Shane's Amusement Attic
netdvn replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Um... You do realize that souvenir booklet clearly has a section for SFGAm when SF owned it. Right? Theme Park Brochures has a few SFGAm brochures/maps you can check out too. They even have one from the year Z-Force opened. The mods usually direct everyone to the park index. There's a few postcards and stuff in there to check out. -
*Sorry about the double post* Coaster Crew leaked another picture of the inner-workings of V-bolt. Since today's the hard hat tour (and it's unusually warm for late-Feb, early March), bring back some awesome pictures. It looks like the park's already gotten down to adding theme elements to the ride. This is gonna be awesome. EDIT: The park posted a nice update on the coaster. The drop track has been officially revealed by the park and you get some real nice pictures of the construction. This video is really getting me pumped for the opening. A huge update is taking place on the park's website. This thing is really looking impressive. More inner-workings of the coaster The queue is also starting to take shape. Overlooking the Rhine

I thought there would be 5 trains running at once. Are two of the trains the same colour? Four trains have been spotted so far. The fifth train either hasn't made it on site or is hiding somewhere on the track/inside the park already. Chances are the fifth train will probably be colored yellow. Black is a possibility too.

Construction on the bridge has finally started.. It looks like the roof can be seen in the background (it's much clearer if you blow the picture up). This weekend can't come soon enough. * Taken from BGWFans * EDIT: Threw a pic of the bridge into the post. EDIT: I found better quality pics at Coaster Crew and decided to post higher quality versions. EDIT: Surprise Higher quality pics taken from Coaster Crew.

QueerRudie DOES WCB

Wait so someone convinced you to ride Tower of Terror AND Splash Mountain? What has this world come to? On another note, I thought Space Mtn in FL was Alpha and Omega. I had no idea DL had a name for their track. -

Tuntable party in here! It's a pretty sweet site. Definitely a great (and addicting) way to get introduced to new music. Here's a link to the homepage http://turntable.fm. All you need is a Facebook/Twitter.

The newer SF maps are actually really nicely done and well-detailed compared to the older ones which were hit-miss on their designs. I'm not a fan of the CF maps. They look too cartoony for my tastes. The best map design is probably Disney, hands down followed by the various European park map designs. Some of the old Paramount park maps looked great too.

On the wimpiness argument, it really depends on the person. I've seen people chicken out of riding a chair swing and I've seen people rave about aggressive rides like El Toro, Maverick, and I305 like they were nothing. The general public IS pretty slow-witted though. You can't argue that. You can't really argue that the country is very lawsuit heavy either. Sucks that we can't have more extreme flat rides that run on more intense cycles.

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
netdvn replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm sure CM's are supposed to follow the directions listed on the ticket (come back at the posted return time, or wait in line like everyone else). If you can't follow directions/have a backup plan, then don't use the system. If more people followed directions, the world would be a much better place. -

How does following directions on the ticket make WDW any less desirable than other parks in the area? It's like the parents that bring their too short kids onto rides, thinking that nobody will stop them. -
This band is wicked awesome! EDIT: Why are Youtube links so hard to embed on this site.

^^ Maybe because the CGA fanboys don't complain as much as they do in here? -

^ 2 Questions... How long did those slides just sit there abandoned before SF decided to upgrade them? If the old SF was still under control, would they ever think to reopen the slides or leave them rusting away? -

^ SF seems to be working toward adding more and more new additions to SFA with Thomas Town, Zoomazon Falls, and Apocalypse. It seems they're slowly building up the park. I figured SFGAdv only faced that problem after the War on Lines period when the park had too many flats and not enough people to staff them. Now that most of those flats were removed, there's not enough flats and the park is starting to bring back classic flat rides. I'm sure the park can manage a slight increase in flats (compared to the War on Lines at least). -
The Santa CLAW! Live Claw Machine - Crane Game!
netdvn replied to Skramp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Played Blue side and lost. I couldn't move in either direction and my weapon barely moved. Either Chrome is acting up with Flash 11 or something else is amiss. Played Red side and still couldn't move, but I still won through counterattacks. -
Superbowl Commercials - 2012 Edition
netdvn replied to ernierocker's topic in Random, Random, Random
I really liked the commercials this year. Most of them were pretty funny/flashy, which was cool. Some commercials that stood out.... - Both Doritos commercials. One of the commercials (the one with the dog burying the cat) actually starred a local guy. - The Honda one (Ferris Bueller) - Obviously the M&Ms one - The Bud Light commercial with the dog that grabs the Bud Light on command... The Budweiser ones were pretty good too. - The Clint Eastwood commercial. - The post-apocalyptic Chevy commercial looked nice. The other graduation Chevy commercial was hilarious though. - The Kia commercial - The Fiat commercial - The yogurt commercial - The Met Life commercial - The Tax Act commercial - The Transformers 3D commercial (obviously) Oh and I managed to see SFMM in a commercial too! Overall, it was a great game with great commercials. Hopefully next year will be as good if not better. -
