  1. Happy Halloween everybody! On Saturday, I had to leave early to head up to DC for a wedding. My mom told me something came in the mail for me so I rushed down and grabbed what appeared to be my BOC underneath a pile of other mail. And then I discovered that I grabbed two envelopes. Both were addressed to me. Let's see what's inside. Billy Banana helps pick out both envelopes. Can't wait to see what's in there. Here's what's inside the TPR envelope. Really cool stuff. Can't forget the tasty mints and cool TPR pen. I plan on making tons of drawings with that pen. The contents of the other envelope! Looks like Billy Banana is even more excited than I am. Billy Banana tries the Six Flags button. Looks good with my Illuminights button doesn't it? Billy Banana tries riding the Big Dipper. UK maps in the background. Legoland CA, Adventureland UK, and Happy Valley. US brochures/maps. Looks like Santa (North Pole) came early. Billy Banana is very photogenic. I had no idea Adventuredome did haunts (apparently it hasn't been getting good reviews though). Billy hides in a conveniently placed pile of clothes. The maps on the bottom are the doubles I got. I plan on sending those to my brochure-collecting friends in the future. Thanks TPR for all the cool stuff! You guys rock. Yeah I'm crazy, but aren't we all? Looking forward to doing trades next year.
  2. Park maps really aren't the most accurate way to measure how much extra land the park has. I'd recommend using a satellite image instead. On another note, all SF parks can be classified as "major" parks. The three you're referring to are the "flagship" parks (the highest performing parks in the chain).
  3. Thank you for an amazing season. Meeting so many awesome people Getting an inside look at the park Being one of the first people to ride (and even operate) Mach Tower Making people smile Meeting fellow enthusiasts (including one that posts here too ) Getting my first look at Howl O Scream Getting sneak peeks of Verbolten This season was totally worth standing in the elements and dealing with the occasional problem. Thanks Busch Gardens for an awesome year and I hope to come back next year.
  4. My awesome BOC arrived yesterday. Since I'm out of town, I don't have any pix, but I'd love to take the time to say thank you to TPR for sending out some awesome crap.
  5. Is a popular football stadium located near the ride?
  6. Is the ride taller than 100 feet?
  7. Is the mystery "thing" located inside a theme park with more than 5 coasters?
  8. Is it located in a park with 5 or more coasters?
  9. Does the coaster have a launch?
  10. Was the coaster built by a company that starts with the letter A?
  11. 1. Aren't you a local? You should know when to visit the park for minimum crowds; therefore, you probably won't need a Fastpass and the Fastpasses shouldn't hold up the lines that bad if there is one (maybe you should bring your own food/eat outside the park to save a bit of money too). 2. If done right, Fastpasses don't really have an adverse effect on wait times (especially with high capacity rides). This is coming from observations made visiting my home park (BGW) during peak times like July 4th and HOS as well as dead periods. Lines will still be 45-60 minutes for popular attractions on busy days regardless of Fastpasses used. Plus the number of Fastpasses given out will still be limited and reserved for the most popular/biggest rides and attractions anyway. If the lines turn out longer, they probably won't be that much longer.
  12. How come you don't? Personally I find front of the line passes to be an awesome idea, especially for parks that are known for huge crowds like CP. Most parks will limit the number of Fastpasses given out per day and limit them only to the most popular rides anyway so you can guarantee CP will do the same. I kinda don't really like the way BGW handles their fastpass system (sucks standing in line for that row, only to find out that it's Quick Queue reserved and it has to go empty for another cycle).
  13. Looks like I won't be able to play tonight (tons of work to do) so good luck to everyone that is playing.
  14. With all this hype going into drop track, I'm surprised more parks haven't capitalized on the thrill lift/tilt coaster concept. It looks like a totally unique, terrifying, one of a kind experience. Maybe a Chinese/stateside park can pick one of these up. A lot of those other Vekoma concepts look pretty cool too (like the 10 inversion roller coaster).
  15. Looks like the bridge is gonna be better themed than I thought it was gonna be. Can't wait to see more!
  16. This is a good start to pre-Halloween week!
  17. Does the park have an Arrow Corkscrew?
  18. Does the park have a record breaking coaster?
  19. Is said park located near the ocean?
  20. Has the park won any Golden Tickets?
