Shane's Amusement Attic

YES! I'd love to see this ride back in action, especially since I didn't get to ride it at Astroworld! -

Me neither...the sad part is that my grandparents live in Houston and I visit them every summer...and we didn't make it to Astroworld once But does anyone know what happened to each coaster? I know Greezed Lightning is in storage and a couple of them were scrapped, but what about the others? Specifically I want to know about Batman: The Escape and Viper if anyone knows anything. -
I was at SFMM last weekend, and although I didn't take a picture, I did notice that the "GOTHAM CITY" sign has been removed from the entrance to the Gotham City Backlot. Obviously I don't know why the sign was missing, but this would seem to only confirm a new theme to me...of course I'm only speculating here... But I would love to see a DC Comics area made here using Batman, Riddler, and Green Lantern! Too bad Superman's up on top of Samurai Summit, because it would only make sense to have Superman in a DC Comics themed area (if in fact that were to happen).

I think this is a great idea! As it is, whenever I've seen Krypto the Super-Dog on Cartoon Network, for some reason I always think of Six Flags. So this might not be a bad way for them to go. At least it'd be somewhat unique compared to the other Six Flags parks. The only thing that might be of concern is whether or not kids would recognize Krypto, since this coaster's target audience is kids. But hopefully someone from the park will see this and suggest it! That is, if they aren't already finalizing things as we speak/type.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

X2: Area 19 at SFMM's Fright Fest. Just like a few others, probably my last coaster ride of 2010. -
Unfortunately only Fright Fest at SFMM. Didn't go through the mazes, but I did go through one of the scare zones and on two of the special attractions (Colossus Backwards and X2: Area 19). The scare zone I went through was the one in Gotham City, and I didn't get scared once! I literally only counted 5 or 6 scareactors in the whole area. Colossus Backwards was nice, but definitely rough! But X2: Area 19 was decent, definitely better than what I was expecting. Mainly it's just a new soundtrack, but the queue area is themed to look like it's been invaded by aliens and the ride ops wear grey lab coats, which I thought was a nice touch (especially for Six Flags). So I had fun, but as far as scares go, this fell flat for me...but then again, I missed two of the other scare zones and didn't go through the mazes in favor of going on some of the rides in the dark (Riddler, Batman, X2, Scream, etc).

Xcelerator at Knott's, about 2 weeks ago...got a night-time ride, which is rare for me since I usually visit in the off-season! It was a great way to wrap up what was an awesome day! -
So I have one free day this weekend (Saturday) to do either SFMM or Knott's...which one do you think will be less crowded? I'll be heading over to one of the parks around 11am, after I tour the Disney Studios in Burbank. Thanks for any input, and for those of you who read the SFMM thread, yes I posted in there too, so I apologize for the double post- I just figured I could get more replies by posting in both. But to contribute to the thread, I do think the glasses policy is weird...but then again, it is true that California has the strictest safety restrictions...I wear contact lenses, but it's good to know that I'll be riding Xcelerator with blurred vision if I ever come to the park with glasses on haha

Sorry to get slightly off-topic, but I was wondering if SFMM or Knott's would be more crowded this upcoming weekend? I only have one free day to go to the parks, but I can't decide between the two. Your thoughts? I'd appreciate any feedback you could give me! I'm touring the Disney Studios in Burbank until 11am and then I'm heading to one of the parks (if that helps). Anyway, sorry again to go off-topic, but some input would be nice! But back on topic, I think whatever happens at Superman, it'll definitely be big as they're advertising...have the folks at SFMM disappointed us over the past few years? Absolutely not! In my opinion, we are in the middle of a new heyday for this park! Everyone working on all the improvements have done a great job, and I'm sure we'll all be able to say the same for Superman when it reopens next year.

Intamin impulse question
disney4me2001 replied to Robbie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know, I've never thought about that before with Intamin...although I have wondered if there have ever been incidents like that on shuttle coasters (ex: Schwarzkopf shuttle loop or Vekoma boomerang)...but I digress. If there has been an incident on an Impulse, then at least it wouldn't be the first incident on an Intamin ( )...blame it on the cable! -
First off, loved the pics! Looks like it was awesome! Unfortunately I couldn't go due to my finals, but if Bay Area Bash returns next year then I am definitely interested!

Nice TR! Thanks for posting it! Unfortunately I can't make it to CP this year (summer school...yuck...), but I'm planning a trip for next year. Is it true that the park is deserted on weekdays during May? I understand Saturdays must be horrible (especially opening day), but the park sure looked empty on Sunday...just wondering if it's like that Monday-Friday. And seriously, the food/drink prices are ridiculous! I hope that rumor about them offering free drinks in exchange for a more expensive ticket is true...

Okay, so I've read this entire thread and the flyer, but I'm still unsure on one thing and I'd appreciate it if someone could just clarify, please...so for Great America, would I get the season pass discount with my Knott's pass? The flyer says "Cedar Fair/Great America pass" but then it also says "out of area/state season pass vouchers not accepted." I just want to confirm that my (already processed) Knott's pass qualifies as a Cedar Fair pass for the discount. Thanks! Had a blast at WCB, so I'm hoping I'll be able to do this trip as well!

The WCB 2010 Appreciation Thread
disney4me2001 replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All I have to say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! This was the first TPR event I've ever attended, and it definitely won't be the last. Also the SFMM day was on my birthday this year, so thank you for making this a great and memorable birthday! Looking forward to WCB 2011! -
No one suggested a boybott of Magic Mountain. I asked that none of the "families" of Theme Park Review support this ride, and instead bring their kids to Disneyland to ride their version of it. We have a lot of families here with kids that are 35" - 41" who would probably LOVE to ride this roller coaster. And they can. At Disneyland. --Robb "That's all that was being suggested....and hopefully Magic Mountain tells us the 42" restriction was an error." Alvey Okay, good! I was going to say- PLEASE DON'T CANCEL WCB! But I agree here- the height requirement makes no sense at all. Is there anything that anyone knows of that might make this roller-skater different from the others (such as restraints, the train itself, etc.)?

Agreed! NBC just doesn't know how to treat people. They don't know what ethics is or what it means to be ethical imho. But I do wish the best for Conan...let's hope he gets that rumored contract at FOX!
