I actually hated roller coasters until I was about 12 years old. Then my best friend from NY basically forced me on some and I started liking them a bit more...when Kumba opened in 1993 I was hooked, it was my first 'big' coaster and I loved it! I started to get a bit more involved in the coaster community when I was about 16/17. Now I've been on over 500 coasters so I guess I'm involved a lot! Elissa "awww, Kumba is old!" Alvey

Yeah I agree...stay at the Wingate, it's really nice, walking distance to the park...and it's really nice (for a typical hotel). We got it for about $70 last August. Elissa "but don't get me started on the La Quinta Inn across the interstate!" Alvey -
Nice, you got it! Elissa "stupid babel fish not having it!" Alvey

^Only if you tell us what that means! :dork: Elissa "stupid american" Alvey

Right now you look okay... http://wildadventures.net/concerts.asp Make sure to check that site a bit closer to your date though...you do not want to be anywhere near that park on a Concert day! Elissa "2 hour lines for the SLC!" Alvey -
I would love to be able to drive Manual...I've tried before and I suck! The main reason I need to be able to is so I can do those Racing Schools! Oh well, Robb can drive stick so I'll just watch him! Elissa "stupid girl" Alvey

Just saw The Forgotten... Very good! Better than I thought! Although the 'alternate ending' was kind of dumb. Elissa "hmm what to watch next" Alvey

Most normal days you could finish up Wild Adventures in a half day, however if you are there on a date when there is an event going on it will not be enough time. When are you planning on visiting? A day should be enough at SFoG as well as long as you get Qbot (maybe even Gold depending on the crowds). It is about a 3 - 4 hour drive between the two parks depending on traffic. Elissa "hope this helps!" Alvey -
Battle of the Manufacturers

^On some of those evil Toboggan rides it feels like that lift is beyond 90 Degrees!!! Elissa "ouch" Alvey -
^Who knows! They could do one of their "Alice in Wonderland Tea Parties" for the kids at the National Parks! Or how about rafting to a picnic where you go on a Disney Scavenger Hunt. There are really no limits to what they could do with this idea! Elissa "there are so many Disney Enthusiasts it could work!" Alvey

^Who runs this site? Yeah, exactly, it's not going to be corrected anytime soon! Elissa "how do you say Donkey in German?" Alvey

But not a fisheye lens!!! That just distorts everything and makes it look so bad!!!! Elissa "not a fisheye lens enthusiast" Alvey

http://www.gojump.com/ They charge way too much though! Elissa "no accidents on this one yet!" Alvey -
^And make sure to ride the "Spine Adjuster" kiddie coaster a few times at Lakemont! Elissa "my back still hurts!" Alvey

The only permanent locations I know about in the US are Dallas, TX and Wisconsin Dells. Elissa "sometimes they travel to fairs and spring break locales" Alvey -
Help me help my Friend Please

Start small and work your way up! Also try a coaster with a fast lift hill. It never feels like you're up 300 feet on Millennium Force, but Desperado and the other hypers take forever and you feel very high up! Elissa "when all else fails, bribery works" Alvey -
favorite ride or rides at dorneypark and why?

It's a good stopover on the way to other parks! Elissa "I'm with Robb...it's all about Wild Water Kingdom!!!!" Alvey -
Great Thread! SFA & SFAW - Both of these parks have some great rides and SFAW has really nice theming! I know on the Europe trip a lot of the ACErs hated Heide and Asterix, but I loved them and didn't even have enough time to do everything I wanted! Elissa "when do we start the most OVERRATED park thread!?" Alvey

Hyper coasters Vs. Wooden
SharkTums replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, these "one-trick ponies" are wearing thin. Hypersonic was one of the first and it was a REALLY good trick! All these tall, fast, launched coasters have been that same trick! Storm Runner is my favorite of the Intamin Launched and it's smaller and slower than most! Elissa "wishes some more of the Intamin Woodies would be built!" Alvey
