicap-accessible ramp. May 19th, 2012: Skull Island looks a *little* bit different from last year Looking over from Roar's queue Mmm, look at that twisty-ness. I'm a fan of the paint job. More of the back half of Apocalypse. Apocalypse: When the end of the world comes, don't s*** yourself. Jiffy John, Inc. can help! In other news, Roar was running great today! Onto some more Apocalypse photos Brake run goodness. "Hey Joe, when do you think this ride will open?" "I don't know Bob, maybe when you get off your butt and get back to work!" (June 7th is the current outlook) Station house is looking pretty good. Apocalypse has a good relationship with cats. I always knew they were evil... Hmmm, what's this I see here? I can't wait to be going up that lift hill! More work being done on the ramp. Looking back from the entrance to Gotham City (underneath Wild One). This is what's left over of Skull Mountain: The final drop and turntable guts. Kind of spooky. Extra: Just something interesting I noticed from Superman's queue. It says "...salutes our military...". I think Andrews Air Force Base was having their airshow this weekend???

TPR cruises look like a drunken, wild blast... with awesome quasi-credits! Great PTR. But after reading this I have one thing on my mind... The Big Coloring Book of Vaginas...
