  1. You and I, sir, are eye to eye on this. Nitro is one of the most exciting and, oddly, pleasant coaster experiences in my book. It's just pure, unadulterated FUN. Glad to see you enjoyed it. That and Apollo's Chariot. I really do love these "classic" B&M hypers too. And about El Toro... KILL THE NONBELIEVER
  2. ^ I was up there with a friend last October and all the coasters were running. We didn't do many flats, but I don't remember seeing anything noteworthy closed. So the answer to your question is YES! I would recommend going sometime before Halloween and/or buying a Flash Pass.
  3. ...your room decorations include park maps on the walls, a CoasterDynamix Statix model, a rollercoaster calender, and a broken Schwarzkopf proximity sensor
  4. You know, I think one of the previous times I posted in this thread it was on E, and I try to abide by the "only coasters you've ridden" rule, so once again... El Toro
  5. Gone Are The Days (feat. Uyama Hiroto) - Nujabes
  6. ^ You really should. It's all up on Nickelodeons website (at least the specials with the creators' exclusive commentary). It does a wonderful job of establishing its own identity while tastefully paying homage to its predecesor. Personally, the only criticism I have was that the ending was rushed and maybe some corny/forced romance, but still spectacular. I understand though; they were originally only given those 12 episodes to work with. I don't think they knew they would get signed on for 52!
  7. I don't really have a solid ranking either, but there are definitely favorites. However, I've also been trying to think of a mathematical way to deterimine which are my favorites, lol. Just as a note, I don't really take rankings too seriously either, but my technical side finds this kind of stuff fun and I recently learned how to do design selection in engineering. It's not that I need to. It would be really interesting if there's a disparity between what I "feel" and what I "calculate." For anyone that's interested, I will use a decision matrix: Make a list of criteria (air time, positive g's, laterals, sense of speed, etc.), assign them weights using a pairwise comparison method based on how important they are to me. Then rate each coaster on how well they meet the criteria on a 1-5 scale, multiply the ratings by their weights for each criteria, then take the sum. I haven't looked into it, but does Mitch Hawker's algorithm use a similar kind of method?
  8. ^ I like Heaven's Lost Property too. It was FAR FAR out there and just plain silly, and for someone reason I really liked that. I got really excited to see Elfen Lied in your collection. I'm watching it again right now; it's gotta be one of absolute favorites.
  9. Amen. That's all news seems to be most of the time: "Oh oh oh let's see what politician _______ has to 'say' about it." Don't give me that crap! Tell me what the hell happened! My thoughts go out to the families of the victims, and I hope this doesn't ruin peoples' movie going experience.
  10. ^ Hell yeah, haha. Seeing DBZ on Toonami was like the gateway into anime for me. If I were to list out the highlights of my childhood, it would be somewhere in the top. ^^ Holy crap that's a lot dude, lol. Gurren Lagann is on my "to watch" list. Sadly, however, I learned about it through this video (I was in that weird part of youtube): Then I searched it up on Anime News Network, and with great joy learned that this video is certainly no basis for judging it.
  11. ^ And all the screaming and grunting when they "powered up". That must have been fun to record for the voice actors.
  12. Haha, anime IS weird, to many people of Western culture at least. Especially where humor is concerned. It's part of the Japanese culture, and some people get it, some don't.
  13. ^^^^ Sam Adams Summer Ale is great! Landshark was my last. Better than Corona, I think.
  14. ^ & ^^ Yeah, it sure looked unsafe. Even on the Google Street View you can see people standing right across the street who I assume are waiting to run for their lives to get into Dorney, lol. Thanks for the input. Hmmm, I might just suck it up and pay for parking. In that case, at least it will make food easier; I can just pack something and put it in a cooler in my car. I have a big expensive weekend so I'm trying to save as much as possible.
  15. Question for you Dorney frequenters/natives. I realized every time I've been to a park I've gone by car and thus had to pay the parking fee. I will be staying at a hotel within walking distance, so will I be able to walk there? The reason I ask is because I've been staring at Google maps for a while now and it doesn't seem like there's an official "sure, come walk in this way!" route to the park.
  16. ^ Awwwww, lol. Give it a chance. Cedar Point plans moved up! July 27-29th!
  17. ^ I can see your point. There are always going to be those cases (not too many, mind you) where guests and even enthusiasts will probably think it's acceptable or just let it slide. I for one, understand that kind of thing-- little kids have relatively little bladders. Employees, on the other hand, are supposed uphold park rules. So if an employee were to see that or if another guest reported it to an employee, then they ask you step out of line, it would be completely within their right and your obligation to obey them. Now, we all know that whether and employee would do that or not is a person-to-person matter. Point is, from guest standpoint, exceptions can be made. From the authority of the park, they cannot.
  18. Yep, thought that too. And speaking of Knoebels related things: I've known about Pheonix since around the time RCT2 came out (2002), which is when I first started spending my time browsing RCDB for hours, haha. This will finally be the year. August 3rd! I can barely contain myself.
  19. Spit It Out - Slipknot I don't know, I like the hard stuff. *shrugs*
  20. One day I will always remember: my 8th grade Music in the Parks trip to King's Dominion in 2005. Got on 4 rides the entire day. Waited 2.5 hours for Volcano. The line spilled out way past the entrance sign.
  21. This is such a great report! It makes me happy to see you really liked Hersheypark because it's long been one of my favorite parks. This just gets me even more pumped to go on SkyRush. Man, I WANT that thing to bruise my thighs. Can't wait to see the next part!
  22. Hopefully next will be King's Dominion. Then in early August I have a 3-day trip planned for Knoebels - 1st time on Pheonix! Dorney Park - to check out Stinger Hersheypark - Skyrush! Then I have tentative plans for Cedar Point. Hope they work out. Overall, a great season for the Mid-Atlantic states. So many new coasters and rides to try out!
