  1. ^Im pretty sure he's talking about the whole SFKK Superman Tower of Power fiasco, not whatever happened at SFNE.
  2. I hate to pull out the nerd card here, but there are only three other dragons featured in the Triwizard Tournament, being the Swedish Short-Snout, the Welsh Green, and the Chinese Fireball. Although those would fit the Triwizard theme better, I would like to throw the Norwegian Ridgeback into the ring of possible dragons as well
  3. From Cedar Point's Facebook: "Want the head's up on 2010? Stay tuned...somethin's brewin'!" Looks like we have an announcement coming soon...I may be over analyzing this but the "something's brewin" tells me its going in Frontier Town (it sounds like a wild-west type saying) and will be a water ride themed to a storm. EDIT: ^Lol you beat me by like 5 seconds
  4. ^Yeah you're right, its a Maurer-Sohne. They aren't getting a Premier though, the second one is an Intamin, so this is just Intamin's new style of track I think.
  5. ^I believe the Ferrari park has two coasters, and the one with the same style track as KD's ride is in fact an Intamin. I believe their second coaster is a Premier.
  6. "Dragon Challenge" seems kinda...Cedar Fairish to me. I would have thought IOA could come up with something at least a LITTLE more creative then that.
  7. ^Since Dick Kinzel has stated TTD was the biggest business mistake he has ever made, I HIGHLY doubt they would invest in a double-TTD for Carowinds. If its a racing coaster, I don't think it will be made by B&M or Intamin.
  8. Well, the first time I went to CP I was too scared to ride Wicked Twister because I saw the towers shaking in the wind (I wasn't an enthusiast then so I didn't know they were supposed to.) I have since gotten the credit though. I also never got Head Spin or Steel Venom when I went to Geauga lake, Head Spin because I didn't feel like getting my brains blown out and Steel Venom because it was broken down.
  9. ^It was SOOO much better when it was the Old Mill though...If you have ridden the Old Mill in one of its previous forms then Garfield's Nightmare just seems like an atrocity. Luckily the Garfield contract is *supposedly* up after this year so there's hope they will change it back to something worthy of its former self.
  10. Or they could theme it to a Nascar crash and have a fast launch followed by tons of inversions and fireball effects!!
  11. Keep in mind this is Cedar Fair people. Although a launch would fit the racing theme more we all know they're not going to be that original
  12. LMAO!!... anyways... I totally hope its not a vertical lift, but theres a very large area they are digging up and I can see them putting some type of heavy large supports there for something vertical. I'll draw up another draft soon with a typical lift to see how it turns out. Yeah, Im still with the 45-60 degree lift theory. I think that large hole theyre digging will be for one of the massive support structures for a Giga lift like the large towers on MF's lift.
  13. Im shocked I still havent ridden the one at Kennywood yet (Or any one for that matter). I go there like 5+ times a year; its not that Im scared of it, in fact I REALLY want to ride it. But my friends are always too lazy to get to the park early enough to get tickets for it, and they never feel like shelling out $15 either
  14. Just because MF is the only Giga dosen't mean KD's Giga requires that much space; we are probably looking at a completely different type of layout. I guarantee you the ONLY way this wouldn't be a giga is if Intamin's definition of "Giga Coaster" is different from Cedar Point's definition of a 300+ ft coaster, they are NOT going to put a fake label on just to give the VERY small enthusiast community a false idea. Anyway, I cant believe any of you think they would spend the UNNECESSARY amount of TIME and MONEY to ship and spend WEEKS unloading track at KD only to throw off the enthusiast community; seriously it is COMPLETELY illogical and would be the BIGGEST waste of time, labor, and money in recent amusement park history. Face it, KD is getting that Intamin track; Carowinds could still get an Intamin (although I do think you guys are getting a B&M, but it is unconfirmed) but they are NOT getting what has been unloaded in KD's parking lot.
  15. First of all, make sure you buy your Kennywood tickets at one of the local grocery stores around town called Giant Eagle; they sell tickets for I think $23 while the gate price is $35 (however, Im not sure when Giant Eagle stops selling them, but if you want to save money its worth a shot to stop in there). You dont really need to worry about crowds at Kennywood; its obviously more crowded on the weekends but there are never really lomg lines, the average line is usually only between 5-15 minutes (except the Exterminator, which is typically between 30min-1 hour waits). If you feel like going to a waterpark check out Sandcastle; its no Schlitterbahn but its a nice little waterpark owned by Kennywood and admission is around $20 I think. Its no too far from Kennywood either. Although the Pirates arent exactly the best baseball team , you can get into PNC Park for as low as $9. Its a pretty nice ballpark so if you like baseball its a nice place to visit. Since you mentioned museums, the Carnegie museum in Oakland is pretty good, and theres a Science Center not far from PNC Park which has some pretty cool stuff too; although some of it might seem a little childish it can still be pretty fun and interesting.
  16. S&S Screamin Swings are the most amazing flat rides I have ever been on. Unfortunately the ride cycles are always WAYY too short, and the seats are usually uncomfortable (well, you dont really notice that once the rides starts since youre out of your seat quite a bit ).
  17. Yeah but they built in and around Rolling Thunder Anyway, Im always hoping for new coasters at the Point but Im pretty sure were not gonna see one in this particular clearing. I could maybe see some sort of flat ride or water ride, but as some have said its probably something for Halloween.
  18. Also, the audio is technically theming. Why would the CF we know and love go out of their way for theming?
  19. I know, I dont get why so many people think it will be launched all of a sudden. Those pieces look EXACTLY like MF's cable lift. (Aside from the truss and different track style)
  20. ^^^I wonder what the long pieces of single spine straight track are for. They dont look like theyre for anything special like lifts or brake runs, but that would mean there is a LONG straightaway in the middle of the layout somewhere, unless were gonna have an RCT type drop with a small pullout and a long vertical straightaway
  21. ^I kind of got the impression he was being sarcastic
  22. Oh...my...GOD I want to see a 300 ft rollerskater!!!
  23. Well now that we know Intamin has a new style of track that looks like Vekoma's, I think the the concept of this ride actually being an Intamin is much more believable now. The track in the submitted plans looks sort of like the track for the project at KD.
