^^The Waterworld show at USH is fantastic, entertaining and thrilling. Definitely a really great show, and that is why they keep it around. Anyways, there is another post about Universal S Korea posted over on Univeral Singapore. http://sentosathemepark.blogspot.com/2010/01/universal-studios-to-open-in-korea-in.html

Creditcrazy- When I was at Universal Hollywood over the new years, the ride ops on Mummy clapped when you got back. Could just be that ride at that specific park though. As I ride operator, I am always looking for ways to make guests happy, pleased, etc, and I think clapping is a great way for guests to realize how much fun they had. It is something I am looking to implement park wide this summer!

^^But why would you need a train to check that kind of stuff? I'm not trying to say you are wrong, because I don't know the exact purpose of a pull through either, but to me, it seems like all that can be done in the absence of a train. And I would certainly hope that they have all the bolts tight for track connections before they even consider putting a wheel on the track. Intamin still seems to be good at doing pull throughs, turning the ride on, hoping for the best and still getting the ride valleyed. ^I probably sound really snooty between these two comments, but I respectfully have to disagree. The ride, at this moment, is not in the hands of the park. Intamin, in this case, won't hand the keys over to KD to run her until they believe the ride is in proper, operating condition. I do not think the park has much say in whether they want to do a pull through or not. -

^^My thoughts exactly. Like I said in my previous post, I really don't see a reason to have a reach envelope test on Intimidator (carowinds) because there really is nothing the rider could hit themselves on. However, when you guys say that Manta got a pull through test, it really didn't. It just had that pvc reach envelope on the wing dip, and was not seen anywhere else. With that in mind, I think it is safe to say the envelope test/pull through is only executed on places where I rider could hit themselves. To my knowledge, TTD, an Intamin lol, did not receive a pull through. Nor did MF. It is rides with low(er) clearances such as Maverick or iSpeed that receive it due to their very nature. However, I think there are a couple places on i305 that will give some head choppers but again, the cranes are gone. So maybe they do a reverse pull through using the small cranes and negate the first drop. Just my two cents. Maybe they "tunnel test" it, NL style. -

If it were a Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit pull through/reach envelope test, it would like something like this. Wait, that is not right. THIS is what the Rockit test looked like. AND if you would like to reach test the love of my life, it would look like this... So, I don't think you necessarily have to have a train to do a pull through to do a pull through. I also think think that pull throughs are more common when the coaster interacts with other objects such as supports, track and buildings. I mean, I wouldn't really see it to be necessary to do a pull through on, say, Intimidator at Carowinds since there is absolutely nothing the rider could possibly hit. Albeit the test is used for a lot more than just the reach envelope. With that in mind though, wouldn't they have kept a crane on site to pull the train up the lift hill if it was in fact going to happen on this coaster? Photos owned by their respective owners. -
So, I am confused. PARC is simply a management company, they do not own the parks, at least to my knowledge. The owner is CNL Lifestyle. So who is making the payments to SF to pay off the parks, Parc of CNL? With that in mind, (^) I don't think Parc has the full decision in making investments as they are simply a management group. The money is coming from CNL I believe.

I mean, maybe I just rode it on a REALLY good day back in March, but I definitely did not find GhostRider to be that bad of a ride, nor did I need medicine after. I thought it had some sweet turns, some great airtime and a thrilling layout. It is also a very pretty coaster. So, I may be the only person in the world, but I don't mind this coaster in the least.

Bahahahaha!!!! That is hilarious. I literally laughed out loud. Boob credit!

The better question...Will the second hill have trims or not? That definitely hope it doesn't. I think we all just need to embrace trims as an inevitability of life... Edit: On another note, that is a very pretty picture of the coaster! -
Update: Height and Weight Limits! Battlestar Galactica will have a height limit of roughly 4 feet (125 cm) ROTM will have a height limit of exactly 4 feet (122 cm) Jurassic Park will have a height limit of 3'7" (110 cm) Full list of attraction weight and height limits Also, all the hotels on the Sentosa property are now open to the public. If you are in to staring at closed coasters and construction, this is the place to be! The park seems to be in full testing mode as we speak (or type?), as the Jurassic Park ride is now roaring and both lines of BG are running at full, though I have not seen a recent video of them testing together. Maybe it is just me, but from this recent video of BG, the launch speed seems to have picked up, as it appears the train takes the course with a little more heat. Would you agree?

Yes I have never ridden a B&M hyper with this new train style, but from the feel of seeing the one at IAAPA and all the pictures of DB, Behemoth and now this, I think it is safe to say I like the old train style better. I understand it is meant to give a more open and free feel, but I don't like the fact you are so isolated from your group on either of the two outside seats. I'm not a fan of it on the GIBs either. Maybe it is just me. Trains still look nice and this coaster should be fun, but I like the old style more. -

GCI Intern Website

Thanks for posting that! It definitely seems like something I would be interested in. Is the internship only for engineers though? I am a business major, more specifically finance, and am looking to get more involved in the industry. I was an ambassador at IAAPA this last year, and that was awesome, and I got to speak with Clair and Chris! They told me to email a gentleman by the name of Pete about the possibility of a accounting/finance internship and I am still waiting for a response. Maybe you know more? -

I for one am personally psyched for this ride and am in the process of planning my trip out there, hopefully for opening weekend. This ride is going to be bomb, and the drop is going to be awesome. -

I have a couple of Wild Thing at Valleyfair! I have more, but I didn't think they were as good. There are more than just queue house pictures, hope that is ok. From the entrance of the park. Lift and hills. Taken from the train. From over in the Challenge Park. Lift hill from queue. The station building. -

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
themeparkman25 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought RRR was FANTASTIC! I ranked it #24 out of the 341 steel coasters I ranked on the poll. It was slightly above Manta on my list which I ranked at #26. --Robb "I'm surprised it was so low!" Alvey By no means am I saying it is a bad ride, I thought it was quite fun. It was very unique, had some sweet elements, very photogenic/crowd interactive and a great addition to the park. Just in general, there are numerous other coasters I would ride "before" it. Like Skycoastin Steve, of all the new 09 coasters, it was my least favorite. Manta is the best ever, by the way. -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
themeparkman25 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the shocker of this year is HRRR sitting at number 59. By no means is it a bad ride, but it just seems a little high to me. It was a middle-of-the-pack kind of coaster, IMO. EDIT: I am thrilled!! to see Manta in the top 25!! Double Edit: Congrats to Goudurix! -

^I feel so stupid asking this, but I am drawing a complete blank on the name of that B&M hyper. I think it has to do with the fact I can't think of a coaster that has that element, outside of maybe Nitro. Is it Nitro? Im not going to recognize you without the frog either.
