Adventuredome Discussion Thread
fpsphil replied to gisco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Im really really interested to see how the final layout of this ends up coming out. With the lastest photos i think It will end up going over the station before doing a final drop down into the brake run and station. We will see tho, really keeping an eye on this rides construction. -
Was out at the park today, had a great day, really really light crowds. Interesting thing from today is they took off those little restraint check things on Xcelerator (the ones that turn green when the restraint is down far enough). The lapbar seems kinda naked now without it. Also Monte was down today for some strange reason with just the train sitting in the station with no visible activity around it, hopefully that gets fixed soon.

I just want to post here and give a HUGE thanks to Knott's Berry Farm for pulling out all the stops again this year for WCB. This year was by far the most fun I've had at the Knott's day of the bash, and overall day I've had since 2010. The log ride tour was simply amazing taking us to areas we didnt see during the 2011 tour plus seeing all the fresh new work on the transformation was simply amazing. ERT was perfect, with lots of rides open and more then enought time to get on all the rides I wanted too mutiple times. And yes, i hope we do get a Charlie Brown: Drop of Good Grief on Xcelerator's Top Hat THANK YOU KNOTTS AND ROBB!

Just got back from the park today and man it was hot. YOLOcoaster was down for over 2 hours in the afternoon due to overheating which worries me for the upcoming summer season when it comes to it's reliability. Finally got my first run on lex Luther and what a drop (kinda weird I haven't been to the park since wcb and there were 2 new rides. Overall pretty fun, got super crowded later in the day with all the YOLOers started showing up. On a side note, the full throttle plaza needs a lot of work still. It's like they just threw up shit last minute to get the damn ride open, kinda sad looking. The YOLOstage was temporary, there were still footers for log jammer on the hill. And what was funny I saw a few construction workers working in the area still doing landscaping and work on the fences. Hopefully they clean the area up and make it look a little more permanent but I highly doubt they will. Rides great though, the hangtime was great, way above what I expected.

The Off-Season Survival Thread
fpsphil replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I will enjoy this offseason with short lines at Knotts. Ahhh the joy having a year found park in your back yard -
Knotts is very lax in my experience in terms of rerides, especially when there are no lines. I have sat on xceleratoe for 2+ hours without getting off before on a off season Thursday afternoon right after school started.

God i wish we had coasters and parks like that here in the states and especially California, i dont think anything can match that view. -
Favorite Coaster Sounds
fpsphil replied to TheAmazingCP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
definitly has to be the xcerleator launch sounds, the brakes dropping and the signature launch whirl -
Was at the park today, perilous broke down as usual a couple of times but got one of my final rides on it . Park wasn't that crowded overall. Talked to a few employees I ran into about the future of the perilous site, I guess rumor amongst the employees is plans for a large scale Giga have been scrapped because of noise issues (apparently the neighbors across western even have problems with the employee parking lot noise levels) but hopefully these are just rumors and something large scale plays out for the site and there isn't a issue with the neighbors.

Was out at the park today, wasn't that crowded. The new coaster site had survey markers out on it today and the area of the parking lot nearest the Star Tower was fenced off probably for preparation for construction and grading in that area. Other than that lines weren't long didn't wait more than 5 min for anything all day.

First time i got a ride on GL i went with my friend who was on the heavy side of things and had a wild ride flipped about 4 times. But ever since then its been always balanced rides which absolutely kills the ride experience. I guess the only way to have a wild ride is to take a friend whose on the heavier side of things with you to the park.
