  1. Nope. I'm stuck here in SoCal. (Not enough $$$ for this trip. ) JJ
  2. B&M is not even close!!!
  3. Yes I have, and that's a great point!! As much as I don't care for "Mr. Six", I think he'd better start dancing up a storm, and quick!! JJ
  4. 225 first time, 262 the second. Not exactly a hard quiz. JJ
  5. Congrats on getting finally getting to 800* Mike!! I like the pic of Steve and Russ on the raft (?) ride. Were you guys almost losing it at that point?? JJ (* I'm guessing it's really about 730, if you'd stop counting the powered coasters!! )
  6. OK. What's up with Lou's hair?? It looks like she's had a "There's Something About Mary" moment!!
  7. Couldn't have said it better myself!! JJ
  8. Very nice Erik! Thanks for posting!! Does this open India to more of the Vekoma brand of rides? JJ
  9. Only if it's at a crappy park who has to replace a cable on a popular, glorified mine train only a few weeks into the season, due to lack of proper maintainence during the "off season". JJ
  10. ^You forgot: Cedar Point = Sucky
  11. I think lack of proper maintenance, and/or visual inspection didn't find a potentially weak cable. It snapped. Shit happens. Get over it!! It's a damn cable, and NO amount of speculation will change any of it. Get over it!! JJ
  12. $0.00 If it ain't broke, don't fix it and wait till it breaks down. Open a new ride, forget everything else! (Except newly themed trash cans.) CF = Constantly Forgetting JJ
  13. Sorry to show my age here but, "iron-on" patches are MUCH newer than normal "sew-on" patches. I believe the iron-on patches started appearing about the late 70's or early 80's. JJ
  14. 50% off coupons, along with an announcement of T:S opening on Saturday, are being delivered to business customers in the mail today. I'll post a pic later today, as I can't post the pic from my iPhone. JJ
  15. Very cool! The Spanish Death Shuttle looks - WRONG!! Chalk me up for the standing falling star as well. JJ
  16. Ya know, that's not a half bad idea Mikey!! Do that!! That would be cool!! JJ
  17. Trailblazer! Lately, I've been trying to make all of my significant numbered coasters either kiddie coasters, or something really crappy! Do it for the fun of it!! JJ
  18. Like the others have said... you'll need to rent a car. Public transportation here is VERY poor at best. Cab fare gets expensive very quickly. There are some great suggestions before mine, but I'll add a couple and include some ideas. As for your beach day, if you haven't already planned it, Santa Monica Pier would be a great choice for an all day/evening event. Universal Studios Hollywood would be great! Aside from being a theme park, it is a working studio and has quite a bit of movie history interspersed throughout the park. The Getty Museum and LA County Museum of Art are both great places to see. Another great suggestion is heading down to San Diego Zoo and/or Balboa Park. You can actually take the Amtrak train down there, and hire a cab for the drive to the park. Also, check out the local venues for the various shows or concerts. It all depends on want kind of entertainment you'd be interested in, and seeing. The more we know, the better we can help! Good Luck! JJ
  19. I really don't think that's an option. The cost of doing that would probably be more than the original investment. No. Seriously. it would RUIN the fun of the ride. Vampire wasn't a thrilling ride before the change! It was "Ok" at best. AFAIK, only in the station and the approach to the 2nd lift hill. (Erik may shed some light on this. Definitely. The trains weigh about 30% less, and don't swing out that much at all. That itself, would destroy a great ride!! Our opinion differs greatly here. BBW is a descent coaster with about 8-10 seconds of good fun. Other than that, meh. Though it is fun at night. The intense insanity of Eagle Fortress IS tearing itself apart. There's no reason to doubt that. To re-track any or all of it, would be insane! It is buried amongst hundreds of trees on a hillside. I would imagine the BIGGEST problem is with the foundational supports. That hillside is quite steep in places, and with that ride careening around over all these years, I would have no problem believing that the integrity of the supports themselves are in question. I too, hope for the best, as I know I'll be back there again someday. JJ
