  1. I would love for them to get a floorless from B&M, or even a B&M flying coaster.
  2. Well I heard on NPR that they are reopening the monorails now.
  3. Well, I'm going to Cedar Point today as we speak!
  4. Here we go: Cornball Express (Indiana Beach) Shivering Timbers (Michigan's Adventure) El Toro (Six Flags Great America-SFGAm) Viper (SFGAm) Montu (Busch Gardens Africa) Kumba (Busch Gardens Africa) The Incredible Hulk (Islands Of Adventure) Thunderhawk (Michigan's Adventure) Raptor (Cedar Point) Blue Streak (Cedar Point)
  5. ^ Here Here! Here in Michigan, we got a little park called Dutch Village in Holland, Michigan. The place has a carousel and a swing ride. I think Little Dipper would definitely fit for that place.
  6. To quote Florida Evans in Good Times: "Damn, DAMN, DAAAAAMMMNNN!!!"
  7. 100% Straight!
  8. Actually, you're thinking of J2 at Clementon. That was the one that was renamed Hellcat. Avalanche at Timber Falls is still Avalanche! Both, however, were made by S&S during their brief wooden coaster phase. But I've also seen the footage on Timber Falls website.
  9. Great vintage photos, man. My father has some at his house of the family going to Cedar Point in 1975, before I was born. They also include the old slide that used to be there. I used to love that one.
  10. On the same spot where Race World in Pigeon Forge, TN once stood, a new theme park/shopping complex is being built and will open this year! It is called Belle Island Village. It will feature a spinning coaster called Twister Mountain. It's part of the Carnival Cove section of the complex where the amusement rides will be. The website is here: www.belleisland.com/ Share your thoughts! P.S. The former Race World was home to the wooden coaster Thunder Eagle.
  11. Shivering Timbers (Michigan's Adventure) Cornball Express (Indiana Beach) Viper (Six Flags Great America) Raging Bull (Six Flags Great America)
  12. BEST: Shivering Timbers with its helix from hell! Batman The Ride (SFGAm): It leaves you wanting more in a good way. Montu: See BTR WORST: Demon (SFGAm): Decent coaster, not really an exciting ending. BTMR (Magic Kingdom), but that coaster kinda drags throughout the ride anyways! Gwazi: Everything about that coaster was bad, so actually in this case the ending WAS good!
  13. Let's just hope they don't "improve" it by ADDING TRIMS!!!! P.S. Did the search on this, couldn't find it. Sorry for reposting something that was already here. -Howie-
  14. One I can think of (because it's near me for one) is Kiddieland in Melrose Park, Ill. I heard that one is also on borrowed time. I'll probably go there and get my coaster fill on Little Dipper!
  15. I do hope that at least MegaZeph is saved. That looks like an insane ride.
  16. That's right! So if you're going on the Texas Trip or planning a trip to Texas and SFOT is on the itinerary, get your rides on the Giant while you can because next year, it's gonna be closed for fixing. Here's the story courtesy of ACEOnline:
  17. In 2007 I was at Six Flags Great America. In the Cartoon Network section, I met Steve Wilcos (a few months before his show debut; he had just left Jerry Springer). I said I was a fan, and he thanked me and told me to make sure to watch his show when it aired.
  18. Especially since they are thinking about selling two of their parks already. www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49721
  19. I say save Afterburner, save the flat rides that's worth saving, and scrap the rest. That is if they (Fun Spot) close for good. Never been there, but from what I heard, Afterburner was the only reason to go there in the first place.
  20. ^Plus Valleyfair is the "Fair" in Cedar Fair! If they sold it, the name would probably change to Cedar Point Parks, Inc. or something along those lines.
  21. I know what's on tap for next year! Pennsylvania trip 2010! Not only CLP, but Hersheypark (been there before but it was back in 1995), Kennywood, Lakemont, Dorney Park, and maybe Waldameer! That's great about CLP, though.
  22. I know where I'm going this year! Kings Island (and Diamondback) HERE I COME!!!
  23. Has anybody rode this thing? It looks and functions like the Scrambler from Eli Bridge, but it's made by (I believe) Wisdom. Plus it's multi-colored unlike the Scrambler. But what make this even more different is its speed. I rode one at the Ionia Free Fair in Michigan back in 2007 and it went not twice, but 3 times faster than a normal scrambler. It actually was really intense. Has anyone else ever rode the Sizzler?
