  1. Gary - I thought I saw you at HP on Saturday but didn't say anything, thinking it must not be you. I didn't realize you moved your Hershey visit from Sunday to Staurday.
  2. Oh shoot, I mistyped that. You are right they were allowing re-rides on B:TR, I just didn't happen to take advantage of the re-ride. Sorry for the confusion.
  3. I have never seen the park this empty in such nice weather. 12 rides on El Toro in one hour, many being re-rides. Just like last Sunday the park opened with two trains on El Toro but pulled one off after a couple of cycles due to extremely light crowds. Then I walked over and got 5 in a row on Nitro in the back row without leaving the row. Nitro was running 3 trains and two of the three had people only in the front and back row. Batman The Ride - walk-on with re-rides allowed (Edited as re-rides were allowed) Bizarro - walk-on with re-rides allowed Skull Mountain - walk-on with re-rides allowed
  4. I'm at the park right now and it's packed, mainly because of the extremely cheap price for STITP, I've been talking to a lot of people and that along with the weather made them come out today. As far as the rides, 4 days ago I thought Fahrenheit and Great Bear would be closed so to see both running even if Great Bear only has one car is better than expected. Although those operations with half empty trains on Friday is troublesome. A ride op did mention that only one of Great Bear's train was inspected at this point. The Comet line did look insane, but for some reason it is always longer than it should be. Operations on Storm Runner (45 - 1 hour) and Fahrenheit (60-75 minutes) were a little slow but nothing ridiculously horrible. Wildcat had a 25 minute wait midday and Lightning Racer was never more than a 4 train wait. Food stands were packed during lunch hour, but my family planned to snack at 11 and eat at 3PM so we were fine. A single rider line at Fahrenheit would have been nice to get one more ride in after my family left. All in all I got my $25 worth today. Lastly, I didn't see any line cutting today, surprisingly.
  5. Why, do you think everyone is lying.
  6. Ahhh...I didn't realize they were hired by the park to do that. Awesome. I wish Carowinds would have hired them also. TPR did great work on this new coaster with their coverage. I just want to make it clear that KD didn't as much "hire" us but we offered our video production services for the media day event. We had three people on this job (Myself, Clint, and Will) and we all worked very hard for about two days prior to the event to make it all happen. --Robb My apologies for misrepresenting the awesome "work" you all did for the event.
  7. ^and^^ Die, Die, Die! I vow to not have a bad picture of me taken on this year's Europe Trip. Yeah, that will last for 5 minutes. and Divv - What ever happened to the collage of photos you Brits were going to make of me from the Irish Pub in Helsinki? Oh no, why did I just ask about that.
  8. I know Elissa/Wes answered the question, but maybe Carowinds doesn't like Robb. Of course I'm just joking with that comment, also. Remember Robb is working at KD filming for the park, so KD hired Robb, and Carowinds didn't. TPR is a website, tour operator and video/production company. Robb and Elissa will be including Carowinds as part of a TPR Tour for the 2nd year in a row, TPR Management doesn't hate Carowinds or B&M. Anyone who believes they hate Carowinds or B&M is SUPER DUMB!
  9. I look at it this way, there have always been two forces against each other, even if we never know which side is bad or which is good. Losties vs Others Jack (Science) vs Locke (Faith) Others vs Dharma Freighter vs Losties/Others Ben vs Widmore Jacob vs Man in Black So the introduction of Jacob/MIB doesn't bother me. What I still don't understand is if Jacob brought everyone to the island, and we recently learned that Richard was to be a advisor teaching the newcomers the right way, then how does the DHARMA initiative fit in? It appears they were always at odds which Richard and the others, they knew how to build a fence to keep Smokey out. Who was behind bringing them to the island and why were they there and how come they continued to get food drops after they were destroyed and how did the food drop plane find the island?
