  1. This is all great news! The TMLR news seemed to come out of left field, but honestly I'm more excited for that than the new Boardwalk additions. On another subject, I'm wondering if there might still be a maze inside TMLR for Haunt. I know 2012 was supposed to be the final year for it (and earlier in the year it was stated that there wouldn't be a maze for 2012), but maybe with the refurbishment more safety features can be installed to allow scaracters to continue scaring guests. I'm just picturing how great a maze might look inside of there with the improved effects and everything, although I'm pretty sure it's unlikely. But then again, most probably would have thought a major refurbishment for TMLR to be unlikely as well!
  2. I'm going to go with SFKK. Seems like the state is ready to do something with the land, whether it's getting someone to reopen the park or razing it for a casino. Meanwhile, it doesn't seem like anything's going on with the Hard Rock site in terms of either reopening the park or selling/repurposing the land. Or at least I haven't heard anything lately.
  3. Seconded. I would love to see the ability to customize what's in the game- as I mentioned in a previous post, it would be nice to be able to custom theme stations, buildings, etc rather than being stuck with only a handful of options like in the RCT series, but I don't think we need the ability to create actual unique rides. I don't need this in the initial launch of the game to make it worth purchasing and playing. If an expansion were to be created at some point, then it might be a cool idea. On another note, love the update video! It answered some of my questions and most importantly made the game even more appealing to me (if that were possible)! Loving how this game is looking right now.
  4. I'm also going to say the this is for the Gringotts coaster. My reasoning is below... SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT READ THE BOOKS OR SEEN ALL THE FILMS- SCROLL DOWN NOW! Excuse me for being a fanboy/nerd, but Bellatrix (Helena Bonham Carter's character) died at the end of HP7: Part 2. So probably the only way she could be reprising her role on screen would be if it took place within the existing series (as opposed to a "ninth" film like the article proposes). Just something I thought I'd throw that in there to give some reasoning as to why I believe this would be for the coaster. END SPOILER ALERT Also, assuming that the article is correct in stating that this "film" will also be shown at USJ and USH, then I guess this would confirm that the Gringotts coaster will be coming to their versions of WWOHP as well, if in fact this is what the film is going to be used for. Whatever this is being used for, I am excited to hear that some of the cast has reunited to shoot some new footage! I'll be looking forward to seeing it.
  5. As others have mentioned, I too love RCT2 because of the fact that it's a full game with plenty of scenarios, coasters, and rides. The realism that the game has in terms of how the objects look and function is what I love about it, and so that's something that I would love to see for this game. From the trailer, I can see that there will be an ability to change the angles and "freeform" the track. This is something that I really appreciate. One thing that has always bothered me about RCT is the fact that you don't have the option to shape the track as you'd like in order to fit the coaster into a small footprint as well as for added realism. As a self-proclaimed coaster nerd, I love recreating real coasters. One design in particular that I've had trouble with is Knott's Berry Farm's Xcelerator for example due to the banked turns it has. I've never been able to get a design that I actually like. So the game already looks like a winner to me, but if there's one thing that's key for me it's the loading times. While I understand that loading/lag in the game will vary depending on your system components, I'm less likely to stick with a game if it's making me wait a long time for things to process. Making the game graphics so that they're impressive but without slowing down the computer too much is a deal breaker for me. In other words, if it's necessary I'm okay with slightly degraded graphics if it means the game will load faster. Maybe there could be an option to change the quality depending on your computer? I don't really know anything about game design or programming so what I'm asking might not even make a whole lot of sense. Another feature I'd like from day one is the ability to add custom scenery, similar to how RCT3 allows you to do custom billboards. But I'd like to see this taken a step further where we can do custom queues, buildings (walls, fences), foliage, etc. More specifically, I'd like to see the ability to shape it into anything, color it as we please (paint half of it one color and the other half another, for example), and make it whatever size we want. If a user-friendly interface can be included within the game that allows scenery to be designed, I will be overjoyed! Sometimes I try to replicate things I see in the Disney parks, so being able to do things like recreate the exterior of The Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain would be great! As for other comments I want to pass on to the designers- this legitimately looks like a GREAT game, and I will most likely preorder it just based on what I've already seen. But I'm also looking forward to what other features might be included. I see a lot of potential here. Thank you for your time!
  6. My username is 1137me_69...yes, I know it's a terrible username. I didn't really think I would ever really use my Origin/EA account so I came up with a ridiculous name. But anyway, anyone is free to add me if they'd like! I have 3 houses with lights up right now, working on getting more of them done. So please bear with me in the meantime and I'll try to get everything lit up! Sending requests to SharkTums and KidTums if that's okay. Robb already added me about a week ago (thank you, by the way)!
  7. I might actually be up for this! I usually go to WCB with my family, but if they can't make it I'll let you know!
  8. It's from Super Mario Bros.: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/but-our-princess-is-in-another-castle I was joking that it's not Princess Peach in the photo because she's located elsewhere. In the game, Mario gets to the castle at the end of each level only to find out that the Princess is in another castle. It's become a popular meme.
