  1. Track completed April 18th. First cycle April 28th. Didn't exactly start testing over night. I think that was meant to be a slight to SFMM's notorious track record of being behind schedule. Though, not this time. That fire might have helped shaved some time off construction
  2. Wow. How incredibly mature. If your goal was to look as stupid as the person who was using the selfie stick, you succeeded. Yeah I was embarrassed reading the story. Another lesson in 2 wrongs don't make a right
  3. ^ who knows. According to screamscape, there are no major additions slotted for next year. There's a lot they can still do just to improve the park. I for one will continue to champion a thorough rehab with Rmc topper track every year until it finally happens. It truly makes a world of difference. Then you also got the space where windseeker was, and just fiesta village in general that could use some tlc
  4. It took me a second to get it but then i was like
  5. No small feat considering the intamin mega coaster in the same park.
  6. Wicked Cyclone is testing so hard right now
  7. Anyone else wish that they would go back to the old ways of naming coasters and call this one Vertical drop coaster 1?
  8. Very excited to ride this in the Summer. Will be my first time at HW so with that said, also slightly disappointed in hearing about the trims. Perhaps they'll be adjusted and not so noticeable by the time I ride in mid June.

  10. Really, all they need to do is dial back the trims on Coast Rider and it'd be a fine attraction, imo. Also sign me up for sprucing up Fiesta Village and fixing the boomerang/riptide area
  11. Eh I doubt it. Mr. Freeze is a lot better than most people think (not that the Superman clones aren't awesome). My vote is for the 4D Free Spin. It's completely different than any other coaster the park offers. Having been on both, I have to give it to Superman. It's a solid ride and I wouldn't mind more popping up. The only real downside to the ride, imo, is the capacity.
  12. I don't like that aspect. I wish there was some good air on those hills on the way back. Overall I dig the design. Just needs more pep in its step. Thanks for sharing OP!
  13. Excuse me? Some of us farther south may take offense to that. Kalamazoo's craft brew scene is growing really fast and we already have Bells anchoring. Of course I'm just throwing a fun argument up...but between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Southwest Michigan is truthfully beer heaven! Lets see more bars like the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange too. Nothing like grabbing an expensive beer for cheap because the market crashed (and Bells, Great Lakes, Founders and many other regional, national and international creations are featured there). Anyway, yeah....back to this land clearing...you bring that Hofbrauhouse, I'll bring the money (and credit cards). Enough said! But, in all honesty, I am expecting a Dive Coaster and am rather excited about it if it does come to fruition. Coming from Portland, Oregon, I was absolutely impressed how many breweries Kalamazoo had given how big the town is. There were some quality beer, though nothing that I think could top the stuff coming out of Bend, Or.
  14. Vice wrote a review of the park. Sounds like an experience through the eyes of the gp. Some of it will make you shutter but I found it interesting for that reason http://www.vice.com/read/chasing-adrenaline-and-childhood-memories-at-six-flags-magic-mountain-407?utm_source=vicefbus
  15. When I rode Boss in 2009, I really liked it and thought it ran great. Were the guerstlauer trains as good as PTC's? No. Was it the smoothest wooden coaster in the world? Absolutely not, but most CCI's aren't these days. Still, I didn't quite necessarily understand what seemed like heavy criticism of the ride. It's still one of my top rides which I rank over Ghost Rider (even on a good day) and Tremors at Silverwood. I haven't been on the most elite of wooden coasters but I feel like Boss on a good day can be up near the top.
  16. Why was USH the place he decided was best to off himself? One of the strangest stories I've read. I suppose it's a good thing he only took his own life. It could have been much worse. Thoughts go out to his family
  17. I think that's just the nature of the two businesses. Nobody goes through life without having an issue with their cable companies. On the flip side, almost everyone goes through life wanting to visit a major theme park like Universal or Disney! I wish we could go through life without cable company woes AND awesome theme parks. But if I had to choose between great Internet and sub par themeparks, or the scenario we've got now, I'll take that! Also thanks for the update. Can't wait to get back to USH.
  18. It's amazing how comcast's core business (Internet and cable services) customer satisfaction is at an all time low and their theme parks are doing quite well and I'd even say exceeding expectations.
  19. I havent been to the park either so I didnt vote but I cant deny the intrigue of the airtime buffet on Phoenix
  20. As it stands, Six Flags is the leading franchise when it comes to baby sitting teenage youth. 13-17 year olds don't have much disposable income. And they may be purchasing a season pass and a meal or 2 per visit, but not much beyond that. It's kind of hard to promote growth when that's your main demographic. I think adults tend to expect things like nice bathrooms and shade. If the parents can't enjoy themselves, why bother going with the kids? If the adults aren't going, six flags misses out on those patrons with a bit more buying power to spend on ancillary purchases. Believe it or not, the most lucrative group for theme parks is the 18-34 year old range which is probably about the age range of most people on this site. We as coaster enthusiasts put up with a bit more because we love to ride coasters, but that's a passion I don't think the general population of our peers to hold. It's been a while since I've been to SFMM but from past experiences, I've noticed its always better to go during the late winter - early summer. By about mid summer-fall, operations seem to fall apart, long lines are abundant, its hot, and overall it's just not fun. SFMM still has some work to do but I think they can get there.
  21. Unfortunately USH doesn't have the luxury of space like Florida. While it's not ideal, I think it looks fine overall and I'm sure the area is still immersive and fun. At the very least, the area is better than what it was before. And I have no doubt that when it comes to HP outside sight lines will be minimal or nonexistent.
  22. I expect the reaction to it will be similar to Midway Mania. It wont be mind blowingly epic, but it should be fun and add a bit of variety to the Farm's list of attractions
  23. Looks like coachella has jumped on the coachella ban http://www.dailydot.com/technology/selfie-sticks-banned-coachella-lollapalooza/?fb=dd
  24. It might be only a very close 2nd to WC, but the pacing on that ride looks like it will be ridiculous. Its safe to say, though, when you get an RMC, you get a world class airtime machine! Will be very happy to ride this guy later in the fall
  25. ^ hopefully. Some of those turns looked a bit slow
