  1. Try this ... Right click on the desktop, select properties. Select the Appearance tab. Under Font size select large or extra large. This will make the buttons larger, although the text as well. Not sure if that's the setting you had changed or not though. Edit: From the Appearance tab you can also click advanced, then select "Caption Buttons", increase the size as needed. That should let you make the buttons larger without making the text larger as well.
  2. Well, I think some others have already answered it. But at season pass night it sure looked like they were dispatching pretty quickly. While waiting for Back Lot Stunt Coaster trains were going up the lift pretty often. As to how the ride ops are,etc I really wouldn't know. I haven't waited in a regular line yet. Dispatches were slow on media day, but that's normal what with the extra time to duct tape cameras to the train, etc. Still is. I rode it on season pass night and it felt as rough as before. Though granted I'm a glutton for punishment and pick the back seat.
  3. Ahh, but see there is a big difference between floater and ejector air. Yes, Behemoth is good, and has a good amount of floater air. I was just kind of surprised when people started raving saying that every hill had mass amounts of ejector air. After riding it a day before, I was just having trouble seeing it. Even if it had picked up speed with full trains. Sorry if I lumped you in with my general comment of "hometown bias". All pointless bickering aside, the park does finally have a really good coaster.
  4. Really? It reminds you of Avalanche? Avalanche is a small, simple coaster. Drop, turn, hill, hill, hill, turn, hill, hill, hill, turn, hill, hill, hill, end. RFII is a terrain coaster, with lots of hills, direction changes, etc. Doesn't remind me at all of Avalanche. Unless, the 90 degree turn is reminding you of Avalanche's turns.
  5. Honestly I don't even see the 2nd and 3rd one's being used. Either the first one grabs, or none of them will. If the train is going fast enough to be trimmed, then the first one is going to be used. I just don't see it getting through the 1st one, and then picking up enough speed to get trimmed again. In the media day runs, the 2nd and 3rd trims were never used. I've always thought the B&M clamshell restrains allow more movement. Where as the Intamin restrains pin you into the seat a bit more. The clamshell restrains have always freaked me out a bit more, almost giving a feeling of rolling forward over the bar. In the front seat in particular provides a weird sensation as you pretty much hang off the restraint while cresting the hill.
  6. Nice pics. I'm really looking forward to this. Hopefully it stays on schedule to open the 17th. The sign says Ravine Flyer II is 3 tickets. Does anyone know how much tickets are? I was there last year, but I can't remember. Not sure whether it'll be cheaper to get tickets or a wrist band for a quick stop.
  7. And lazy rivers don't tear up your back, making it look like you were getting whipped across your back. I hate body slides, as the ridges between slide sections just tears up my back.
  8. One thing is sure: Behemoth has better restraints. Oh, definetly! The seats were definetly really comfortable. The extra arm room is probably the main thing I like about the new trains. Sitting in those outside seats you have as much room for your legs and arms as you need. No fighting for a space to put your arm like on the inverts.
  9. Maybe you're just a light weight. I've been on so many rides that I'm desensitized. I just don't feel forces as much as I used to.
  10. Because I have rode a lot of coasters, and have rode Behemoth. And I really don't see it being as good as they are hyping it. It's a very good ride. But in my opinion I don't see it as this crazy airtime machine, top ranked ride.
  11. Sounds like home town bias to me. The rides good, but I don't think it's that good. I'll reserve final judgment though until I can get some full train rides in during the summer.
  12. Well, Nicole mentioned how far SFGAdv is. But really, I don't consider Darien Lakes Ride of Steel all that awesome. Good ride, but nothing I would go out of my way for. I'd definetly say Behemoth is better then it. It's about 9 hours to SFNE's RoS, which I doubt many people from this area have done. About 5 hours to Cedar Point, which some people around here get to do, but definetly not the majority. So there really isn't anything close by that compares. This is the main reason why CW has always topped out attendance at seasonal parks. They have virtually no competition. As enthusiasts we are very spoiled. The average guest around here just wouldn't even consider a 10 drive to get to something better. Most don't even know that these bigger US rides exist.
