  1. ^Viper is on the smoother side of the Arrow multi-looper spectrum, about on par with Demon at SFGAm. As far as the GP opinion of the ride, compared to ROS, the lines will tell the true story. Assuming two train operation on both rides, a 30 min. wait for ROS will mean Viper is walk-on, and an hour wait for ROS will mean 10 min. for Viper.
  2. At those prices, I really hope they are donating a portion to charity.
  3. ^Although modern advances (read: "magnetic trims") are the main reason the ride is a shadow of what it once was.
  4. I'm from New York, and it's in my top five!
  5. Congrats on the plans for a second waterpark!
  6. It's so sad to think that Kodak's basically dead.
  7. ^^ "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate."
  8. Now there's an idea for the old building. Put the Scrambler inside the Galaxy Theater, add lights, pulsating dance music and fog and you'd have a new attraction - the "Technodome". That would be ironic, since Seabreeze got rid of the same thing (Gyrosphere) a few years ago. By brain still cannot disassociate ELO's 'Fire on High' from that ride.
  9. I don't understand how this could be headlining national news. Local news, sure, but national news!? Directly form NBC's news report: "There were no immediate reports of injuries, Luong said. Knotts Berry Farm is using its own maintenance crew to handle the malfunction. Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were not called to respond to the malfunctioning ride, OCFA Capt. Marc Stone said."
  10. The wheel that was pictured isn't from WEM's Mindbender, though- as the wheels were intact at the time of the unfortunate accident. In fact, it was the axle/mount that cracked, not the wheel as is a popular urban legend. Excellent job, Eric! R.D. Indeed, that wheel is not from Mindbender. It is from the Jack Rabbit at Seabreeze! (I can't believe I actually remembered that; it has been over a month.)
  11. I would love to see another Mad House installation! I rode the one at SFGadv on the New Hotness trip and loved every minute of it.
  12. I'm going to pick the Houston Astros to win the World Series! I can dream right? Also, my guess for this round is 7 duckies.
  13. That song gets stuck in my head all the time. Troy is the name of the town 20 miles south of here.
  14. ^I know; it's getting surreal, especially since I have to move two days before I leave for the trip.
  15. I have to go with 10 duckies as well. That Knoebels report may very well be the the best PTR Big Mike has ever made. I'm so excited that I will be there in just over a week!
  16. ^ The original trains, I meant.
  17. Sad day! I don't have cable, so I went over to a neighbor's to watch. Travel Channel is 72 in our area, but standard cable only goes up to 70. Also, the Travel Channel is one of the few channels I know that will not post full episodes online. I feel like they could make a lot of money in advertising if they did. Anyway, I guess I'll have to be happy with clips.
  18. The Gravity Group already has a launched shuttle coaster designed. They are just waiting for some Chinese park to buy it. Timberliners were designed with launching in mind.
  19. Funny you'd mention that. One of the Seabreeze Waterpark managers used to make someone (or a group of people) sing before we'd open the park for the day. It was usually good for a laugh and started the day on a positive note.
  20. I'm going to guess 9 duckies; all of those higher guesses are worrying me, though.
  21. Schmeck seat for the win! Bruised thighs are just so satisfying. Also, with the way the station is set up, the lines for the front of the train are much shorter than the lines for the back.
  22. ^All of Ohio (and some of Indiana) is in the Eastern time zone.
