  1. When I saw that horse picture, I figured they were getting a Steeplechase clone. (Just kidding.) I don't understand why people put OTSRs on those Zyklon coasters. Glad they're coming off. I don't think a Zyklon of this sort has ever done anything for me, but I'm glad the park is getting a decent-sized family coaster. It's kinda nice that "classic" styles of portable steel coasters like this are still alive and well.
  2. Raptor? My most recent verdict was "very good, but not ultra-memorable." It's my fourth favorite coaster at Cedar Point, decidedly trailing Maverick, TTD, and Millennium Force. It's my sixth favorite invert of the twelve I rank, behind Batman, Montu, Flight Deck, Alpengeist, and Talon. Also, I just checked, and it's hanging in there as my #50 steel.
  3. Neat that they will be operating it so fast! The height requirement does seem a bit high for what I usually think of as a family ride, but I know it's for good cause. Maybe next year I can check it out.
  4. Just ended my season with my second best year yet! That was a surprise. Best years: 2011, then 2012, then 2010. 1996: 1 credit 199x: 1 credit 2000: 1 credit 2008: 6 credits 2009: 48 credits 2010: 95 credits 2011: 199 credits 2012: 105 credits Total: 456
  5. The other day someone told me that was probably the worst coaster they had ever ridden. Blasphemy.
  6. The track color sure is striking. Really looking forward to this! Reminds me of when I booked a flight before knowing NTAG's opening date and had to bank on it happening sometime during my Texas trip. Thankfully, it was announced to be the day I would arrive, and that day was a success!
  7. Knocked out three this year, and missed eight mostly forgettable ones, two or three by choice. 8. ^^Good catch. Here I was thinking the total height would be 102'.
  9. They are doing a good job on the teasers. The suspense is driving me crazy.
  10. Great day at the park yesterday! Can't wait for today!
  11. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom now and again tomorrow!
  12. FINE!!! New plan. I will be at the park on Saturday and Sunday. I think y'all knew you would win me over. You caught me.
  13. ^^^^^^What an eerie pic (no pun intended?). Creeps me out a bit. I like it.
  14. I read this as "And across the street, the stripper club is getting a pole too!" And I was like, "Why is that news?"
  15. I think you have that backwards. But seriously, thanks for the invite, all. If anyone wants to meet up at the park on Saturday, feel free to let me know! OH! I also want to get lunch at John's Incredible Pizza in Roseville on Sunday.
  16. !!! Someone please confirm or deny this is still the case! I will be at the park on Saturday and I'm in the mood for an extra credit. I've pretty much given up on borrowing kids for now (way too awkward, even with help from TPR folks).
  17. ^Love that pic! The colors of the rides in that area really go nicely together.
  18. This. Not only are there a handful of fun coasters, but it seems like in recent years most of the more favorable reports about the park (where it doesn't sound much worse than other chain parks, if at all) are from early in the season. That said, if you must skip a park, make it SFA.
  19. ^I'll have to look at some old ballots and see if I have the forces ranked the same for both wood and steel. I'm definitely not the biggest fan of positive G's or laterals, though there are some woodies with laterals so intense, I can't help but appreciate them (Coaster, Phoenix, Giant Dipper...which are overall favorites of mine, as well).
  20. Those trains are the reason I don't totally hate Morgan trains. I'd still prefer the old Prior & Church trains as that's my all-time favorite design, but I'm very thankful the Morgans don't seem to detract at all from Giant Dipper.
  21. I almost never hear anything about this ride. Glad the park is doing well enough to support such an extensive rehab. I'll try to hit up the place at some point, maybe combined with a return to Adventureland?
  22. Reminds me of when someone called out my ballot for "ranking Ghostrider well above Voyage" or somesuch. Yeah, right!
  23. Yay! I'd about given up hope on this. Almost makes up for the lack of the Santa Claw's return. Personally, I'm not sure I'd be too disappointed. I really don't enjoy ranking steel coasters anymore.
  24. ^I was just reminiscing on it again today. + Will we see a comeback some year, or has it run its course? Let's not give up hope!
