  1. That hit might go down as the biggest hit in 2013, and it's only January 1st!
  2. Just to add on to what people have said about Vortex, it's not the back row that is the best, but front row of the back car (the magic Arrow seat).
  3. Exactly. Wooden coasters especially, it is perfectly safe if you are using your brain. Even though it was against the rules at the park we caught people doing it pretty often. I get why many parks just have a blanket "don't ever do it" rule instead of "use common sense when crossing," but IMO as long as you aren't carrying a baby stroller across the track as the train is entering the station it isn't always a big deal
  4. It's going to be against the park policy to cross at most places. Ours was you could only cross through an empty row of the train and you had to signal to the panel op your intention to cross. However, at Holiday World in 2010 when I visited Raven was only running one train so the ops would cross over to get the next train loads loose articles and cross back to put them in the bins while the train was cycling the course.
  5. My first visit to the park was a Monday and Tuesday in May 2011. Every ride was a walk on and I even had solo rides on Flight Deck, Invertigo, Adventure Express, and The Beast. Fast Pass will not be necessary when you visit more than likely. Half the crowds were school groups that left between 2-3 anyway.
  6. That's strange. At Alabama Adventure we operated our Bertazzon Music Express with a 36" accompanied/52" alone requirement.
  7. Here's a screenshot from earlier this afternoon:
  8. Not being a big waterpark fan, are there many places where this is not the case? Seems the few I've been to, it was all included. I will have to say though, I'll probably actually check this place out sometime not in the height of summer. Most parks provide them for the attractions that require them (tube slides), but rent them out if you want one for a non tube attraction like a lazy river or wave pool.
  9. Such a thrilling SEC Championship Game! I don't think my nerves are going to get calm again until tomorrow. So it will be Alabama vs. Notre Dame in Miami.
  10. Courtesy of Cedar Point's Facebook page: Gatekeeper topping off
  11. Auburn Alabama will be making their 8th SEC Championship Game appearance next week, and for the first time it will not be against Florida. "Go teach the bulldogs to behave..." as the fight song says.
  12. SFOG for one. After that I'm trying to decide between a trip to the Missouri parks or Texas parks...or both
  13. And Alabama is right back in it without having to cheer for Kiffin!
  14. ^Each time the GM has tweeted out a video of the demolition I watched hoping for explosives
  15. Count me in with the group that found Mean Streak to be surprisingly smooth back in August. It's still boring, however.
  16. ^I just don't think he is interested in saving KK because it was an amusement park. I get the feeling he is only doing it because it is his baby and he is letting his ego drive him more than anything. He doesn't want his past projected to be seen as ultimately a failure.
  17. Going from Walter to Rick is such a drastic transition Awesome job as always Robb, Elissa, & crew!
  18. ^They've been there before. I don't know if IAAPA actually kicked them out either. From the Amusement Today article. I doubt they want to stay in town for those legal proceedings.
  19. It's not that hard to get a sign made. They have a basic template they are using for all their signage. I don't know if they have someone on site or a local company doing it, but a quick phone call and *BAM* you have a new sign.
  20. I'm still shocked that #4-#9 in the BCS are all SEC teams. That's quite the logjam.
  21. WhiteWater West: How do you plan to market your new acquisition Hopkins Rides to more traditional waterparks?
  22. IIRC, Dollywood said they spent $20 million on Wild Eagle and SFGAm said X-Flight was $15 million.
  23. Didn't Premier start making TOGO parts? I want to say I remember reading an article WAAAAAAY back when that they did.
  24. IIRC, the spare train for SFOT's Flashback was the train for SFKK's Vampire. Since it got a new train at SFNE they sent the old train to Texas.
