Ferrari World Discussion Thread

That's not sped up. The thing is going 149 mph, it's going to look fast. -
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. GhostRider was not that bad the several times I rode it during West Coast Bash. Then again, it had just come off its rehab not that long before the Bash, but I thought it was an excellent coaster. I've ridden MUCH rougher and MUCH worse coasters than that. I even took a couple laps in the back car (both rows) and despite a couple rough patches, didn't think it was bad. Rampage was probably rougher in the back seat, and we all know how much I love that ride.

I believe the video was a leak and they weren't ready to officially announce it yet, hence the name "Kid's Coaster" in the video. I'm sure it was a rough copy of the announcement video they wanted to make, and then someone got their hands on it and leaked it out. I'm sure we'll see the real video whenever they decide on a name for the ride formerly known as Mr. Six's Dance Coaster.

The track is kept in a grass field that's fenced in, but the gate to that fence is not always locked. When I was at BGT last Wednesday, that gate was open, but when I was there on Sunday, it was closed. They also don't have any security personnel there, either. Our new poster friend did nothing illegal or wrong.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

^I wouldn't rule out a Zacspin going in the former Demon Drop site just yet. There have definitely been grumblings about that since DD was removed. -
I've said it before, and my stance won't change. How could anyone seriously think that a wildlife preservation park would make a ride themed to hunting cheetahs? Even if it wasn't a wildlife preservation park, why would ANY park make a ride that was themed to hunting cheetahs? My one huge point remains. If the name "Cheetaka" hadn't been leaked early, the backlash for this name would be tenfold less intense. People are just pissy because they were wrong on the inside scoop, and now they're throwing a mega tantrum because of it.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Skycoastin Steve replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Which people have been saying that? I don't recall a time when one has ever been rumored to be heading to CP. -
I've had In-N-Out only twice in my life and thought it was ridiculously good. I've had Five Guys (burgers) probably 9 or 10 times and while I like them, the outrageous price on them is a turn off. For anyone who is from the Carolinas (or for anyone that visits the Carolinas), try a burger from Cookout. It's just a Carolina fast food chain, and their burgers are heavenly, as are their shakes.

Sky Rocket is a great example of a new coaster with a mediocre name that's still a fantastic ride. I'm on the fence with Cheetah Hunt based solely on the fact that the pacing just seems all whacked out with the straight, flat sections; but I'm never one to judge a ride before I actually ride it, so here's to waiting until the spring!
-
My thoughts exactly. At the end of the day, it's all about ride quality, not name quality. And just as an extra, I've been a cheetah fanboy for practically my entire life, and I'm unbelievably stoked to see the new exhibit. Seeing a cheetah running full speed will definitely be a VERY cool experience.

Code name - a lot of projects have code names To echo what Larry is saying, I know for a fact (meaning I was told in person) that the whole Whyte Lightning thing for Carowinds and/or Cedar Point last year was purposely made by operations staff just to throw people off the trail. Parks can (and will) register for false trademarks and domain names because they know people will discover and spread them. Apparently the domain name for Cheetah Hunt wasn't applied for until just a few days ago, but that doesn't mean it isn't what they planned to do all along. They're a lot smarter than some of you guys are giving them credit for.

Highest Coaster Counts

I agree that CoasterCounter has gotten rather tiresome. Maybe I'll give c-c a try. -
Highest Coaster Counts
Skycoastin Steve replied to RideOpMarcus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I've never seen that site, either. Seems to be mostly Europeans populating the site. I'm pretty sure the counting site you linked to is the most popular one. -
Please post soon. I don't really have a guess at what it will do. The only things I have been able to guess at would be 4500 feet, a dive to the Rhine, three launches, below the tree line... I actually hope that BGE is NOT like BGT's coaster... I would prefer an iSpeed style coaster BUT! I can tell they are looking for a family audience for these coasters thus the 48" height limit. A suitable replacement for both Python and BBW. It's not really a serious idea based on any info, it's more like my Der Fallinfast idea, only more entertaining!
