  1. Celebrating my new promotion to Pharmacy Manager, I break out the Victory beers. Here's to more money! First, the newest, the Alt
  2. Yes, as mentioned, its now the Magic Your Way pass. Basically, if you know there is 1 day you won't be there, you don't have to get a pass for that many days. The more days you get, the cheaper the ticket price.
  3. Time for another beer from Great Divide, the last one I have from Heath. Hot Shot ESB was pretty much like every other ESB I've had, its pretty much as light as I'll go, though this one also had the screwed up super-foam head. It must be from the change in altitude. It was just an "meh" beer. But thanks for the brews, Heath! No, that is not whipped cream on top of my beer
  4. I'm thinking in 2007 we'll have the new BGW coaster, CPs Flyer, a few relocated SFAW coasters, another Euro-fighter, maybe a booster bike, and the already announced stuff hitting Spain, Florida, and Japan. 2007 is shaping up to be a great year for coasters, and the 2006 season hasn't even fully started yet!
  5. No Solace for me after all. Turns out I forgot I switched my Friday of hospital rounds to this week and the stupid airline charged too much to change it around a day. Oh well, I'll just use that time to head out when Tatsu is finished. I wasn't really planning on going to Knott's anyway, just to DLR, WCB, and the TPR party, and I can do that next time they have one!
  6. I'm actually somewhat looking forward to riding an SLC with a different layout, so this should be entertaining! As far as parks being opened year round, not every park has to be, but some parks are opened for special times of year, like Dollywood and Hershey are semi-open for Christmas. While I haven't been to either of these yet, I know lots of people who have, especially to the Hershey one (granted, they're all local, about an hour away, but still, they went in the winter!) While they may not have any of the coasters opened, they could. You can't tell me that the Chance manual for The Claw says it can operate in temps below freezing, but the Vekoma boomerang who has identical installations in like Japan cannot, even though their counterparts run. To me there is little difference in wind chill between spinning around on The Claw and going down a hill and into a loop. Even if some parks only opened 1/3 of the area and like 5 rides along with some ice skating, hot chocolate, lights, sledding, etc, I bet they'd get attendance, especially when its really nice outside.
  7. So I've been fighting a bug the last couple of days. Yesterday I couldn't keep anything down, so I didn't even bother trying a beer, didn't want to waste good stuff. Today I'm a little better, so its time to go back on the bottle! Chicken soup as the food, HopDevil as the beverage My medication, "Take 12oz of HopDevil at least once a day as needed"
  8. ^Yeah it was a BRUTAL winter! I mean, with that storm a few weeks ago dropping like 15 inches, that brought our winter snow total to....15 inches! Below freezing temperatures too, because its NOT like snowing and freezing over in England right now, whereas here they want temps near 70 come next Saturday.
  9. Dude that's great! Poor Chunk, all that dancing and he still doesn't lose the weight!
  10. After seeing it snowing, I'm really jealous of you guys and annoyed at American parks for not being opened. It didn't look as insanely crowded at Blackpool as last week, but there was still people there and it was snowing!!! What exactly did that girl do to hold up the line for 30 minutes, was she making a British Porn?
  11. They could be rehabbing the trains to make it more appealing if they sold Python to some 3rd World amusement park. Or maybe they'll just sell 1 train, and then use the other one for parts for Loch Ness Monster. I don't think B&M will ever do a launched coaster, too problematic for them to want to put their name on. What ever BGT gets coasterwise again, it will probably be good, like their last 3 B&Ms. Or maybe it won't even be a coaster, it could perhaps be their own version of DarKastle.
  12. I don't really pay attention to the Oscar's because I really almost never see the films that win. Most of the time though the winner I at least heard of, unlike the other nominees that more than likely I will have never heard of the movie, seen a preview for it, and can't even say I honestly even saw that it was in the theaters. As with most of Hollywood, the biggest thing will be who is wearing what on the red carpet. Hope some of the hotties be looking good tonight!
  13. ^Its been mentioned about once a page so far in this thread, but to save you the trouble of looking and to save Elissa the trouble of typing it again, I'll just quote her: I'm sure by the end of May all the details will be available for everyone living in the UK who are interested in joining us when they can.
