  1. Not enough room. The spot Dragon Fire is on could be used for a family coaster, or a spinner. But a big floorless wouldn't fit there.
  2. It wouldn't be all that long as far as hypers go. That's not nearly as big a space as it looks. A 200 foot lifthill alone would take up close to the length of that pond.
  3. ^ I've thought the same thing. That space along with the stretch along the 401 would make the perfect spot for a long hyper. But it's probably unlikely to happen.
  4. I can't quite tell what area of the park that pic is of. It looks more like the pond behind White Water Canyon, than the pond by Minebuser and Splash Works. If you're reffering to by WWC, there's not nearly as much room there as you'd think. Though the area around Minebuster and Splashworks has the perfect amount of space for a really good coaster.
  5. Whoa, the page changed over night. I just assumed they still had the crappy site up. Lat night it was just a logo and a ticket order page. Now it's a full website. Weird.
  6. That's not going to change anytime soon. The praries doesn't have the population to support a big ticket park.
  7. What layout? It's just a logo which links to a Six Flags ticket purchase application. This "website" would have taken a high school student 15 minutes to make.
  8. None of the attractions listed are major draws. Marineland is a joke. Darien Lake neglected. Ontario Place is fun, but is mostly a school trip resort. Centerville and Santa's Village are barely even known about.
  9. Well you could argue that a major new attraction could change Wonderland from a local money pit, to a bit more of an American vacation spot. As it stands now Wonderland gets the vast majority of it's business from GTA residents. But to be honest I don't think any amount of money is going to make a big enough impact. At least not enough of an impact to justify the cost. Or the fact that they'd only be pulling people away from the Ohio flag ship parks. If more people visit Wonderland instead of Cedar Point, that doesn't really mean anything to CF.
  10. Kind of a half assed solution if you ask me. All that is, is a quick new logo which links to a Six Flags ticket ordering page.
  11. Running an amusement park is a business, not a game of RCT. Being the highest attended park, while nice does not make us a lock for a 500 foot roller coaster. Cedar Fair will give Wonderland what it feels it needs, not what it deserves. A $25 million roller coaster being something WE would want, is not what the park needs. To be honest the park doesn't really need much at all and it will still be successful. I would love to see a decent roller coaster built here. But at the same time I'm not going to get my hopes up too much.
  12. Look closely in the screen shot image. Look on the hill at the right of the image. You should see the train.
  13. Wait, you're not a stone cutter are you. There's a super secret handshake proticol you have to enter for these testing videos to work. If you don't enter the stone cutter proticol it just logs you out and displays the linke as "thisisjustajoke". I think Wes has the official forms to apply to be a stone cutter trainee.
  14. The problem with Shockwave isn't the trains, it's the boring layout. New trains will not make that ride good. Now if you were to knock it over and build a new B&M ...
  15. Not worth the money perhaps? I hated that ride with a passion.
  16. You gave up too early. The 49th click is the magic click.
  17. Using the XP power toy is quicker, and much better quality. Re-sizing in paint reduces the quality quite a bit.
  18. Who? Tom Hanks in the movie "Big".
  19. I wasn't referring to this song exactly. Just cover songs in general. There's plenty of cover songs out there that are done better then the original artist. Course there's just as many that get butchered.
  20. Like most big cities visiting Toronto is much nicer then actually living there. I grew up in Toronto, and much prefer now living in a smaller town, while still being close enough to enjoy all the good things the big city has to offer. And I agree that CW is a very well run park. Didn't mean to take that away from it by saying it has little competition.
  21. Are you capturing the video via USB or firewire? If you're using USB, then I'd suggest going out and buying a firewire card. The video quality should be a bit better that way. (firewire is dirt cheap if you need to buy a card) A commercial DVD uses higher quality dual layer DVDs, and are compressed and burned using much more expensive equipment then your average $100 DVD writer. But what kind of quality you get is going to depend on how you're compressing and burning your footage.
  22. Canada's Wonderland population base is probably closer to 5 million when you take into account the entire GTA and surrounding cities. It's simple really. The park has a 5 million population base and zero competition. The only "competition" is Darien Lake and Marineland. Of which one park was neglected, and the other is so poorly run that it takes 3 years to setup a flat ride. Cedar Point on the other hand has a fraction of the popuation base, and that population base is shared with a handful of parks that are close to as good. Canadas Wonderland doesn't need to build a roller coaster because it would not make any difference. The attendance spike on a major ride is extremely small compared to the parks down south. The park is just one massive cash cow.
  23. Congratulations Dave!! I wish you the best of luck.
  24. That's the American moto right?
