  1. I don't think we would be seeing the surgical removal that we are if it was going to the scrapyard. Seems like its being unbolted and not cut from the photos posted yesterday.
  2. Been watching the webcam for past hour or so. Seems like they are cutting the steel roof structure over the station. Based on earlier images track is being removed non destructively
  3. I wonder if Knotts got a discount for having a experimental mondial replacing a failed mondial that was in the exact same location
  4. Interesting 1:30am here in CA, cannopy is off the station and there are workers walking around with flashlights. Train in station will be interesting to see what exactly they are able to accomplish tonight
  5. Just saw this, honestly I'm leaning more towards wanting and expecting to see a RMC in there then a dive machine. Edit: Has there been any mystery dive machine track spotted at the B&M plant lately?
  6. Cracked open google earth to kinda get an idea of the space Knotts looks like they are opening up. If you include the area around sky tower they have a little over 62,000 square feet of space, of interesting comparison Xcelerator takes up around 61,000 square feet so Knotts could add a fairly large and good ride in this space with some creativity.
  7. I used to go to Knotts by myself at least once a week. Wasn't lonely at all and actually enjoyed it. Made friends with alot of the employees and ride ops, plus being a single rider got to slide into empty seats alot quicker and get on rides faster. Have done SFMM a few times solo too, makes it fun to just do what you want and not have anyone wanting to ride something else or do something else can just go at your own pace.
  8. RMC t-Rex. Could get it prob cheap as well being a prototype and first production model. A creative layout could fit nicely in the boardwalk
  9. Local news reports stated that this was a planned operation and OCFA already had this procedure ready to put into place on this ride. There was very little discussion about what they were going to do and how to do it according to one of helicopter reporters who was listening to the scanner which means it was simply a action plan they already had that they deployed. High roller in Vegas also has a similar evacuation plan with repels and rope work. Only change I can see happening on sky cabin is the addition of a emergency kit like the one that's on high roller if it didn't already have a small one.
  10. I thought something was up this afternoon. Went to the park today, didnt get to the back corner by xcelerator until around 1:45-2 and it was stuck in the middle and there was a staff member at the entrance of sky cabin. Thought it just had gotten stuck during morning testing had no idea anyone was stuck even when I left the area around 3:30-3:45. Weird that it took so long for authorities to be notified. I knew they were working on it on the top while waiting for xcel I could see the hatch at the top of the tower open with the lights on but had no idea anyone was stuck until I got home and turned the news on.
  11. Got a question regarding the Flash Sale. I signed up for the membership last year at the sale rate with the free gold upgrade, do i need to cancel and restart a new membership to keep the low price I've been paying per month. Trying to figure it exactly
  12. I'll know when it is opened because all the banter and complaining will stop in the forum lol
  13. Reading these reports of fast TC operation makes me think someone finally read my surveys that I always put in caps to improve TC operations.
  14. YOLOcoaster says "Hi." Honestly revolution has a way more interesting layout then YOLOcoaster
  15. its always possible they allow single riders to go up flash pass line, honestly they should just do that for every ride in the park
  16. I can see the trims being at least softened. I think part of the reason the trims were on so hard was due to the headbanging associated with the old restraints. With these new trains and redone restraints i wouldn't be surprised if the trims are cranked way way down
  17. Good running into you on TC tonight! I went by new rev on my way out tonight train wasn't on the transfer so I'm assuming it was in the station. Only was at the park for a hour and a half. TC was running great other than its down time. Still needs to get the lift hill programming and blocking reprogrammed.
  18. About a month old now, but for everyone's viewing pleasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77khqb8AVfA I apologize if this was ever posted but I went through each page and didn't see it. video removed?
  19. I drove by ghost rider last night... And there was new wood on the woodie
  20. I think an air race would be better suited for the plant seeker location. Would also require less changes to infrastructure as compared to the riptide pad which would have to be reprofiled in order to accommodate an air race
  21. I'd think the tatsu repaint has been put off and continues to be put off because the rides height above the hill would make it more difficult then other rides most likely to repaint and thus more expensive.
  22. As someone who lived in he San Jose/Santa Clara for 2 years being originally for SoCal being surrounded by things to do and parks to visit I can definitely say that the Bay Area would lose a major major attraction would CGA ever close. There simply isn't much to do up in NorCal come winter time and I always found myself at CGA whenever I had a chance when it was open for the season.
  23. Whatever they do with the trains they wont have an axle for one of the cars as its sitting on my shelf
