  1. Prince Desmond said Mujabubukins would be mounted on the train if Big Dipper reopened.
  2. For the record, rcdb lists Insane as being 116'6". Link.
  3. ^I think that was Raging Wolf Bobs.
  4. So I wonder if they walked the entire track and examined the wood, saw if the steel track was still nailed to the wood in all places, inspected to see if any of the layers of track were cracked or damaged in any way, etc.; or if they just stood there and looked at it, saw it was still standing, had no clue in what to look for as far as wooden coaster maintenance is concerned, and then for the purposes of positive press, deemed it could "still run today if it had cars (trains??) on the track." Puh-lease. Edit: I just thought of a good analogy. In 2002, Rampage didn't run for the entire season because Visionland was bankrupt and couldn't afford to run it. In 2003, from all accounts, Rampage was almost unrideable because of how rough it was after sitting dormant with no maintenance for a year. At that point, Rampage was 5 years old. Big Dipper is 85 years old and hasn't run in over 3 years. That's the equivalent of the grandparents in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory getting up out of bed and jumping around singing "I Got A Golden Ticket."
  5. ^^Like the above poster said, if you look at a side view of the hill, it's very drawn out, much like Kingda Ka's hill. I'm sure it won't be a problem.
  6. Shouldn't us SEC East folks be talking basketball instead. I'm still waiting on someone to hit the reset button on the XBox.
  7. ^Also, taking a 200 foot hill at 149 mph would probably obliterate the trains and riders. Brakes on that hill are necessary regardless.
  8. ^They've hinted at the fact that they are going to rename Cheetah Chase several times on their facebook page.
  9. So it "slipped" through over 10 brakes just because of paint? I'm not buying this at all. Even if one or two brakes failed to stop the train, there's no way it would have had enough momentum to get through 10 or more of them. It's not like this thing is rolling back at 100+ mph.
  10. If this turns out to be a dive machine, I'll settle for nothing less than a chocolate splashdown.
  11. I can see it now. "Wikipedia tells us that Northeast Ohio is home to 4.5 million people, so if everyone in Northeast Ohio will just donate 50 cents to our cause, we'll have enough money!"
  12. ^Or I305. I think Rattler would have killed someone in its original state.
  13. ^Soooo will it be called Grifftaka? Or Lion/Eagle Hunt?
  14. ^I was thinking the same thing. But who knows, maybe there's some new kind of braking system they're using that we've never seen before. Or maybe they're counting on when the Intamin cable snaps, it'll wrap around the train and slow it down before it slams back into the station.
  15. ^Maybe with the small 1st hill and the extreme nature of the launch, they don't think anti-rollback brakes are necessary? That's the only thing I can think of.
  16. ^He wasn't complaining about the ride, he was commenting on people who for some reason think that video is sped up. It's a coaster train going 149 mph and people think they sped the video up. Why would they even do that?
  17. ^ I swear, the internet has made society dumber.
  18. Anything I do with the cheerleaders wouldn't be at BGT, because it's a family park, not a make a family park.
