Nintendo should make a theme park.
omnio55 replied to Three's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do think a Pokemon dark shooting ride would be awesome, And when you shot the various pokemon it will add them to your list so you could try to catch them all on the ride. Silly yes, but it would be awesome for family. It would be even better if it was on a peter pan type ride track and could look down on them from below. I know you guys all said they shouldn't have Pokemon in there park but its one of there best selling franchises and it would be bad for business if they didn't try to reach that market with a theme park. -
You would be surprised, I used to work at Coronado springs in the gift shop and we would easily hit 100% capacity in the off season if there were a couple big conventions going on. My advice is to try to get a room at a different deluxe or moderate resort to avoid having to get a room at Pop or All star if thats what you want, I have no idea if they can change it if a room opens up somewhere, but I do know that there are people who switch hotels halfway through vacation without a problem. For example, it sounds like the resort you want to stay at is only booked solid for the first part of your vacation so you could do half at Coronado and half at boardwalk. But that is a bit of a headache...The good thing about golf tours and conventions is that the hotels are full and the parks are empty most the time

Words of encouragement for a chicken...
omnio55 replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I personally have more problems with haunted houses and silly things like that. but I can understand the feeling in the gut problem, but I agree with you I am much more of a theme park guy then a roller coaster junkie, however if you want to ride for being able to say you rode it do it. I however believe I can speak for most people on here when I say the bigger more popular rides like the ones previously mentioned are some of the more smoother less painful ones. I think the most important thing is that if you believe you might regret not doing it then jump in line. -

I used to not want to go on anything, when I was little my mom had to bribe me with a root beer float to get on Alien Encounter. I was probably nine at the time and ended up loving it. My words of encouragement are simple, do it and you will never ever regret it. Because if you do it and you hated it you can simply say that you conquered your fears, and there is a pride you get from it. If you don't ride it you will do nothing but think about weather of not you should of done it when you had the chance. -
awesome TR you have inspired me to try differnt TRs, since I currently don't live near any parks. Great job again! I must say that the random pictures kind of gave it a spy type feel. I bet they thought you were a target spy. P.S. I have no clue why people are complaning about wal-mart in here, its not like this was sam waltons trip report to wal-mart although that would be really funny.

I am a package handler for Fed Ex, I take packages off the trucks so the drivers can put them on their trucks. I also do quality assurance. Its alright but i'm also in college so i hope I will get to do something else.

I don't know...but I would say its not to long to spend that much time that way you can do everything you want, not get stressed and take your time. As far as your choice goes I've never gone to ceder point, but it all depends on what rides you want to do. Although there is a big difference in the area around ceder point and California so might look to see if there is anything around the parks in those areas you want to check out too. I would just do some research and decide what you wanna do more. and I imagine that you might be able to do all of SFMM in one day but its a massive park and in my experience seems crowded randomly.

Yes I really like the music also has changed, I believe that is a different quote but from the same guy. Very interesting new note section, I have a feeling the next case study is going to be crazy. Did anyone else figure out that if you click on the photos in case three and then flash the light bulbs that you can see the creatures. its pretty cool I recommend trying it. -

What your favorite project you ever worked on was? (if its confidential I understand.) Thank you so much for doing this and for your time. -

Any tips for visiting SFDK?
omnio55 replied to roland303's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would read that report, especially if it covered the animal and kid parts better, because not a lot of people talk about those. Also I don't know if its still open or not but the shark Exhibit was always one of my favorites -

Medusa is a roller coaster must do if your going to be there anyways, there is really a lot you can do there with your family. You should also check out v2 as it is an awesome ride, I would however avoid Konga unless you want the credit, but there is normally not much of a line. Check out all the animal exhibits they are really cool, and don't be afraid to watch the shows they are actually above the usually for theme parks, I have seen most all of them I think. I don't know is SF still lets you take food into parks but getting food and watching a show is a great way to take a break. -

