Agreed. Puck could be MY baby's daddy. Most of the actors on the show have been out of high school for quite some time. Stealing the formula from the original 90210 I guess. In that video, it looks like Fin had dumped Quinn as Quinn gives Fin a dirty look as he wraps his arms around Rachel. My big question is how do they follow up to this season? Seems like they'll get to regionals, but then what? Do they lose and try again in Season 2? If they win, what's next? Did FOX think this show was going to be as huge of a hit as it's become? Ratings for the show are pretty high and last week's episode was the 8th highest DVR-ed recording ever. I've been pulling up the studio recordings of the musical numbers on Youtube. The soundtrack for the show comes out on Nov 3rd. Here's a couple tracks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUZwdbeS2mM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3GP0hinyg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMdEdAAWKMg

Best And Worst Things Ever
JEAPUgrad replied to Manny In England's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
BEST: Watching Tinker Bell get stuck on the zip line from Cinderalla's Castle during the nightly fireworks show at WDW-MK August 2006. The best part was finding out later that evening from a Cast Member-friend that Tinker Bell was being played by a dude that night. Riding Montu without MCBR July 1996 Riding The Beast unbraked, URC Event, May 2001 Filming of Discovery Channel's "The Making of a Coaster" on Lightning Racer, 2001 First ride on The Voyage, back seat, no white knuckles...pure bliss. WORST Kingda Ka eating my cell phone. Batwing eating a friend's cell phone that was in my pocket. Getting food poisoning after eating at a Cedar Fair park...we'll let this park go nameless Witnessing Wild One's fan lift (I think that's what it was called) break just moments after the first Official Ride on Two Face. I swear this must have been an omen. Here's a link for the old lift mechanism http://www.rcdb.com/148.htm?p=6232 Having a bird poop on me while riding Python at Busch-Tampa. Right smack in the face and I didn't realize what it was until I looked at my sleeve getting off the ride. -

I've been told that track work is expected to be completed by January 1st, 2010. It won't be long until that lift is erect with an American Flag and a Christmas tree! Well, maybe a Christmas tree. -

I don't think it's ridiculous at all. I think they shouldn't have put an opening date on the coaster since they knew they were doing something that hasn't been done in a very long time. Didn't they only have documents from one Flying Turns ride to go by? I hope they get things worked out and I'll give them all the time they need to make it right. -
Not necessarily true. GCI announced that they would put MF's on any wooden coaster as long they could more than likely retrack the coaster and it didn't mess up the forces. Somewhat of an example, Wildcat at HP. It was already a GCI coaster but it used to have PTC trains. The change made a slight improvement in terms of ride ability. I usually ride it 3-4 times a visit now versus once in a couple visits with the old trains. The camera is still in a lame spot still. I think Wildcat had a much needed re-tracking a couple of years ago that didn't help too much. The MF trains are great trains. I'd love to see a little TLC to SFA's Roar. The second GCI coaster is becoming rougher each season. It's getting to the point where I wouldn't ride it more than once a visit because its just too rough.

