  1. A note on the chart on the last page: I've been on both Hypersonic XLC and Stealth, and the latter was a far cry from the former in terms of launch intensity. Hypersonic was honestly the most intense of a coaster I have ever ridden, just for the launch alone. Stealth felt like a small Kingda Ka. Just my two cents, don't know how that translates onto the data.
  2. Reposting because he ACTUALLY QUOTED THE ENTIRE SOLILOQUY. I had to memorize that back in high school. Mad props for making my day, bro.
  3. My thoughts exactly. It's like when BGW had that Captain Kangaroo show; I was about six at the time, and it was the first and only time I had ever heard of Captain Kangaroo as a child. Sometimes it's best to let things go. What's really worth noting is that Daniel the Tiger is a PBS show produced by the Fred Rogers Company. I don't know how popular it is, but seeing as it's based on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood it seems like the logical thing to do. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Tiger's_Neighborhood
  4. I really love this, way to take a unique approach. This is how you build small with quality!
  5. OH MY FREAKING GOD JUST STOP ALREADY STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP If you don't have anything to say of value, just don't say it. Please. If you've already said what you are about to say, don't say it. Chances are the few brave souls who actually read this thread have heard you say it. If you are about to post ANYTHING, stop and read it. Read it again. Does it make sense? No? Then don't post it. I'm not trying to backseat-mod here, but holy cow please, I know many of us are from the upstate region and this is the park that we feel connected/fanboy-ish towards but there is a fine line between enthusiast and enthusiast with no knowledge of how parks operate and/or self-perception of one's status as an enthusiast. And many of us are no longer even toeing the line at all. This was the announcement. Darien Lake has not implied there will be any other announcement. When they do announce such an announcement, then speculation can begin. If not, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY USE THIS THREAD:www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35614
  6. He also walked across the Grand Canyon this past year. It was SIGNIFICANTLY more terrifying than his Niagara Falls walk, a lot more wind.
  7. Any Stengel-dive/dive loop:
  8. I would say that Superman: Ultimate Flight at Over Georgia is significantly better than the others layout-wise. It was the first of the clones to be built and was actually tailored to the environment.
  9. Nice to see Woodan getting some belated love. It was really top notch when I rode it over this summer, considering I was expecting mediocrity given its early reviews.
  10. I actually like the concept of this thread; I hadn't really consciously processed the different kinds of enthusiasts you could be. I would say that I am a mix of Coaster Designer and Creator. In the end, it's all about the sequence of elements and how the coaster rides, but I have to be honest that the layout of a ride seems more "right" if it has an inherent symmetry and composition. EX: Yea Nay
  11. This is really cool stuff, I'd love to see more people mixing programs like you and A.J.
  12. I always reference Screamin' Eagle in this type of a situation. 92 foot drop and 62 mph: rcdb.com/44.htm
  13. After all the drama this whole story just makes me happy. Glad to see so much interest at the job fair.
  14. Cool cool cool. A man abandons his dying wife's side to take his daughters on a trip to Kauai to see someone else.
  15. ^That is all very very valuable information, thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum! You should stick around.
  16. I say the next area on the list should be Hook's Lagoon, that place needs to have it water guns and dump buckets fixed up and, oh yeah they should reopen 'Cuda Falls so the Swirl City/Torando/Big Kahuna area doesn't get 2 hour wait lines! Sorry Geauga Dog, this isn't the best place to find information on what will actually happen at Darien Lake at any point in time.
  17. Considering how long it took the park to place all the footers (or at least how long it felt through months of following the progress here), I really love how quickly the track is going up! Also, what did we ever do before remote-controlled drones/helicopters with cameras on them?
  18. I remember the sad day when school became too important for me for my parents to pull me out for vacations...It was felt especially with Disney, as school break times are just about the busiest. I guess living in Orlando makes that a little less of a problem when you can go over the weekends or the like.
  19. Finals over...don't have anything to do for three weeks...Welp, time to raise my post count!
  20. I've got no story but wanted to say congrats!
  21. Voted! Always love a good lights display, and this one looks great!
