  1. Tonight for dinner I decided to make Hoppy Holiday beer burgers, using Weyerbacher Hops Infusion Ale as the beer of choice. I think I managed to eat 4 burgers in like 10 minutes. Of course, accompanying the burger was a Hops Infusion. Beer, it goes with anything!
  2. I vote for TPR sock suspenders. Sure to be the hottest selling thing of the holiday, moreso than a Tickle Me Elmo with an Xbox 360 fused into his stomach.
  3. Looks awesome! Hopefully they'll be able to pull off the theming as well in person as they do on paper. I'll definitely try to get there in '07, maybe around the Spain trip
  4. Wow, if I had to hang out in a group of 50 the entire time, I think I'd gnaw off my own legs. Heck, more than 10 people who I know AND like and I start giving Angry Guy a run for his money in the POed department.
  5. Deify- Disturbed
  6. I go to clubs when I accidentally follow hot chicks into them. Normally I don't stay long though, I can stand crowds. If its wall to wall, I'm out the door! I'm still up in the air about techno music. I like remixes of current songs, but not when the original song was 3 minutes long and the remix is 13. I'm more into bars, pubs, and posh hangouts right now, with the occasional live band club every so often, as long as they serve beer I'm good!
  7. I'd stick with cable, specifically digital. Nothing worse than not being able to get a signal when there is bad weather outside. Plus the dish may look stupid on your house, depending on where they tell you it HAS to go for best results.
  8. Hear Me- Kelly Clarkson
  9. Well, something weird happened today, because it was actually warm enough for me to wash my car?! I then realized it was still Autumn, so it was appropriate that I drink a Weyerbacher Autumnfest Ale. Grandma came over to cook me Sunday dinner, and she even joined in the festivities, with one of my "sucker beers", Loyalhanna Lager. Grandma says "will cook for beer" and so I fulfill her request Today I had time to do the laundry, but not my hair. But check out that beer!
  10. Yup, its another boring weekend. Although I'm alone this holiday season, for some reason I still don't have enough funding to travel anywhere until after the new year (stupid new house!). Fortunately, I still have enough money to buy beer! But first, I believe I'll enjoy my beer. You know its soon laundry time when Derek breaks out the Dueling Dragon's sweatshirt Tonight's beer: Weyerbacher Decadence. A Belgian Ale with honey and spices in celebration of 10 years of brewing in Easton.
  11. Last night I headed to my usual Friday spot after work. It was fairly crowded, the entire movie trivia contest was about Ocean's Eleven, and they were giving out samples of Michelob Ultra Amber or something like that. Then it got weird and some Miller Lite chicks were there in referee outfits. I made up a name for some random fat girl, and that actually was her name, so then she spent all night staring at me, and when she left she says, "maybe next time you'll be nicer to me." It was very disturbing, luckily the beers I had were good. Sadly, it was too dark for most of the pictures to come out good, stupid camera phone. It was dark, but here's my impression of a klepto snowman trying to steal my beer. It was a snowing and a sleeting and a icing the other night, so I decided that even though winter was still a few days away, it was a good time to break out the Winter Ale
  12. I like to think of Disneyland as being WDW-lite. Disneyland is smaller than the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, but it manages to have most of the good rides from all of WDW all rolled into it. It also has its own charms, such as the whole New Orleans area, what I think is a better Toontown, and some things that the Magic Kingdom got rid of several years ago. As far as food goes, I think Disneyland has a more unique, wide variety of a selection. When I think of Magic Kingdom, all that comes to mind is hamburgers and McDonald's fries, but at Disneyland, they have steak on a stick, gumbo in bread bowls, sweet pastries, etc. Disneyland may not be as incredible as Walt Disney World, but its still lightyears better than Six Flags, Paramount, or Cedar Fair parks as far as atmosphere, charm, and satisfaction. Just don't visit in the off season when 5-7 of the E-tickets are down for rehab!
  13. As much as I look forward to visiting Japan someday, the coasters don't seem very "incredible", mainly weird and unique. That said, the thing that makes me really want to visit Japan was the dinner picture. The kiddie coaster debacle sounds just like typical ACE behavior...if the lapbar won't click, push harder. No one would ever think, "I'm too freakin' fat to be riding this apparently!"
  14. It also depend big time on when exactly you're going. If you plan on going in the summer during the week, the parks should be a lot less crowded. As others have said, at BGW you should really ride Curse of DarKastle first. Afterwards, head back to Alpengeist and then work your way around to Apollo. Other things you may want to consider riding are the log flume, train, and Escape from Pompeii. At PKD, definitely head to Hypersonic first. Then move on to Volcano, back to Italian Job, and then Drop Zone. Those will be the rides with the longest waits. Grizzly shouldn't have a very long line because no one can find the entrance! Other things besides the coasters to do are the Scooby Doo dark ride, log flume, flying scooters, and the Treasure Cave (tilt house)
  15. I drink because it is my firm belief that the liver is evil and must be punished. I've become a big beer person, but I really can't stand too many of the American Domestic beers because I don't really feel they have much of a taste, too much watered down, most flavoring being malt, nowhere near enough hop. If I go out and they don't have a beer I like (call me a beer snob), and I'm dead set on having alcohol, I'll usually go for some sort of foo foo (normally only like margarita, pina colada, LI Iced Tea, Bloody Mary, or something citrusy.) One of them usually costs way more than 3 beers, so I'm fine with one.....knowing that I'm going home where good beer resides.
