  1. ^haha, he said flow. The eight year old boy in mean can't help but laugh. Block brakes. Especially rides that have three or more. It's kind of weird, but they don't even have to be on to piss me a little off. I would rather that rides like Pandemonium or Rip Ride Rockit be lower capacity than have always to pesky straight aways and brake runs.
  2. ^Should of just bought a Mega-lite, themed it to Gladiator or the Bourne series, and been done with it.
  3. Can I say Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit? Not to shade Universal Studios, but this seems like such a waste of $45 million. I guess the logic was that USF needed a staple coaster, but why did they think THIS was a good idea [especially when all four block breaks are used]? It's crazy to think they could have built a heavily-themed Intimidator 305 at a fraction of the cost. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  4. Was Stealth really removed because it was obsolete or because Cedar Point was liquidating? That's news to me. Expensive or not, Stealth was CGA's flagship coaster at time of removal. As profitable as the water park may be in comparison, it still ranks amongst the most surprising coaster removals.
  5. Yeah, but remember that the Golden Tickets are like the Oscars for coaster (SEE out of touch). Amusement Today will still say Millemnium Force is #1 in September.
  6. I'm surpised to see Cheetah Hunt so low, in particular, at the bottom of the pack for BGT's coaster [sin Python]. I thought they had a winner and crowd pleaser with this new ride. I guess the longest line in the park doesn't mean the favorite?
  7. ^See, I don't think we could ever classify Silver Bullet as underrated or even under appreciated. Given that it towers over Knott's and was supposed to be the parks 1-2 steel coaster punch, you can't help but appreciate it. The problem with Silver Bullet is that it's grandeur and 140" height comes out to be a dull 40° 110 foot drop and perhaps the most forceless B&M invert in the states.

  9. I'd bring Stealth back to California's Great America; the park really needed that anchor attraction more than it needed the water park. Even from a non-thrill seekers perspective, CGA is just mediocre in all respects right now.
  10. Nice move by Michigan's Adventure. Glad they decided to add something more than a Snoopy Meet & Greet. Btw, do the Larson Flying Scooters snap?
  11. ^Timberhawk at Wild Waves managed to climb 14 spots. Five years ago, it was in the bottom twenty of woodies (No. 157), it's managed to climb to No.107 this year (only woodie I see that's jumped that far -- 50 spots -- out of the bottom). I don't quite know how this poll works but I'm guessing this is probably due to increased ridership/more riders realizing that this is a relatively decent woodies compared to others. Only other thing I noticed is that Clementon's Hellcat has been on the continued decline as the park can't quite figure out how to help this coaster age well. It used to be top 40 five years ago, now it's no. 78.
  12. Is this the first time that half of the top 10 have been outside of the USA? Times are sure changing, it's great to see China up their on the leader board.
  13. Just a wild thought: 1. Could SFMM make Colossus möbius by reprofiling the ride and, therefore making it the world's longest wooden coaster? 2. Would you put it past SFMM to pull such a stunt and market it as "the world's longest wooden coaster"?
  14. ^^Even still, the real question is... will grounds will break on this project before Flying Turns opens?
  15. Haha, it was a generic question. Not necessarily to KT, I'm pretty sure some else could vouch for whether Jack Rabbit is that good or gad.
  16. Is Jack Rabbit that bad? Never know what to think when so many people rave about it being coaster heaven. It's ended up on the bottom of a couple of lists.
  17. In that case...I've wished Millenium Force had been torn down about five years ago. Tired of hearing about that darn ride plus it's got no loop-de-loops
  18. Really!? Not sure of any B&M that I'd wish be torn down...even Vortex@CGA or Silver Bullet@Knott's bring some joy to riders. After the work RMC has done, plus the old Voyage Trains Predator is now tolerable. It isn't smooth by any means but you will get off in one piece. And I don't think Predator has that bad of a layout, it just needs work. When was the RMC work? I'm with Bobby, the ride was still crap in August 2012, just as bad as I remember in 2004.
  19. ^Isn't Stricker's Grove still open for private functions throughout the year, unlike this ride (which simply sit's dormant during most of the hot summer)?
  20. Found a pov of the ride in its last year of operation. Good ride or bad ride, I couldn't imagine a more desolate place for a coaster, and only open for 18 days per year when the Expo came to town. Are there any other wooden coasters that only operate three weeks a year? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  21. It seems perfectly sensible. Aren't concessions where the park makes a bulk of their profits? I can't recall where I read that only 60% of revenue comes from ticket/pass sales.
  22. I can't stand my anticipation for this announcement, though I'm pretty certain it won't be anything breathtaking. I'm still excited. My guess is that it's one of those Zamperela Giant Discovery's like Black Widow at Kennywood or some similar flat [since it's apparently first of it's kind in the US]. That ride hits close to 150' when it inverts.
  23. You are kidding me right? SFMM has always been my "home park", so to speak. There were years when I went to Disney or Knott's more, but for the most part, SFMM is the park I've visited the most on a year-in year-out basis, and is without question the park I've visited the most. Here's my problem with the park: I REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! That's it. It's not rocket science, it's not a conspiracy, it's not because it's "fun and easy to make fun of the park". The park lost it's way a LONG time ago, it tried to get it back under Jay (and I give them all the credit in the world for trying), but by that time it was too little too late. The damage had been done under Premier and there is no going back. The park realizes this, which is why they must go after the "thrill" GP. So before you make assumptions that we can't appreciate the park, step back and think of those of us who have lived near and loved the park for 30+ years (in my case) and imagine if your local favorite park just abandoned everything that made them once great. Wouldn't you be kind of pissed and not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt? end rant ...
