  1. ^Yes, please say more. All I see is someone standing in front of Dueling Dragons. I know not who that someone is, what they are doing, or why they are doing it.
  2. In honor of Robb and the newly found half-Robb... "Run To The Hills" - Iron Maiden
  3. I don't know what my favorite would be. I guess the order would be: 1. Boardwalk- great location, everything good right there (and a microbrewery!) 2. Wilderness Lodge- Cool theme, not too bad in price 3. Grand Floridian- Beautiful resort, easy to get to Epcot and Magic Kingdom, little too expensive though (unless I'm trying to impress someone who will most likely break up with me 2 weeks later) 4. Coronado Springs- very pretty, spread out, and fairly priced. I'll be staying here next month 5. Animal Kingdom Lodge- neat to be near the animals, great theme, far from everything but Animal Kingdom The only hotels I haven't stayed at yet are Yacht and Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, and Polynesian and Contemporary
  4. Wow, this sounds like a cool event (even without tents and beer!) Theme Park Review gets all the cool perks. Wish I had the time off to go, I'd totally be there. Hope everyone has a great time!
  5. After finally installing side window deflectors on my car that I got for Christmas, I was in need for a beer. (yeah, that's the reason!) For some unknown reason, I was thinking about a Thunderhead IPA all day. I don't know if it was because I was listening to "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC, the forecast calling for thunderstorms, or something else. OK, I now know why I wanted this beer all day, because its good! ('sgoooood!) Fine, with no will power, I gave into the temptation that's been haunting me since 7am Mmmmm, why do I keep thinking about Thunderhead IPA?? What beer should I drink tonight!? And where in the world IS Carmen SanDiego!??
  6. Happy birthday old time hippy Canuckehead! You may make Jeff feel young, but you're still cooler than he is, and will probably live longer.
  7. Wow, when I first saw this I was like "I am?" Talk about bringing a topic back from the dead! Yeah, we didn't ride X because I had been on it plenty of times in the past and I didn't feel like waiting for it. Even if I did get there at opening, I wouldn't run right to it. I'll save it for ERTs only from now on. Now if I could only get that darn Deja Vu to open when I'm there one of these years!
  8. I like the S&S new restraints as found on Powder Keg. Don't know how heavy they'd make a wood coaster train though. I also don't mind the Giovanola restraints as found on Goliath SFMM and Titan SFOT. If Intamin went more like that I wouldn't be bothered too much. They hopefully won't be like the Gerstlauer trains as found on some CCIs, though with Intamin I don't think the twister section will be anything but smooth with nice transitions.
  9. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is definitely my favorite. Great classic rides, loads of them, and now some current cutting edge stuff. I also like Alton, but I'd jump the pond to go to Blackpool more than any other park.
  10. Wonder if PKD will just block off more of the midway for the go-carts. They've already got plenty of blacktop down for them!
  11. My first coaster of 2006 was also the first new coaster of 2006 for me, Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Good fun way to start off the season. Not too thrilling, but loads of fun and another great ride for Disney.
  12. "Poison"- Alice Cooper
  13. As someone in the medical field, as well as a HopDevil advocate and provider of the beverage, I shall not and will not be held responsible for the actions the peristalsis enhancer, carbonation, and fiber will have on each other and your entrails and other innards. I will, however, take great enjoyment in watching this sitcom play out. Next time you decide to do this though, make sure your house is set up for wifi so you can keep us updated from the throne as it takes its course!
  14. Its no worse than a Volare (if that's saying anything). I'd usually give it a courtesy ride if it was opened. Every once in a while I'd ride it and have a good ride. I'd come back into the station all happy and cheering and the ops would allow me to reride (since there wasn't a line in the offseason). Coming back into the station the second time I'd usually have sore ears and a headache. It'd be interesting if the whole reason it was closed was for it to receive new trains. Maybe Premier could come up with something if Intamin, Giovanola, or B&M wouldn't want to touch it with a 10 foot pole.
  15. I don't think too highly of any of the Arrow suspendeds because of their pacing issues. Of them though, I'd say my favorite is Ninja. Big Bad Wolf is fun, but the big drop brake and the total stop before the second lift really annoys me. At least with Ninja, the entire ride is well paced and out of control. While it ends lamely with the 2nd lift, I almost prefer that to if the ride did the 2nd lift for another 40 feet or so and then did some sort of weird drop back into the station. While it doesn't seem to be complete, its more complete than adding another minute of lifthill for 5 seconds of coasting. Plus I love Ninja's use of the terrain and hill.
  16. I've been on all but the 2006 ones, and by far my favorite is Thunderhead (no, not because it shares its name with a really good IPA!). My second favorite would be Ozark Wildcat, not on the poll. Fortunately, I'll get to ride the 2 new ones within the next 3 months, and I'm not even a GCI fanboy!
  17. Hooray! Non German Tom made it back to Non Germany! Now you have better had ridden the front seat of Blizzrock or there will be some serious reprocussions come June. Back to the off topic at hand though, forget sending Erik money for a new pimp jacket, let's all send money to Nicole so she can move to Florida so we can check her out in shorts and tank tops all year long (especially during those cold nights!)
  18. Almost forgot tonight I've been so busy! I decided to take after Wally and have another Pyramid, this time Apricot Weizen for the evening. And it hits its mark! Ooooh, smells apricotty I wonder if they have apricots on Lost island?
  19. You guys gotta remember, Erik lives in Florida, where he uses a jacket like 4 days a year. 1982-2006, 24 years at 4 days a year = 96 days total. That's less than I wear a jacket in a season! He's just trying to get his moneys worth. I'm sure Erik will get a new jacket (or break out the bedazzler on it soon!) he's probably just waiting for the ThemeParkReview jacket to come out. I hear it will be the finest letterman's jacket, and Erik's will even come with the moderator accent!
  20. "Other Light"- Finger Eleven
  21. 100 Acres isn't that much, and its way aways from the actual developed areas of WDW. Its not like you're going to be riding the skyride and look over and see Bob Smith mowing his grass. (of course, part of that is because there is no skyride). If you want them to hide the "warehouse" portion of Expedition Everest, they gotta find money somewhere!
  22. I'll be at Great Adventure on Sunday, but only until the bars open at lunchtime. The amount of free tickets given away scare me too much to stay for a whole opening weekend, so I'll pick the colder day and hope lots of people go to church instead.
  23. Well considering Joe is very much in the know with the person who created the rendering, chances are he actually saw pictures of the trains. Of course, that actual rendering above looks much like the other Intamin woodies from what I can see. I'd imagine the trains were changed to more of the Superman at SFNE type restraints because of that accident. If Joe says the restraints are changed, I'd put my money on what he says. You'll all see for yourselves in another 18 months when the coaster is finally finished. Go New Jersey Unions!
  24. I was Guinness, but I *hardly* consider that the best beer in the world. The funniest part was the question that asked where I'd most like to do a pubcrawl. I had to think which city would have the most microbreweries!
  25. I've got lemons, and I can only think of one thing to do with them....Pyramid Hefe Weizen! Squeeze the lemon, drop it in, and you better believe it! Will it be as good as the one on Saturday? Continuing with the Pyramid theme, now with lemon!