  16. Congrats dude! Though I must say, it kinda looks like you're going to school at Hogwarts. What a fine young wizard you'll make, Mr. Lupus!
  17. The other night I had one of my favorite hoppy IPAs, Weyerbacher's Hops Infusion. Beer says, "I look totally hotter than Nrthwnd in this Mickey hat!"
  18. Yeah I think I've drained as much out of the "big" parks as I could. I believe the only major parks I've yet to hit in the US are in NoCal, and then Canada's Wonderland. I think the most credits I got out of 1 park this year was 6 from Michigan's Adventure. Every other park I visited this year had like 2-5 coasters. Looking back at previous years, this is my whoring rundown: 1984-1 1988-1 1991-3 1992-1 1994-1 1995-1 1996-12 1997-8 1998-14 1999-108 2000-59 2001-48 2002-121 2003-62 2004-5 2005-71 2002 was the year of the Europe trip, 1999 was the year I really got into it and hit all sorts of parks on the east coast as well as Texas and Florida.
  19. 2005 wasn't a big travel abroad year for me, nor was it the highest credit year, but it was an all around excellent year as far as coasters go. With vacation days not as excessive as in previous years thanks to no longer being a student, I was forced to make a lot of weekend trips. My year started off on January 1 in Orlando, visiting WDW with my then girlfriend. First ride of the year was on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. In March I headed out to California to meet up with Robb, Elissa, Dan, and Joey, where I finally rode Bad Mummy along with Silver Bullet, some Disneyland stuff, and 2 visits to SFMM, where we were among the first to discover Tatsu planning. Several hundred dollars worth of Marie Calendar's pies later, I had enough funds again to start the official coaster season with a driving weekend trip to Carowinds, then 2 weeks later at Knoebels for opening day. Starting in May, I would go straight thru until July 9th weekend visiting at least 1 park a week. From the disappointment that was Hydra, a weekend visit to Dollywood, Wildwood, a failed attempt at Kingda Ka, New Hampshire, Florida, as well as finally getting to Idlewild, Williams Grove, and Del Grossos, it was a busy couple of weeks. Over July 4th I would finally get to a park I had always wanted to visit, Silver Dollar City. After taking a weekend off and realizing how boring doing nothing could be, I was back on the circuit, with visits to Hersheypark, Dorney, Seaside, and finally getting launched on Kingda Ka. Then it was off to Wisconsin to meet up with TPR and go to Hades, followed by the next week heading up to Maine for Funtown Fest. Just when you thought I couldn't get any more random, it was off to Michigan's Adventure the following week. (Being 25 and finally able to rent a car without paying dumb fees is great!) Taking a breather over Labor Day, the following weekend was off to Clementon, then back to SFGAd for more Ka. Then I was down to Busch Gardens Williamsburg with Coaster Team for some Great Wolf Lodge as well. Afterwards was another weekend at SFGAd, then a very wet PPP, followed by Dorney, a weekend of hurricane dodging in Orlando, and then Halloween at Dorney. Taking a couple of weeks off because everything was finally closed, I ended my season with a weekend at the newest Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos, then flying out to LA and hitting Vegas (finally!) and then more Disneyland for its 50th, before buying a house and moving in. Statistically, this year I: Had 91 park visits to 58 different parks, 26 of them being new to me. The park I visited the most was Dorney Park with 7 visits. My coaster count at the beginning of the year was 445, and as of right now, its 516. I visited 8 new for 2005 coasters, rode 71 new to me coasters, 57 of which were steel, and 14 were wood. My steel count is 402, and my wood count is 114. Not too shabby for only having 10 days vacation. Next year looks to be about the same as of now, but with more emphasis on overseas trips, one of them being the TPR UK trip, the other a visit to Oktoberfest. Other definites are WDW, HW, BB, as well as all the local good stuff. Though I may end up at some other places as well.
  20. Yellowcard- Lights and Sounds Attention Elissa: New album released January 24
  21. HIM- Wings of a Butterfly
  22. Last night at our company Christmas party they had an open bar. Sadly, no one liked my suggestions as far as beer went. Ended up with Coors Lite and Yuengling lager on tap, and Corona, Heineken, Molsen Golden, Bud Lite, and Budweiser in bottles. I chose to celebrate Canadian style. An amaretto sour, buttery nipple, white Russian, lemon drop, 2 jager bombs, and 3 of these later I was doing the worm.
  23. Great, I'm without internet for a week and more and more of Coaster Team FINALLY steps up to bat. Good to see you here, Adam and Tom. Sorry I didn't go with to CCL, but I was busy packing.....and was just in sunny, warm SoCal earlier in the week See you guys soon!
  24. I also voted for #4, with its landscaping and trees, you'll have a nice cooler summer, and overall charm. Sucks to be you though in the Fall, cleaning up all those leaves. Oh well, just another reason to drink! On a similar note, I just bought a house, doing all the final moving tomorrow. Corner lot 1 car garage 2 floors 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms hardwood floors 1483 sq ft 0.2 acres basement finished.....with bar! $134,000
  25. I really can't stand Christmas, all the money I blow on people who either don't deserve what I give them or don't understand what I give them, the awful music heard for a good 30 days straight, and a good portion of the movies that are just way too sappy. The ones I do like though are: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation- just because The Year Without a Santa Claus- Four words; heat miser, snow miser! Mickey's Christmas Carol- its Disney