  9. These are a couple of gems I captured from the USO Transformers announcement, but I forgot to post them until now: Um...what? I can't recall a single time when Universal "moved" an attraction to Disney, or vice-versa. I facepalmed at this one, although to be fair USO does still maintain the rights to the current Marvel attractions, not to mention that a DC Island/Gotham City was proposed when IOA was in development. But still...
  10. I'm also hoping that WCB is happening in 2013! WCB is the only TPR event I've been able to attend (I've been going since 2010), and each year has been awesome! Maybe we'll hear something soon? I'll be waiting patiently...
  11. YES! Sure, it may have been "gimmicky," but I miss it. SFNE went higher up on my "Parks I need to visit" list when I heard they were getting it. Of course, Bizarro was already a major reason why I wanted to go to SFNE, but having Deja Vu (I'm not comfortable calling it Goliath since I'm used to SFMM's Goliath!) there is icing on the cake. Hoping I can make it over there someday! I'm also hoping that the space Deja Vu occupied will be the site of a decent coaster in the future, but for now Full Throttle will have to do!
  12. Sorry, but your princess is in another castle!
  13. Wow...that one made my brain hurt. Was that a comment on a YouTube video?
  14. I checked that I buy mostly Blu-Rays, but I'd be interested in DVDs or downloads as well. The reason why I prefer Blu-Ray is just because of the picture quality. However, I would buy a DVD instead if it was significantly cheaper. Digital downloads would be my third choice, but I would like a copy that I can keep on my hard drive as opposed to streaming it online. So to sum up, I prefer Blu-Ray but I would consider DVDs or downloads if the price is right! For the record, I believe TPR's RAW volumes are already priced reasonably...I'm just waiting for some extra cash so that I can actually purchase the ones I don't have!
  15. And on a Disney coaster for that matter!
  16. I love these shots! I especially liked the China photos posted in Hanno's Picture of the Day thread. This is one reason why I enjoy reading TPR- all of you know how to get some amazing photos! It's taught me a few things about how to get great photos as well! So to answer your question, yes, these may very well be the best shots ever!
  17. This pic reminds me of the Superman Krypton coaster at SFFT!
  18. Oh perfect! Thank you! I really appreciate you doing that!
  19. You can buy limited edition Trick or Treat bags with some goodies in them to trick or treat in the queue line. I think that is what they meant. Ah, that makes more sense now. Thanks!
  20. For those of you going to HHN soon, would you mind giving me a run down of the merch offerings? I have a friend getting me the pins from USF's HHN and I want to see if USH is offering different pins. This year the Orlando pins just say "Halloween Horror Nights 2012" as opposed to HHN 22 like they've done in previous years (HHN 21, HHN XX, etc). So I was wondering if they're offering more generic merch for both resorts this year. This way I'll know what's there before I go! Thanks! Pictures and/or prices would be nice! Specifically I'm looking for the pin(s) and t-shirts.
  21. Couple of questions about Haunt: 1. I'm planning on going on a Sunday (October 14th to be exact)...how do you think crowds will be? On average, how long would you say wait times for the mazes will be? 2. Is Trick or Treat an upcharge maze? I know that Trapped requires reservations, but the Knott's site doesn't mention if there's a charge for Trick or Treat. I thought I had read somewhere that there was going to be a small fee for it. Thanks a lot! Any other tips would be much appreciated- this will be my first time at Haunt!
  22. Since you have a pass to SFDK, you do get into SFMM as well, and Fright Fest is included with admission (the only additional charge is for the mazes). The entire park will remain open until midnight, so both the mazes and the rides will be open until this time, and it's for all guests. Can't say for certain how crowds will be (I only visit a few times a year), but from my experience, Saturdays in October tend to be pretty busy. I'd recommend making a counter-clockwise loop around the park (start at either Lex Luthor or Goliath, then go to Colossus, Scream, Batman, Green Lantern, etc), and save X2 as one of your last rides- I always get in line for it right before park closing. Others on here might be able to give you a better strategy, but this is the one that usually works for me. I haven't been to CGA's Haunt, but I've heard that Six Flags' mazes don't come close to the detail in the mazes elsewhere, so I wouldn't expect them to be too amazing. I did do Aftermath at last year's Fright Fest and it was pretty good though. The only other Halloween event I've attended is Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, and those mazes were far superior to SFMM because their sets were film quality. So I'd say if you want to try the mazes at SFMM just to see what's there (since it's your first time), go ahead, but don't go in with high expectations. Hope this helps! And have fun!
  23. Got my Bag of Crap not too long ago! It arrived fast! Here's what was inside: This looks awesome! Let's get a closer look at everything... The famous TPR pen (and pencil)! Maps of Tokyo DisneySea and King's Island! I'm now another step closer to having maps from all the Disney and Cedar Fair parks! Awesome! A preview copy of "Mouse Trap"! I loved this book, so I'm looking forward to reading it again! Maps from international parks! I'm assuming these are from Japan. More international maps! Despite the fact that I can't quite understand what they say, they're interesting to look at and compare to the maps we use in the U.S.! And finally, a TPR DVD! These are always fun to watch. Thanks a lot for sending it to me!