^^well I can't answer you about every coaster but I have heard from Disney employee's that they ride the coasters/rides every morning and every night. Also when I worked there they gave the shop I worked at a special behind the scenes tour of Expedition everest and the Imagineer said that she was part of a team that walks and inspects the track every single night, and the team members also ride it, and switch what parts they are checking so they don't get bored of course. -
Too many complaints about Disney?
omnio55 replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ok, first I will start by agreeing with most of you. In my opinion, A ride is a piece of art, and a theme park is a gallery. In a normal art gallery not everything is a priceless work of amazingness, but all the paintings work together to become the great gallery with good variety. F'n Mania does this for both CA and MGM because both parks needed some middle ground attractions. That being said I have a story, both times I have complained about a ride at WDW I was yelled at by management for not telling somebody sooner(it was pretty funny cause most the time they were still the first people I saw.) One time was at star tours when the sound cut out half way through the ride. (which everyone noticed but I was the only person to tell them cause I was the only one who cared enough.) the other time was at Expedition Everest( and no, it wasn't about the bird...) But the yeti projection screen wasn't working, which is a major part of the ride. This time I was the only one on the train who noticed as I was the only one who had ridden it before. It was a major deal, and the moral that I took away from this was that, If i hadn't of complained hundreds of people could of not have had the best time possible. Edit: I mean Disney studios, not Mgm, I haven't been since the name change sorry. -
Halloween Horror Nights: Reflections of Fear
omnio55 replied to dj snow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ah ha, that makes sense and I'm glad its something new and different. Any idea when said commercial is to be released? and good job finding the end audio of the first case, i love it and I don't think everyone listened that far, I know i didn't the first time but i did the second. Case 2 has been released Only the first details about the guy so far, also a letter at the bottom of the screen. My prediction at this moment in time is probably Interstellar terror, which a slight maybe on doomsday. -

Your right... at first I thought it was something from last year and then I heard that horrible A word...Again. I hope they at least change up the haunted houses so they are different... also I wonder if they are going to even bother with an icon type thing. I know they are worried about knotts, but if they keep copy pasting and not doing the wonderful things they are doing an Florida, people are going to go to knotts. Which i think I read in the other forum has 6 new to this year haunted houses plus some old ones. -

Noticed today that they have added a case file to the website, Case 1. My guess is that it is either related to scary tales or the hallow. Since it talks about kids books, but then goes into the headless horseman in detail. Includes some pretty sweet concept art! I love the entrance design it looks sweet. Edit: Also added audio, if you click on a link and it doesnt do anything turn your sound on, after its done some more typing will occur. The psychiatrist icon sounds like it will be a female judging off the audio. I too am already excited for this year, im glad they took a steep back from the last two years and trying a new concept with a new icon. Yes I loved jack and the director and all the others....but I want new charcters to like. -
Final Destination 3 And Roller Coaster
omnio55 replied to hopenui's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The film doesn't imply that they do does it? Isn't it a hydraulic line that fails? yeah it is, but yeah I mean movies have always scared people. That is why horror movies are made, to exploit the emotion of fear. Some are way scarier to some people then others, for example someone mentioned the beach and jaws, which is classic. Also, I don't think theres a single person on here that has seen the shower scene from psycho and not at least thought about the potential of it happening. My advice though, go on a small looping roller coaster with some friends. I promise the feeling will be worth. The reason why i like parks and rides is BECAUSE they allow me to challenge fear. I love walk through haunted houses, they scare me to death and I don't always make it to the end but I love them. Give it a shot and most deaths on roller coasters happen when people are not where they are supposed to be(i.e. the kid at six flags that yes died but it wasn't cause he rode, or an employee on the track while ride is going.) Not to mention that by the third movie they were running out of ideas.... -

Great podcast, I was surprised at how professional it looked. Yes I think rose makes a great host especially considering that was her first go at it. I do hope you continue with these and can't wait for the water park one -
I am glad other people caught the Mr Smee thing so i don't have to be the bad guy, but I used to have a Mr Smee roommate. And riding everything is always the Disney way. Although I tend to ride everything at universal parks too. Great reports! and way to stay up on it while having fun in Europe, I would have just stoped after the first day.