  13. I think I'd prefer Nitro. Although it's been a few years since I've ridden it. Let me think of how I'd rank the hypers I've been on. I've ridden Magnum, Nitro, Raging Bull, all 3 Ride of Steels, Millennium Force (not technically a hyper but close enough), Pepsi Max,Steel Force, Wild Thing and Goliath (SFMM). Hope I'm not forgetting any. Ranking those I'd put Behemoth behind MF,Nitro, RoS (SFNE), possibly Raging Bull. (I find the ride fun, even disregarding the evil trim) Steel Force,Wild Thing,SFA/DL RoS's I'd put behind Behemoth. Pepsi Max goes way behind. Magnum and Goliath I'd probably put neck and neck. Magnum mostly due to nostalgia. But as I've said before, these rankings could very well change once the ride warms up. Edit: Added Steel Force and Wild Thing to the bottom of the list.
  14. Got a few pics tonight at season pass preview. Probably as good a spot to put them as any. And another new name, new sign. Kind of. Cedar Fair must be buying paint in bulk. Bat is in the progress of having it's supports painted. New name, new sign. More proof that Behemoth dwarves the rides around it. And ends back here. I really think they should have built a larger queue. And keeps going. As expected, the line overflows the queue. Skyline sure looks different now.
  15. I think I'd give the edge to Behemoth. Behemoth's first drop is better then on RoS. Plus I'm really not a fan of RoS' huge slow helicies. And I never really got any major airtime on DL's RoS. I actually found more air on SFA's version, even though they're just mirror images. Both are fun rides, but I think I'd prefer Behemoth.
  16. They've already got a skycoaster. Roller coasters don't scare me one bit anymore. But skycoasters still scare the crap out of me.
  17. ^ That's kind of the thing about this ride. From an enthusiast angle it's nothing too crazy, or anything that's going to blow you away. Just a good fun ride. But the market here is such that very few people have experienced a ride like this. So unlike some of the US markets, this ride is going to be huge for the general public. Good ride for us, best ride ever for the general public.
  18. Well if you HAVE to use the CF pass, then Michigain Adventure would be in that area. But Indiana Beach would definetly be the better choice. Michigain Adventure is kind of a dull park to be honest.
  19. ^^ That was indeed a camera mount. In true Canadian fashion they were duck taping all sorts of cameras too it.
  20. ^ Season pass preview is tomorow, opening day for the park is next Sunday, May 4th.
  21. There's an unzipped version posted, but it's wmv. But you should be able to unzip, and watch a wmv on a Mac. It's a good ride. Maybe not #1 worldwide, but still very good. I'd like to get some rides in after it warms up, and with full trains before I make a final decision on how it rates.
  22. One air gate for each row. So two rows per car. It's real simple, and not confusing like the Deja Vu setups. The trims were on very light on the early runs, only in the back seat could I hear it. They were off totally later on. But most of these runs were with mostly empty trains, so I wouldn't expect the trims to be needed. I think I might have been the only one on the train when the POV was taken. At most a handful of other people were riding at that time, spread between the two trains running.
  23. That's gotta be one of the cutest things I've ever seen.
  24. So today I got to attend Canada's Wonderland's media day for Behemoth. (thanks to Ted for the invite to represent CoasterFanatics). Got in about 10 rides or so, snapped some pics, and even got a craptacular quality POV. Taken on a digicam, so the quality isn't the best, but hey, you take what you can get. Overall I really enjoyed the ride. I think Wonderland was long deserved in getting a marquee attraction. Anyways, on to the pics ... (these pics and the rest can be found Flikr Behmoth_POV.zip Zipped for your pleasure Behmoth_POV.wmv Digicam POV of Behemoth. That's it from Canada's Wonderland. Thanks for reading, and thanks to the park for showing us a good time! Some new signage Empty train Even a Myspace angle doesn't help Minebuster. Naked Sledge Hammer Closeup of the drop. Hammer head. The twist in the drop looks pretty odd from this angle Wheel shot for all you wheel enthusiasts. View of Toronto through the haze. CN Tower is there if you look real hard. Through the hammerhead, sideways. Passing Minebuster Nice view of the rest of the park If you look REALLY hard, the 3rd train is there. Helix, and finale Approaching the hammerhead Going over the top ... I have this strange feeling I'm being watched ... For all you lift hill enthusiasts Peek a boo!! Helix Tilty pictures are all the rage Poor Italian Job looks so small New prototype trains Behemoth towers over Minebuster Queue line. I suspect temporary queues will be required for awhile. What am I here to ride again?
