  1. I am a Michigan native from Grand Rapids. So I am near Muskegon; hence Michigan's Adventure is my homestate park!
  2. If they got 'em abroad, why not in the states? Warner Bros. Movie World: Myrtle Beach!
  3. Off the top of my head: The ones I ridden: Shockwave (Six Flags Great America) Python (Busch Gardens Africa) The ones I wished I rode: Blue Streak (Conneaut Lake Park)UPDATE: Yay! It's reopening! (at least in 2010...) Texas Cyclone (Six Flags Astroworld) Cyclone (at least once)(Williams Grove) Led Zeppelin (Hard Rock Park)UPDATE: Also reopening! Starliner (Cypress Gardens/Miracle Strip) Ozark Wildcat (Celebration City) Aska (Only this coaster, though)(Nara Dreamland) Wildcat (Idora Park) Jack Rabbit (Clementon Park)
  4. It's a toss up between Kings Island and Cedar Point. I never been to Kings Island and it's been 10 years since I last visited Cedar Point.
  5. Exactly. Another example of this: Race World in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
  6. One I've been to (if it even qualifies as a theme park) was The Flintstones Bedrock City Park & Campground in South Dakota. It had one train ride and a Fred Flintstone car that went around the playground area. It was like a playground you'd find at any of your neighborhood parks only it had Flintstones theming and you paid admission and it had two rides. It was really dull and blowed big time!
  7. Why stop there? Seek out an Atari 2600!
  8. Who built that coaster? Looks like fun.
  9. I like Old Town, too. I just wonder if they would have the room for Starliner, though it would be a great addition.
  10. As I also live in Michigan, I might have to check this out next year!
  11. The new site is WAAAAYYY better than the old one. Great job, indeed!
  12. I was 9 and my first coaster was Jr. Gemini at Cedar Point. The very next year I rode my first looping coaster, which was Corkscrew at Deer Park Funland, which is known today as Michigan's Adventure.
  13. Me with Charlie Brown and Snoopy at Michigan's Adventure.
  14. You know what that means? Family Kingdom is the most successful park in Myrtle Beach!
  15. When Michigan's Adventure added Thunderhawk earlier this year (THawk coming from Geauga Lake, of course), I thought it was a step in the right direction for MA, as it is my homestate park. But I was wondering what you think the next coaster or thrill ride should be.
  16. I'll mail out payment ASAP! I've been planning a trip to the West Coast for next year. This makes it better. I'll be looking forward to meeting you guys.
  17. Hello all. I've already posted a few times here, but I figured I should tell a little about myself. My name is Howard Parks. I hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan. So, Michigan's Adventure is my homestate park. I do custodial work at a shopping mall, and I'm also a musician (I play drums, mostly). I am also a roller coaster freak! The parks I've been to (so far) is as follows: Michigan's Adventure (of course!) Cedar Point Six Flags Great America Hersheypark Magic Kingdom (WDW) Epcot (WDW) Disney Hollywood Studios (WDW) Universal Orlando Islands Of Adventure Busch Gardens Africa Old Town Indiana Beach Sea World Ohio (Defunct-aka Geauga Lake) Marineland (Niagara Falls, Canada) Where I would like to go next: Disneyland Disney's California Adventure Knott's Berry Farm Kings Island Cedar Point (last trip was 1999) Holiday World Beech Bend Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (MAYBE) Disney's Animal Kingdom (of all the parks at WDW, I've never been there) Cypress Gardens (only for Starliner, though)
  18. Finally, something to replace the infamous Psyclone. Never rode Psyclone, but read stories about how bad it was. But I'm glad SFMM is replacing it with a new coaster.
  19. Just signed the petition.
  20. Mark Shapiro, are you watching? Exit Hard Rock Park; enter Six Flags Myrtle Beach! Just kidding! No but that's bad. The same thing happened to Race World in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They had the wooden coaster called Thunder Eagle, which is now sitting in storage in Mexico somewhere waiting to be put back up because Race World was only opened for one year. I hope that doesn't happen to HRP.
  21. Kumba at Busch Gardens! But that's the purpose in this case. Kumba in Swahili (I think?) means "roar". But that is the coaster I rode that's pretty loud, so far. Awesome ride, though.
  22. T-Express looks like a kick-a$$ ride! As you said yourself, Robb, a prefab woody is still a woody.
  23. I just saw the pictures of that on Holiday World's website and my jaw literally dropped when I saw how high that thing was.
  24. Gwazi at Busch Gardens Africa. It's in desperate need of retracking and adding Millennium Flyers. A close second is American Eagle at Six Flags Great America, but that was more bumpy than rough and it didn't leave me in pain.
