Official LOST Discussion Thread

The one thing that seemed a bit strange to me was while in the sub when Hugo asked Jack about Sayid, and Jack said "There is no Sayid". Just an odd way to put it if you ask me, who knows, maybe I'm reading too much into it. -
^ I'll post a few larger images of I305's restraints and Fahrenheit's restraints. Notice the areas on the restraints I circled. On Fahrenheit, the restraint does not directly connect to the train, but sort of curves to connect with the head rest. On I305 it appears the restraint directly connects to the head rest rather than making a curved shape. Image Credit: coasterimage.com

Major League Baseball Thread

^I don't think it would work out very well. First off, you couldn't change the divisions up very much because of the different time zones in the United States (i.e. you couldn't have a west coast team traveling across the country to play an east coast team 9 times per year and vice-versa). Perhaps, if they made minor changes that would just switch teams who were somewhat close to the other teams in the division it could work out. I think a better idea would be to reduce the number of times division teams match up per year, maybe from 18 to 10. -
What are your "firsts" of 2010?
kingsdominionlvr replied to Pingu1651's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First Park: Six Flags America (they open 6 days before Kings Dominion) First Coaster: Roar or perhaps Mind Eraser First New Park: Canada's Wonderland sometime this summer First New Coaster of 2010: Intimidator 305 First Food Bought: Hamburger from Johnny Rockets -
I'm quite surprised NBC aired the video of the crash. Hopefully, they can find some kind of padding to place on the wall (or whatever it was) the guy slammed into after he shot off of the sled.

^ I rode it in 1996, I didn't mind it, though it certainly was no where near one of my favorite coasters. I would compare it to Anaconda (KD) now as far as roughness goes. Basically, Griffonluv, if you don't like Anaconda, you wouldn't have liked Drachen Fire. One of my friends says he rode it shortly before they closed it for good, and the roughness was unbearable. But, when I rode it, I had no problems with the roughness.

I'm not sure its really a matter of keeping them a secret. Based on how half-hearted the blog and photo gallery have been maintained over the months of construction; I think the trains weren't unloaded yet from the crates so they said screw it and just snapped a quick photo... You're probably right. I guess we'll see in the next few days if they really are doing this to agonize coaster enthusiasts, or they need to unload the trains before they take a picture of them. It has been two days since those pictures were taken, I would've thought they would have got new pics uploaded by now, maybe John Pagel has not gotten back down to the construction site yet.

Firstly "what a dingus?" LOL! dude your saying in Belgian."What a stuff?" Why do I blame food network for learning this? Damn you, Bobby Flay! Anyway, they don't want us to see the trains because they are a new design by Intamin that hover over the track and require NO restraints at all (good news for ACErs). Perhaps, they may even blindfold everyone during the ride to shield us "coaster enthusiasts" from the awesomeness these Swiss hovertrains will deliver.

Same here, I'm just going to try to get back to I305 asap, and take the hit of waiting a little longer to ride rather than taking the hit to my wallet to be one of the first riders. But, for anyone who doesn't really want to ride I305 badly, I wouldn't show up opening weekend. I remember the first day Dominator opened, I was about an hour late getting to the park due to the traffic on I-95, the line stretched far out before BEGINNING of the queue for Dominator the whole day. I have a feeling the lines for everything will be a nightmare opening weekend.

^ Surprisingly, I have not heard as much criticism of the ride as I expected originally. To me, I305 has some flaws that many people don't mention. I know a few people who already are decided that the ride will be awful, but I know a lot of people that have already decided the ride will be the best in the world. I don't believe animations of any new coaster can accurately portray the ride experience, but I have went down to Kings Dominion since I305's track was completed, and it looks great. Bottom line, more people have already feel in love with I305 then I was expecting when I first heard all of the details of the ride. I think from the limited resources we have to judge the ride on, it has some great elements, it has some not-so good elements, but ultimately I really am not going to have a full fledged opinion of I305 until April 2nd. If you were referring to me as a fanboy, its understandable due to my username, but I actually prefer Cedar Point or Six Flags Great Adventure to Kings Dominion any day. It's just that living in Northern Virginia, I visit KD a lot more than other parks like Cedar Point or Six Flags Great Adventure. Hope that clears everything up.

^ I agree. It's not like the trains and their restraints are going to change from now until Opening Day. Besides, only a couple of more months anyway till we can see them. I have a feeling someone will get a picture of the trains before Opening day anyway. I doubt they will resort to night testing just to keep trains hidden from coaster enthusiasts, that would be impractical and sort of pointless because the majority of people that go to Kings Dominion are not coaster enthusiasts, they could care less about what type of restraints, what color the trains are, etc.

Most of you have probably seen this, but for those who have not.. I present Georgia fanboy.

Conan really got a bad shake with NBC. He has worked there for 17 years, and even turned down more lucrative contracts with FOX to stay and eventually become the Tonight Show host. His dedication to NBC has been undoubtedly solid, and it really is sad they basically wanted to demote him to 12:05 without even giving him a year to build the show's ratings. I honestly think, eventually he would have started doing better in the ratings. As for Jay Leno, a lot of people and bloggers really seem to think he is the villain in this story which is completely untrue. He gave up his spot on the Tonight Show, which I think he really did not want to leave, so Conan could stay at NBC. The Jay Leno Show was getting the ratings NBC Universal expected anyway, but the affiliates were unhappy with the drop in ratings for their local news programs. That's not Jay's fault, its NBC's fault for failing to realize that this would happen. Now, if the reports are true, he has been offered the Tonight Show back from NBC. I cannot blame him for wanting to have his old job back. Hopefully, this works out well for both Jay and Conan. I'd say we will see Conan at FOX or maybe even ABC. And, if Jay gets the Tonight Show back, he should do great in the ratings again. As for what team I am on, I have to go for Conan. The hair breaks the tie for me, also he is just a little more hilarious then Leno. If he gets an 11:30 or 11:00 time slot at Fox, I'll be watching Conan rather than Leno or Letterman for that matter.

Kings Dominion seems to have a site up for Planet Snoopy, unfortunately, it really does not have anything on the names of the rides. Also, they now do have a section of the attractions page for Planet Snoopy, but it does not have the re-theme names either. Here is the website, if you are interested, like I said though it does not really have anything on their about the ride names. http://planetsnoopy.com/kingsdominion/
