Too bad you didn't hit Ninja. If you sit in the Vekoma seats, it really is sweet! I rather would have missed Cyclone. That thing is a total piece of crap. -
Oshkosh Beach Park
EuroTre replied to EuroTre's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Sorry, no pics yet, but it is kind of hard to find 80 year old pics! I did manage to find 3 more coasters and maybe even a fourth! Twist and Twirl Coaster: A virginia reel coaster. The opening date is known to be around 1930 but the closing date is unknown. The Twist and Twirl Coaster was known for it's tight turns, steep drops, and ability to spin the riders 360*. Gauntlet: A very twisted out and back coaster. The Gauntlet opened in 1927 and was the longest running coaster at Oshkosh Beach. It's extreme turns and dips made for maximum airtime and great laterals. The Gauntlet thrilled riders for 13 years before the Great Depression closed it in September 1940. Wild Mouse: A typical wooden wild mouse with hairpin turns and violent airtime. It opened in late 1926 and was an instant favorite. Also the only coaster that a rider died on. Long story short, guys freaks out, tries to leave coaster, falls and breaks his neck. Despite this, the Wild Mouse ran successfully until 1933, when it was torn down to make room for the Wildcat. UNKNOWN: The only reason this coaster is known to exist is in a picture showing the Twist and Twirl Coaster, there is a wooden coaster in the backround that does not fit any other coaster's description. It has been rumored to be the Lightning, the Airplane, Jack Rabbit, and many others have said to exist at Oshkosh Beach. Because of the numerous different stories that can't agree on a name, we'll just call it the Roller Coaster. Compact design with large hills and tight turns. I'll keep on looking for some good pics. -

You'd think that they would want to put a protective shield on the track above the splash! I wouldn't want to be on a train going by as another one goes into the splashdown. -

RCT2. I hate lag-tastic RCT3! -
Recently, a local historian found some old pictures of a long forgotten amusement park in his deceased mother's basement. After doing some research, he found out more and more about this park, known as Oshkosh Beach. The park was very properous; however, the Great Depression wrecked the park and finally closed it for good in August 1942. He's willing to show some pics after they are spruced up a little. There are 5 known coasters at this point. They are: Bobs - This was Oshkosh Beach's most famous ride with a shocking amount of ejector airtime and extreme laterals. It even rivaled the infamous Riverview Bobs. An out and back coaster. the Bobs opened in 1939 and closed with the park. It was, unfortunetaly, incinerated. Wildcat - The Wildcat was a very extreme ride. With hairpin turns and steep drops, it was known for it's great airtime and neck injuries. It opened in 1934 and also closed with the park. It was incinerated too. Loop The Loop - One of the first steel loopers. Very short lived and not a fan favorite, it opened in 1931 and lasted 1 year. It was scrapped. Little Dipper - A small kiddie woodie with a small dose of airtime and a tight ending helix. It opened with the park in 1926 and ran until 1935 when it collapsed after a storm. Comet - Oshkosh Beach was known for it's insane coaster designs. However, some coasters themselves weren't very good, as was the case of the Comet. It was an extremely tight out and back with over 18 drops even though it was only 41 feet high. Only a few drops had airtime and the extreme turns were horrible. It opened with the park and closed in mid-1929 because of numerous complaints of back problems. Pictures will be posted soon...

Thanks! Man, it feels good to get some positive feedback. -
Dude, I stumbled out with a C! Yay! It was a light unnerving to find out that most of the kids in my programming class have failed it 3 times...

Hey there, this Golfie. Even though I took my case with Trevor to the high court and lost, I still got to go to Six Flags Milwaukee. Too bad Benzo didn't get to go, he got in trouble with the police again. Something about them finding one of his "labs". Anyway, here is my pic report! The end of the day. Six Flags Milwaukee is a slam dunk. You HAVE to come out here at least once! Aww, the end of my last ride of the day. =( =( =( The last air hill. =( Once again, the fast and insane figure-8 turnaround. Random people having a non-stapled lap bar slam their mid section. INTAMIN SCRAAAAPE! Right now I'm being massively ejected into deep space. 86 freeking degrees baby! Such a great ride, I HAD to do it again before the crowds invaded. Dude! WTF! Flashback rocked! Must be those new MK trains... I put it off as long as I could... Man, those crowds are pretty relentless! Yeah, getting off the train. OMG those lines look bad. Getting on the train again. Had to ride Avalanche again. Good ride. Rush and Breakdance. Rush runs a REALLY insane program. It actually made me sick. Breakdance was fun. 'nuff said. Into the brakes. 8.5/10 The theming for Enigma is an oil refinery. I don't know why, but it rocked. Goddamn trim brakes! The dive under the lift actually made me flinch. Gotta love headchoppers! Enigma's station. But OMG I LOVED Enigma's entrance. Fire makes everything cooler. Moving on to Midtown. I liked the cool entrance. I wanted to hit Road Runner Express, but the line was pretty awful. Pulling into the station. Uh oh it's starting to look busy... Chuggin' by Storm Force and the Eye In The Sky. Enigma flying into the enclosed corkscrew. We even got to race Enigma. Too bad we lost. =( Oh yeah, we also got to chug by Enigma. Chuggin' past Rush and Breakdance. Next I took the train to the front of the park. With a 5 minute wait, I had to ride it again. This is were the path took me next... Both the station and the ride were pretty cool. 7/10 Ahh, so this is what that Schwarzkopf looper was, a Katapult. SKOOOOSH! OMG! These people aren't very smart... Next I tackled Whitewater Rampage, a really non Dan approved ride. Into the brakes. 7.5/10 Once again the ending seemed a little weak, but it was still fun. Believe it or not, there is actually some airtime on this cool family coaster. The first drop is pretty cool, especially in the back seat. Next up, Avalanche, a Vekoma family coaster. Oops. I realized that I missed Midtown. Oh well, I guess I can do that later... Into the brakes. 9/10 A train entering the enclosed triple roll. Fun stuff! It's actually really smooth! Much better than Colossus... Weeee! This is Batman The Escape, a custom Intamin looper with 8-inversions. I can't believe nobody ever figured this out. After El Munstro I wandered over to the Wave Swinger. Nothing special but fun. Into the brakes. 10/10 Compared to the massive air hills the ending twists seemed a little tame. Still forceful! Yet more airtime. More super airtime. The figure-8 turnaround was fast. forceful, and actually had some airtime! Some more GREAT airtime. The fast and forceful turnaround. Uber-massive airtime! ZOMYGOD! Holy crap this is pretty high... Going up the lift, I actually feel a little nervous... The cool station. I SPRINTED to El Munstro right when the park opened and got on the second train EVER! Here we are at the entrance. For some reason it wasn't too crowded at first, but wait until later... -

O.k, I know it's been a long time since an update, but Six Flags has been very hush hush since Golfie's last update. The park is nearly finished and opening day is set for late June. Keep an eye out for the final update. Golfie has been nice enough to go on opening day and get some pics! -

Oww, it hurts to type. Last night at my opening night baseball game, on a 3 and 2 count, I fouled the ball right off my thumb. A *slight* fracture. Yes, not very impressive, but holy crap this thing ACHES! I have to hold it above my head or it pounds like crazy and take a bunch of pills and it hurts more than anything I've ever had. But at least we won