Calling All Coaster Enthusiasts!
JEAPUgrad replied to bigjohnson51's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Name: Joe Halley Age: 29 What is your roller coaster count? 167 What is your home park? Six Flags America though I go to King's Dominion more often even though it's not as close as SFA. I live 5 miles from SFA. What is the nearest big city? Washington, D.C. What is your occupation? Professional Baseball Umpire. Out of season as a consultant with multiple hotel management companies. About how many times a year do you visit a park (including your home park)? 20 About how many times a year do you travel to a park that is not your home park? 17 When you travel do you go primarily to amusement parks or do you also try and hit other sites? Primarily amusement parks but will make side trips such as to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when hitting Cedar Point (flying in and out of Cleveland's airport). What is the farthest you’ve traveled to go to an amusement park? Vegas. Living on the east coast, I haven't made it to Cali yet. Does roller coaster time get in the way of family time? (Do you choose to miss your children’s or family’s sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc…) No. I have a partner that shares the hobby and we don't have kids or anything. My immediate family often tags along on my roller coaster journeys. Do you have any other major hobbies? Baseball, of course! Die hard Baltimore Ravens fan too! Do you get feelings of sadness in the offseason? Do you even have an offseason? Do you travel during the offseason? Not usually. If I've had a great season of traveling, I can make it through the off season without coaster depression. This season will be rough as I didn't nearly travel as much as I have in the past. Not as many games this year due to the rain and with the economy scare in the media... Do you consider yourself friends with someone you met who works at an amusement park? (Or reverse it, if you work or worked and an amusement park have you made friends with enthusiasts?) Yes. I have many friends and acquiantences who work at parks or engineering firms. Would it bother you to go to an amusement park by yourself? No. Do it all the time. Usually travel distances alone too. Did King's Island/Holiday World/SFKK/Stricker's Grove alone last fall. Have you gone to an amusement park by yourself? If so have you ever ran into another enthusiast and tagged along with them? Of course! Do you find it easy to make friends with other enthusiasts? Usually yes. The community is so diverse and sometimes I choose not to befriend someone for reasons such as politics, personal beliefs, bad reputations, etc. I'd rather watch the drama from a distance and not be in the middle of it! How do you get your coaster news? Screamscape, NewsPlusNotee, URC, TPR...in no particular order. How many different forum sites do you regularly post on? Three coaster related. All different screen names too! Two for baseball; one for baseball fans, the other for umpires. If there was a poll that asked a large pool of enthusiasts what their favorite roller coaster is, what do you think would be the top 3 responses be for wood? And for steel? Everybody has an opinion and I just worry about my own. Same scenario but for amusement parks, what would be the top 3? Based off of the fanboys on the various amusement parks sites, I'd have to say Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and .... drawing a blank. My personal three would be Great Adventure, Islands of Adventure, King's Dominion (yes, over Cedar Point). Have you ever “stole a kid” to get a credit on a kiddie coaster? No. The who idea of "borrowing" a stranger's kid for the sole purpose is border line pedo for me. It's just creepy when you think about it. If you borrow a friend's kid, that's ok, but a complete stranger? Weird. Do you cut other categories out of your budget to make trips to parks? (Entertainment, fast food, holidays, tobacco or alcohol, etc…) With my hotel connections, I travel cheaply. I often get discounted hotel rooms for around $25 a night for the Choice Brands, $39 for Marriott. If I fly to a park, I'll fly Southwest on a web only discount and book an $8.95 rental from Hotwire weeks out. I don't mind taking the chance that I'll have to cancel a trip and lose out on the $10 rental. It's worth the risk to me. Before you visit a new park do you research the park finding the best way to navigate the park, get the best deals, or what days to go? Yes. Do you feel the roller coaster enthusiast community is a warm and accepting community, or a negative and discouraging community? Meh. Skipping this question. Do you like to talk about your hobby with people who are not roller coaster enthusiasts? Yes! Friends and family....anyone who asks what my bnmlover email address means...they usually think it means something dirrrrrty -
Still rooting for a Twins / Rockies series. If that doesn't happen, I don't want to see any other team win but the Dodgers. The other big market teams have won enough in the past 20 years.

^that works perfectly fine in resorts, such as Disney, where there have many other opportunities like hotel room revenue and a restaurant/shopping district, that none of the BEC parks have to my knowledge. Disney doesn't have to suck their guests dry at the gate. They'll get their money by having guests stay on their property for their entire stay. I can't speak of what is out West but I know that both BGA/BGE aren't resorts. BGE is in the epicenter of a tourist destination but the surrounding attractions like Colonial Williamsburg don't contribute to BGE's bottom line.

Fall Out Boy opening up for Blink 182 at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater in virginia Beach this past Friday night. FOB was decent and Blink totally effin rocked! Great show!

Cito Gaston sucks or so my tee shirt says! The tee shirt was created after the All Star Game in 1993 in Baltimore. Gaston was the AL Manager and refused to put Baltimore's Mike Mussina in the game which later lead Mike to getting up and warming up on his own. Cito Sucks

I've only been on the ride a couple times since the change but the only employee I can recall being removed is the one at the first turntable, since its now gone. Granted that one employee sitting there not really doing anything for $7 an hour adds up over 30-40 hours a week for a summer. I love how the seasonal employees at any given park think they're "in the know" on anything going on at their particular park.