  14. I'm anxious to see what this thing will look like when its complete. I'm also curious if they're going to change anything about the trains or the station knowing the problems X had in the past.
  15. "Bottom of a bottle"- Smile Empty Soul
  16. After a brief stint in Kutztown, we stopped off local for me, at Canal Street, home of Legacy In short, it was another great beer drinking weekend. Bring on the coaster season! Derek breaks it down with the pilsner he was born in, the Reading Pils Afterwards, he has enough motivation to try the Nor'Easter Stout, which he enjoys! Heath enjoys a phone call with the East Coast Beer Rep, Tom Smith! Later Heath enjoys the Euphoria, Legacy's Belgian They've got plenty to choose from I kick it back with a Triple H (Heavy Handed Hops) for a starter Rugged One likes the Hedonism, heavy in hops for a Red! Thank goodness they have a sign, its dark outside and I've had a couple beers tonight, I don't know where we are!
  17. after Stoudt's, the crew enjoys a surprisingly great visit to Kutztown! Home of Golden Avalanche, which just sounds dirty! Luckily this sign was around to tell me to have hope for the future! But I was sad, because I couldn't break the seal... Kutztown Tavern is much better than both of us thought it would be! Kim doesn't seem too pleased yet with the Winter Bock...give her a year before you judge her Derek then breaks out the "barrel aged burbon barrel stout", which is too much for him to handle on such short notice! While Heath tries the Onyx Cream Stout Derek enjoys an Olde Brick Alt They've got plenty of homebrews and others on tap! Kutztown Tavern is nearby the University and is also home to Golden Avalanche Brewing We've got Rock Star Parking, giddidy, giddidy!
  18. :In conjunction, Rugged One and I present: "The 222 Brew Tour!" First stop, Stoudt's in Adamstown... Derek stops thinking about his actions, and enjoys a Double IPA! meanwhile, Heath enjoys a Fat Dog Stout, something he didn't like last time round. My how times have changed! After his Oktoberfest, fresh from a new keg, Derek wonders if his last beer put him in an awkward position... and Derek inserts the obligatory "Ellen eats a sausage picture" bockworst meal picture Heath has a crab calzone... We move on to the restaurant, where Kim has a pizza The Brew Crew poses with the owner of Stoudt's, Ed Stoudt after the tour Lancaster County's version of Wally works hard on a Saturday Rugged One is such a "Coaster Enthusiast", isn't not even funny! I enjoy a blonde double mai bock as well Stoudt's has plenty of stuff on tap year round Before the tour, Heath enjoyed a Mai Bock (with his eyes closed) This is Stouts, where we started off our day
  19. Wow, that looks like an amazing hotel. Glad someone managed to get that hotel for us for 3 nights on the UK trip. I never thought I'd want the last thing I see before I go to sleep and the first thing when I wake up to be an Arrow coaster, but those pictures changed my mind! Hope you guys have fun. Is there snow at Blackpool? and whats the temp there? Stupid US parks!
  20. Yeah, the East wins with more quantity and quality, but then again the East doesn't have to build to accommodate earthquakes and that Californian lifestyle. If you make a coaster with too much airtime, you could lose your cell phone, and then you won't get that callback from the casting company. I still like the West coast's selection, especially SoCal, and try to visit at least once a year, but Florida's selection is far superior! Too bad all the good wood is either up north or way down south!
  21. Rugged One, his wife, and I are on our way for the weekly offseason beer tour, this time to Stoudt's, Legacy, and possible Golden Avalanche. Update and photos later! And my bug is mostly all gone, so plenty of beers for me!
  22. I've been craving some German sampler platter, especially the potato salad, as well as ribs for a good couple of weeks. Lucky us the season starts up in a few weeks. I can't wait to eat there, oh yeah, and ride some coasters or something.
  23. Wow, hard to believe how fast this day is approaching. Good luck with the final days in Germany and have a safe flight. See you in a few weeks, maybe I'll even buy a stein off of you
  24. "Confession"- Cold
  25. That's terrific! Though if the centerpiece is supposed to be the station, I'm kinda worried about what kind of coaster it will be. I could see them getting a dive machine, it'd be the first in the north, and could spark the dive machine revolution.
