  1. I just witnessed two squirrels playing leapfrog. AMAZING.
  2. Okay, I've seen the misnomer "Timber Tremors" before (wonder which of the two coasters they were referring to ), and it didn't really surprise or bother me that much. I actually found it on purpose because I was curious to see if anyone had ever come up with that mistake. But "Timber Trembler"? Really? That's surely the quirkiest misnomer I've ever seen. It's cute because it's still basically a combination of "Timber Terror" and "Tremors", but more creative than "Timber Tremors".
  3. Well, I call it Monte as a sign of respect, or a term of endearment at the least. I agree that "Montezooma's Revenge" would make it sound intimidating and impressive to some people, but still. Incidentally my other main pet name is "Revo" for Revolution. Other people seem to say/spell "Monty" and "Revy", but I've chosen what works for me. In case it isn't obvious, I have no problem with coaster nicknames, except that "Timmy" happens to annoy me.
  4. ^^^^While that doesn't look totally ugly to me, I'm guessing Whizzer probably has really charming cars underneath that, which would definitely make that a disappointment/annoyance.
  5. Personally I'm wondering which days/times of the season they were planning on doing this. I would love to see them do it every day, or at least every day it looks like it would provide enough of an extra benefit considering the crowds. Why? Simply because I don't know when I'll end up going next, and I would definitely like to take advantage of this! $10 seems very reasonable. I'm curious to see what will become of this, and whether it will go over well or if somebody will find some aspect to twist around into something bad and complain about!
  6. I really didn't need to be reminded of the Shark Song...that should be reserved for grade schoolers. Even if that kind of thing were considered acceptable, it definitely sounded unprofessional in that video. I agree that hearing a random children's song would be annoying and pointless to most people--even some children (I never really cared for "camp songs").
  7. ^^^ I kind of think somebody out there just wanted to make a really big word and knew they didn't even need to. Then again, I know nothing about science, so maybe it's so complex that it really does need one really big word to cover it all. What's that one word that has "hippopotamus" in it? Is it the word that means a fear of big words? Answer: hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia, and yes. Yay.
  8. ^^Niice. I was just thinking I had a teacher who said "caddywhompus", but no. She said "gollywhompus". That's not even a real word--only 9 hits in Google. In fact, she was using it as a synonym for "catawampus", but it looks like at least a couple of the Google hits are using it as a term for an animal. (Like the wampuscat? ...Yeah, I looked that up also.) So it doesn't even have a set definition. LOL, I'm enjoying these new words a little too much aren't I?
  9. YES, 7-1 (front row, back car). I'm not lying or trying to make you kill yourself, it's the best. I always avoided the back row and rode as far up as possible, but I finally tried it at WCB and it was great...and, believe it or not...the most enjoyable part of the train. Agreed! I think 7-1 and 1-1 are the seats to ride on Ghostrider. I could definitely tell the difference in roughness between 7-1 and 7-2. I have only ridden Ghostrider at WCB and the roughness did not bother me, as I've been on better (and worse) coasters that were equally rough or rougher. I rate it as good, but not especially memorable--I think it could grow on me with more rides, but it just didn't seem to have a special moment or feature for me; I have to really think about it in order to remember how much I liked it at the time (oh man, it's coming back now ). About the train rehab comment I read earlier, now I know why some people were insisting on the Silver train at WCB.
  10. I just learned that "catawampus" is an actual word. It's actually the same as "caddywhompus". (Which makes sense, now.) What. An. Amazing. Word. Hope to use it soon!
  11. ^I was wondering if Revo has been improved lately, or if it's just that the "lucky" people have been speaking up. When I rode it in March it there was a bit of headbanging, but it was really not painful. (I rode in the front seat and did not ride defensively, and I'm 5'6" which apparently is neither a particularly good nor a particularly bad height for OTSRs.)
  12. Is the real answer 5 cm? I will be so proud of myself if it is!
  13. 4 My Rydas - Psychopathic Rydas
  14. Do you have the Rainbow Chaser credit? If you don't, it looks like it's only $2, and I had no problem getting it last year.
  15. I have played "radio stations" on Last.fm, but that's not how I prefer to use the site. Have you ever searched this thread to see if your planned question had already been asked?
  16. No, I live within about 602 miles of one. Have you ever heard an amazing coaster rumor about your home park only to find out it wasn't true?
  17. Yes, they're a decent novelty. Have you ever walked the wrong way on an escalator?
  18. No, not at all. But I definitely have done that! Have you ever bought a holiday present for a pet?
  19. ^Nerd. I mean, congrats! And have fun!
  20. Does Canyon Blaster have an "Arrow Magic Seat"? Or is that unique to Viper.
  21. WOW, I just remembered Cinco de Mayo is in May, not June!!!
  22. Swinging back around to the [Your Name Here]-Friendly Food topic, here's most of what I'll eat. I will eat: Fast food Junk food Dessert Snacks Candy Lunchmeat Breakfast food Olive oil, balsamic vinegar Cheese Pizza Sourdough, French, or white bread Rolls Mustard, mayo Clam chowder, tomato soup SEAFOOD SALAD!!! Some fish & seafood Bacon, ham, some chicken Some sushi Some pasta dishes Chinese meat dishes Standard "Chinese food" white rice and yellow rice Nachos Olives, mushrooms +many more things, but not every single thing in the broad categories, and much less than most other people I hate: Tomatoes Some other things for sure! I dislike: Vegetables Many, many other things
  23. Rollercoaster (1999) takes place at PNE Playland. It shows Coaster, Corkscrew, the defunct Wild Mouse and Dragon Coaster, and a variety of flats. The characters ride Coaster and Wild Mouse, walk on Coaster, and run Dragon Coaster.
  24. To make some comparisons...I didn't actually find Silver Bullet "forceless" although I didn't find it intense. ("Intense" to me means "scary" more than just "forceful"...those are two different things, right?) At first I considered it mediocre, but it grew on me and I now think of it as a pretty solid ride. I found Flight Deck (CGA) to be very intense. I liked the setting of both Flight Deck and Silver Bullet, for similar reasons. I didn't care for the setting of Batman, unless there's something I've forgotten already! And honestly, setting does play a role in how fond I am of a ride. (I LOVE shameless parking lot coasters, though--so wrong, it's right!) I rode Batman right after lunch, so maybe I needed to get into "coaster mood" again and didn't until I rode Riddlers? Because it seems everyone except me finds it very intense (part of the reason I inquired). Strangely, sometimes I don't notice various forces or ride elements unless I'm actively trying to pay attention to the ride experience.
