  1. I feel the same. When the Jourden family owned Michigan's Adventure, they were building it up. Before Cedar Fair bought the park, they even talked about adding a hyper coaster, but that never happened. Don't get me wrong, Cedar Fair did add rides here and there like Grand Rapids, Thunderhawk (Thank you, Geauga Lake), and the recent Lakeside Gliders, but they still don't give it the proper attention like their other parks. Heck, MiAd is the only park in the Cedar Fair chain (that isn't Gilroy Gardens) NOT to have either Camp Snoopy or Planet Snoopy! That being said, I still go to visit there because it convenient and gives me my coaster fill without going on a super long trip.
  2. Intamin: Maverick, California Screamin', Wicked Twister B&M: Kumba, Montu, Raptor, The Incredible Hulk, Raging Bull
  3. Mainly through my iMac and rarely, my iPad. I often comment on videos if I especially enjoyed a video or want to add to an already-started coversation. I am a YouTube-aholic!
  4. GWAZI!!!! What's sad is that it could've been great with proper care. But it is too rough, even by wooden coaster standards.
  5. Nostalgia Critic Meme FTW! Anyway, I see my least favorite woody Gwazi getting the ax!
  6. Unlike Six Flags, Cedar Fair doesn't use the same name twice for existing coasters. More than likely they could reuse the Mantis name since it's no longer being used. But didn't they re-use Woodstock Express, Vortex, Demon and Flight Deck quite a few times? Just saying. Anyways, I think they might have another mythical beast name for whatever will be taking SkyRider's place. I think it might be called Ziz, since they already have Behemoth and Leviathan in the park (and that would complete the trio). Also Thunderhawk used at Michigan's Adventure and Dorney Park. While Cedar Fair doesn't reuse their names as often as Six Flags, they do reuse names here and there, like Woodstock Express.
  7. Oh hell yeah! First New Texas Giant, then Iron Rattler, then Goliath (this year), and now TWISTED COLOSSUS!!! Planned on doing Six Flags Magic Mountain when I go back to California; definitely doing this when I do go! Rocky Mountain is changing the coaster game!
  8. WOW! Blue Streak is actually one of my faves! I guess you got a rare bad ride out of it. If you haven't already, try the middle seat instead of a wheel seat in any of the cars; the ride will be less rough.
  9. I agree with you. I've been on many wooden coasters and while quite a few were rough, that's expected. That being said, Gwazi was/is painfully rough. Gwazi was the worst for me as far as roughest wooden coasters. I would not shed a tear if it was torn down today!
  10. ^My home park, Michigan's Adventure, needs something great. Here's what I think it needs: Coaster Ideas I got a few. One would be that hyper coaster that the Jourden's were talking about before Cedar Fair bought the park. Another would be a mine train coaster. Another I'd like to see is a Gerstlaurer Euro-Fighter coaster or an Intamin impulse coaster. I also agree with giving Shivering Timbers the RMC Topper Track. I'd keep it at the current layout, though. Tower Ride Here's one someone else mentioned here. An S&S tower ride would definitely help MiAd in the thrill ride department. Planet Snoopy Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's generic, but our park is the only one of the Cedar Fair parks NOT to have either Planet Snoopy or Camp Snoopy (Cedar Point has both!). They could bring some of the existing kiddie rides and re-theme them to Peanuts (for example, moving the kid coaster Big Dipper to Planet Snoopy and re-name it Woodstock Express). Challenge Park With the recent removal of the Go Kart track to make room for the Flying Scooters, we could use this as a separate area within the park and re-add the Go Karts. I'd even move the mini golf and Rip Chord over there.
  11. This should sum up my feelings for the crappy redesign:
  12. Liking this! Still planning my amusement/theme park itinerary for this year and it's possible Kings Island might be on the list!
  13. My 2 cents: Mean Streak: I'm down for an Iron Horse treatment. Don't need the inversions, just extreme turns a la Texas Giant. (UPDATE: 6/26/2018) It happened and now is Steel Vengeance) Shivering Timbers: My home coaster could really benefit from Topper Track. It's a great coaster. Gwazi: Nuke it! Just kidding (sort of). Mil Flyers couldn't even save it. It needs to be re-tracked but good! UPDATE 8/8/2015: Blue Streak (Cedar Point): Went back to Cedar Point this July and rode Blue Streak as the last coaster for the day. It was really rough and after the turn the lap bar clamped tight on my thighs so hard a ride op had to help me push down on the bar to get out. I think new PTC trains (PTC to keep the "vintage" look) and a thorough re-tracking could do wonders. UPDATE 6/26/2018: Zeus (Mt. Olympus): Finally went to Wisconsin Dells (see my Photo TR) and rode the coasters at Mt. Olympus. Of the four wooden coasters, Zeus was the worst of the bunch. Most of the ride was okay, and the straight sections were pretty smooth, but the turnaround was super rough to the point of it hurting. That turnaround section needs re-tracking BAD!
  14. Top Thrill Dragster was probably the longest I've ever waited for a ride. Space Mountain at Disneyland is a close second. However, while I didn't wait in line for it, I was at Six Flags Great America the year Batman the Ride opened, and the line went almost to the front of the park!
  15. Hard Rock Park suddenly reopens under its original name and themes. YES!!! Still I am glad Kentucky Kingdom is reopening.
  16. Wait a minute. Don't you have PNE Playland?
  17. Well I am glad this ride is finally open. Looks like I'm going to Knoebels next year!
  18. I wouldn't say hate, but mildly dissatisfied with Top Thrill at Cedar Point. Yeah it's over 400 ft tall, it's fast, but it leaves me wanting more, plus don't even get me started with the insanely long line! The same can be said for Millennium Force. Lack of airtime not withstanding, it could've been a bit longer in my opinion. I actually enjoyed Maverick, though.
  19. Wood: Shivering Timbers (Michigan's Adventure) Hoosier Hurricane (Indiana Beach) Steel: Magnum XL 200 (Cedar Point)
  20. Actually went to Disney California Adventure this year and the foundation and queue for Maliboomer is still there.
