The Black Eyed Peas count as a notable artist? I thought you had to be *good* to be considered notable I know a lot of people might not like them, but there's no denying they have been one of the most popular music artists in the past 10 years. Im much more of a classic rock/metal kind of guy myself, but I still like their music. My point was that usually when they throw free concerts like this its some no-name band that noone's ever heard of.

Adding to the topic about HS alumni, I go to the same HS Dan Marino did... Anyways, I cant wait for tomorrow. As if The Steelers playing their first game of the season wasnt awesome enough, the Black Eyed Peas are putting on a free concert downtown that I plan on going to Steelers games and free concerts by NOTABLE artists, I dont think it gets any better than that! Its gonna be INSANELY crowded though I imagine...

A drop?????? A highly doubt the physical structure of a 108 year old ride will be changed. I doubt that too. But to be fair, it DID feature a drop at one point a LONG time ago... Im just really excited to see this finally re-done. I loved it before they changed it into Garfield and I hope they change ti back to something worthy of one of its former incarnations.

Im pretty sure they only make them for Busch Gardens Williamsburg at the moment.

I think the ride looks awesome, it looks to me like a combination of Nitro and Behemoth. I think the zero car themed to Dale Earndhart's car looks great on it too. Now, the real question... what the hell is www.whitelightning.carowinds.com/ for then?

I must say District 9 was amazing, but now I have seen Inglourious Basterds and I am truly not sure which one is the best movie of 2009...they are both INCREDIBLE. Its awesome that this year's two best movies came out within 1 week of each other. GO SEE BOTH OF THEM NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!

I caved in and bought it, but Im not buying another one for a few years. They changed enough this year from '09 to convince me to get it, and Troy Polamalu on the cover only made me want it more So far Im impressed, the graphics are INSANE and the gameplay feels a lot smoother.

I was really hoping he would go to Cleveland for the irony. The "dawg slayer" could play in the "dawg pound" Seriously though, Im glad he got signed. Im one of the few who thinks he should be given a second chance; I honestly think he's changed (I know it's still early after his release, but I imagine two years in jail can change a man, he has Tony Dungy for a mentor who's a great guy, and from what I've seen he seems really honest about all of his regrets). I expect he'll be one of the most feared QB's again within the next few years.

YESS!!!!! I hate that transition, I know a lot of people don't mind it but for me it really bumped the ride experience down a few notches.

I wouldn't worry about that NL rendition, somebody at Kennywood probably downloaded it 2 days before the announcement, got a novice sense of the program and rushed a model of the ride to put out with the press release. Unfortunately I doubt they are going to put out a more accurate model, we're probably just gonna have to watch the construction progress to get a better sense of the layout.

On another note, anyone else wondering where they are going to put the Turnpike when they bring it back? Im really scratching my head on that one unless they remove something

^^^Well, if they were to take out the candy shop and Windmill and utilize some of the land behind it, that would actually give them a pretty sizable chunk of land to work with for some of the alleged coaster. However, I dont see them removing the windmill, and removing the candy shop would mean removing the only lockers (That I know of, at least) at the park, so I dont really see that happening. I cant wait for the announcement Wednesday though, Im excited we might actually get a new coaster and end this 10 year coaster drought!!! I was thinking about going to Knoebels soon because I've never been there, but now I'm scared of running into her there I mean, I feel sorry for her and everything, but I think that would be pretty awkward to go there and seeing her having another "intimate moment" with her new "husband" in public.

Well, theoretically, assuming the "Maverick was designed to be an aquatrax but was changed to a regular coaster" theory is real , isn't it possible that maybe the Point wants to finish what they started and finally build a REAL Aquatrax?
