Lightning Loops Bolt – electricity, lightning Steel coaster Painted similar colors to a submarine (probably used the same paint too) Built where a Batman clone sits today (Poison Ivy) Batman coasters originated in IL Half the ride is operating and the other half is defunct This coaster was once very desired because it went upside down One of the trains was a blue/white color (color of some clamshells) The defunct half is hidden from view of the GP Supernova was a planned name for a ride at GAdv -

Texas Cyclone - Held together by bolts - Steel strip of over wood track - Located in a boardwalk themed area similar to the original Cyclone – boardwalks are close to the beach, where there’s water and possibly submarines - Made of logs - Sister coaster to another Cyclone clone in IL - Once the number 1 coaster in the world - Clam-shaped headrests later in life - Located in the same park as a Batman coaster (Poison Ivy as a villain) -

Shockwave - Relation to electricity (bolt) - Steel coaster - Trains are similar in color to submarines (grays, whites, and blues). Track was also a dark blue color at one point. - Clams live underwater, which is blue like Shockwave's old track and some clams are blue in color - Located close to Texas Giant (made of logs) - Built by a company that built two coasters in Illinois - Track painted green like ivy (also this pic makes it look like plants are growing all around it like ivy grows around stuff click) - RD totally desires Anton coasters -

Little Dipper Steel strips over wooden track. Located in Illinois Made of wood (Logs) Underneath Batman (which has a villain named Poison Ivy – like a submarine under water) Also located near water rides Highly desired by locals because it’s such a historic coaster Held together with bolts like coasters should be. -

Coney Island Cyclone Near what used to be Thunderbolt (which was covered in ivy before demolition) Steel structure Near a subway (Fast food place that sells submarine sandwiches) Wooden coaster (Logs) Logs also relate to Illinois (known as Lincoln’s home – log cabin) -
Key West/Cozumel rocks! Even though I would've preferred going to Bermuda (and despite the setbacks faced in both ports), I still had a good time in both ports. It totally beats being in a hurricane.

Stupid Moves that Parks have made
netdvn replied to tribar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SF purchasing tons of parks in the 90s and investing millions into each one (while it does sound good on paper) probably wasn't the best idea SF had considering it put the corporation in severe debt and brought down the quality of all the parks in the process. I'm glad SF is finally getting their act together and being a bit more reserved with their new additions. On top of that, CF's naming committee for the ex-Paramount parks. Luckily, they got their act together in recent years, but names like "Flight Deck" and "Drop Tower" were absolutely awful. Actually a lot of parks do that (Nickelodeon anyone?). Even Disney is a victim of this. -

Talk about a drab paintjob, the park has gone the longest of any in the chain without a new coaster & this is what they give us?A 22 year old ride that has seen better days long ago. Maybe, just maybe this will show the folks at corporate that it's a park worthy of investment & we'll get some better rides to come. Is complaining about SFA all you ever do? They're getting something new. Just be happy about that. -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Standing under Mach Tower before the ride opens. Guests can clearly see the huge green walls blocking the entrance and a sign that says "Ride Testing in Progress". They were also given a slip of paper before they enter the park that says Mach Tower isn't open yet. On top of that, the map says "Opening Soon". "Is this ride open yet?" "Where's the entrance?" There's clearly a pretzel shop in front of the gate with a huge fiberglass pretzel and beer sign. "What do they sell here?" "Where's the closest place to eat?" -
I've never had problems with the rotation/drop. You can barely feel the brakes slowing down until you reach close to the bottom of the tower. The spinning only really happens on the set of brakes and doesn't let up until you pass them. Crowds really don't start picking up until around 4-5. Even on a busy day like July 4th weekend. All the Season Passholders come in around that time as well as all the vacationers that want to get some rides in before the next day.

Anyone remember the last time people complained about a new giga coaster? They ate their words after people rode it. Don't judge the ride before you ride it. -

Is the coaster currently operating? Is it located in North America? -
^ Griffon is open during CT from what I understand depending on the weather (and using last year's map for reference). Mach Tower review! Now that the tower's broken in, I can give out my detailed review of the ride. I had the chance to ride Wednesday as part of the employee preview and I'll say that it's definitely an amazing addition to the park. I had four rides in a row. Two on the side facing Verbolten and two on the side facing the park. The loading process is pretty efficient from observations made during the preview and soft opening. The line was constantly moving while the ride was running. Loading the vehicle might slow operations a little because some guests had trouble getting their restraints in. The ride basically starts out on the ground with the music playing. As you go higher and higher, the music becomes more ominous with some occasional static as you move higher up the tower. At the top, the music cuts off, you "stop" for a few seconds (the car just moves really slowly up), the seats vibrate and then you drop. The vibrations added a nice "surprise" factor to the ride. I expected them to be stronger though. During the drop you can barely feel the brakes until you reach closer to the bottom. Airtime on the tower is also pretty plentiful! Unfortunately the seats weren't the comfiest in the world and the restraints ARE kinda tight. Larger riders may have trouble getting into the seats. The view from the top is impressive. Verbolten's area looks huge and the side facing the park looks amazing! I can't wait to see what the area looks like after Verbolten comes in. ** Final notes ** The park looks amazing from the top and this is definitely an awesome addition to the park. This is a ride the park desperately needed to bring up its game in the flat ride department. Was it worth the wait? I'd say yes for all the rides I had. A TPR member walked up to me while I was operating rides. It was a short meetup but definitely fun. I also managed to see Chuck (cfc) standing in line yesterday (at least I think it was him).

Just posted my first review. It was really hard to fit all I wanted to say in 750 characters. Good luck to everyone! -
Crossbow looks like an okay ride. Fun, but not too thrilling! But I'm really looking forward to Verbolten, especially because this is a coaster the park desperately needs. - Complaining that this coaster isn't gonna be a Cheetah Hunt is kinda pointless because both coasters are similar in the sense that both are family coasters. - Complaining that this coaster doesn't look like the next Griffon or Apollo is pointless because it's meant to cater to families. - Complaining that the coaster isn't built by *insert manufacturer here* is pointless because Zierer has proven that it can build solid thrill coasters in the past (Wicked @ Lagoon). Would the park do well with a woodie like Evel Knievel or Wooden Warrior? Hell yes, but Verbolten is gonna fill the position that those two coasters filled as a family coaster that caters to everyone. Would the park do well with another Griffon? Maybe, but the park is already building a thrill ride this year (a desperately needed flat ride) on top of Vanish Point at Water Country. Mach Tower employee preview is today! I've been waiting months for this.
