The Pens have certainly managed to turn this series around. These next 3 games should be interesting.

I thought Id give a short TR of Opening day. Lines werent too long, my longest wait was probably about 20 minutes for the aero 360 ( i got lucky and was one of the first on the exterminator after it opened midday; idk how the line was later on). Also there was no rain, unlike the thunderstorms called by all the weather channels. Bayern Kurve-It looks awesome, especially at night, and is very fun. Unfortunately it wasnt as intense as I remembered it being a few years ago, but then again the last time i rode it i was like 10 so it probably seemed a lot more intense back then. Retracked Phantom- I didnt notice much of a difference until the very end of the retracked section; there is a very jerky transition at the crest of the 2nd hill that threw me to the side a bit and it is NOT pleasant; other then this I didnt feel anything different from last year at any other points of the retracking. Pittfall- Ran all 4 sides for the 1st time in a while today. Some people got stuck about halfway up, so they closed it and began testing it. I got in line right after this and was on the first ride after the tests, and we got stuck at the top. They lowered us down VERY slowly, I mean like 1/8 the speed they raise you at; so I got to see the whole park at night from 300 ft in the air for like 10 minutes total. Freakin coolest Kennywood experience of my life. Overall it was a really good day, probably one of my favorite Kennywood visits in a while.

I know its supposed to rain but does anybody know if theres supposed to be lightning? If not, theyll run the coasters in the rain (I think thats their policy but Im not positive) which I LOVE.

Being that I love heavy metal, Guitar Hero Metallica was my favorite music game so far; and Guitar Hero Smash Hits looks like it might be a must-buy as well. Although Ive heard rumors that Rust in Peace by Megadeth is going to be DLC for Rock Band, which is just pure win in my book.

^Ive gone every year on Opening day for the past 10 years, its typically a little more crowded than normal, but not too much. If at all, the lines are only another 10-15 minutes for the most popular rides. The only one you usually have to wait a really long time for is the Exterminator, and the Phantom line might go down the ramp to where the switchbacks are, but the switchbacks are barely ever used unless its Fright Nights.

What I dont understand is why they are doing a pull through when only the top hat is completed? I thought most parks do it after the whole track is finished?

I went past the park today, but unfortunately I dont have any pics . But from what I could tell, the retracking is complete, unless they havent yet finished the straightaway (which I couldn't see from the road). Also, the main structure for the Bayern Kurve appears to be set up, so it doesnt look like it will be too long before thats finished.

Interesting, but in the second pic, the 3 corkscrews in a row looks pretty suspicious. Im pretty sure B&M's never done that, and they haven't really taken any progressive steps with their sit-downs in awhile.

^ I watched some replays on the internet today, and Im pretty sure it actually WAS a fumble. If you look closely, the ball comes out of Kurt's hand just before he moves his arm forward, but Kurt continues to move his arm as if the ball was still in his hand. Due to most of the tv camera angles, however, it looks as if the ball comes out as his arm moves forward

My picks would be either Metallica or Red Hot Chili Peppers. Although RHCP would be much more likely because they seem to have a wider appeal to most audiences, pretty much everyone I know enjoys them but not many I know enjoy Metallica.

YAAAAY STEELERS!!!! I must say, that was one fo the craziest finishes Ive ever seen. Ill be honest, when Fitz scored that TD with 2 minutes left, I was convinced it was over, I didnt have much faith in the Steelers' Offense to go down the field. But MAN, that was on crazy finish. I was standing and screaming that whole last drive down the field. Kudos to the Cards tho, they played one hell of a game.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire last night, and there was a preview for a new Xmen movie based on the origin of Wolverine. Hmm...I doubt theyd make a coaster of it though for some reason, and If I had to guess Id say this one's going to Carowinds.

Haha, I actually designed a Metallica ride themed to Ride the Lightning like a year ago in No Limits. I made mine sort of a combination of Hulk and Zeppelin. It had a launch into a Zero G followed by a drop, but then had a layout similar to Zeppelin after that.