  10. No, it's a generic name. Like Luna Park, Adventureland
  11. I suggest you not "waist" the Title Fairy's time.
  12. After my fabulous cheese steak it was still light out and I realized that I had time to drive up to Jenkinson's Pier. Jenkinson's is only about 10 miles north of Seaside Heights, but the drive could take well over an hour during the summer. However, in the off-season only 25 minutes. Jenkinson's is more family oriented, so not nearly as sleazy as Seaside Heights. That also means a lot of the rides at Jenkinson's are tamer than the Seaside parks. The batteries on my camera were dying so I didn't take at photos of the smaller boardwalk. On to the pictures: Before leaving Seaside I noticed some old pictures of Casino Pier on the wall near the carousel I'm guessing these pictures are from the 1960's. and Elvis was standing guard in front of the restrooms. Leaving Seaside I passed by the Police Department where Ronnie (from The Jersey Shore) got to spend a night. 30 minutes later, I have arrived. I spy a powered coaster behind this sign. You can check out the ride list and prices while sanitizing your hands. Best Frog Hopper EVER! Yes, it really is crooked, this is not a reflection of my poor photo taking. Look they have a SCAD tower! All the chairs fell off the Wave Swinger so it was closed. A small train circles the half of the park containing the kiddie rides. Why did Erik have to post a Gatorland PTR today? I can't compete with that. What would this ride be like on the moon? If you want to see more ride photos check out the Park Index. In my opinion this is main reason to visit Jenkinson's. Probably the best permanent Fun House in the US, but not as good as the ones in Scandinavia I took a slight detour through Asbury Park, but neglected to take a picture of the still standing Casino building that used to house some classic rides years ago. Instead you get the famous Stone Pony popularized by Bruce Springsteen. This is Asbury Park Tillie, not the killer whale. APTillie resembles both Coney Island Tillie and TPDave but they are all different. Tillie was originally painted on the side of the indoor Palace Amusements park, that was closed in the 1980's and torn down in 2004. He now resides on the side of a bar.
  13. No, they don't have to pay. SFGAdv has a designated pick-up/drop-off area.
  14. Thanks for the insights. Although I probably won't make it out to Dollywood this year I'm happy to see one of these finally installed in an American park. Oh, and I have pictures to add to the Park Index.
  15. 14 out of 20, and somehow most of the ones I got right were not guesses.
  16. For which SF park do you have a season pass? The parking option can only be added the your season pass at the park where your season pass is issued since your parking status gets printed on your season pass. If your season pass is from SFA, I suggest you bring the SFGAdv parking ticket with you to SFA tomorrow and see if they can either cancel/refund that transaction or apply the cost of the parking ticket to your season pass.
  17. I attempted to do most of the Shore parks from Morey up to Seaside back in 2005, but made the error of stepping into the Showboat Casino after the Steel Pier and never completed the trip.
  18. I'm just not convinced a park in this location could not work. As a $200 Million investment, the investors would be unlikely to ever recuperate their money. But I have to believe someone knowledgable and with a history of smart decisions could make the park profitable on an annual basis.
  19. The ABC affiliate in New York City is promoting this as a lead-in to their 11PM news. How about doing some real reporting?
  20. Looks awesome to me, I hope it opens on time so I can ride in July. Yes, I'm selfish like that.
  21. Great thread Cameron! Sea Battle and Burgertime rule! I still have my Intellivision stored in my mom's basement, I wonder if it would still work. I don't have the original console, and the later version of the console didn't play the Activision games which blew since Carnival was my favorite game of all time. Yes, Sea Battle was awesome. It only took me 2 years to figure out how to work the Mine Sweeper. I also loved Astrosmash.
  22. ^Jay, even though you don't know me, you know your Seaside Heights food. I choose Midway for a cheese steak. On the walk between Casino Pier and Funtown Pier you pass dozens of stores and booths set up for games of chance. These offer a chance to buy or win amazing stuff. Oh and don't believe everything you read on the Internet. Funtown Pier's website listed the park as opening on March 27th. Well the ticket booth was open selling discount tickets, but the rides were not open. Therefore, I wasn't able to get a lot of close-ups of the rides. Unfortunately the cold weather kept all the freaky people off the boardwalk. Oh yeah, before I forget, this is the entrance to Funtown Pier. That's my chessesteak being prepared. Stop drolling! Although it is not a majestic as the Giant Wheel at Morey Piers, Sam the Eagle says it is A Salute to All Nations, But Mostly America. Kid Tums friendly. Jolly, Jolly, Jolly! The bumper cars did a little too much fist pumping last night. Tornado is another ride that is not a stranger to Jersey Shore parks. The only coaster shot in this update; if you don't like it visit the park yourself. This is one of the worst darkrides ever built, I'm surprised that Nickledeon authorized this. Just like Casino Pier, Funtown Pier also has an indoor carousel, just not an historic one. Also, next to the Carousel is this awesome video arcade. Giant size Frenzy or Berzerk (I can't remember which) Spy Hunter, YES! Back on the boardwalk I find wonderful merchandise like this t-shirt. But then I find this beauty and I have to have it. It is at a game where you have to throw a football through moving tires. The barker says it is $5 for 5 footballs and two footballs through the tires wins the t-shirt. I'm usually very good at this game and fork over $5 but get only one football through. I pluck down another $5 for five more football and the barker taunts me saying I could just buy the t-shirt for $20. Now I'm determined to win the shirt, but have 3 footballs rim out. I pluck $5 more down and win the prize and hit a 3rd bullseye, which wins this prize plus an additional stuffed animal for my niece. Next up is Jenkinson's Pier.
  23. Not only as a smartallic , but also a complete dork!
  24. You can actually see the "terrorist" in the left hand side of the booth. This a typical guy (not of Middle Eastern descent) wearing a lot of padding and goggles. He walks back and forth behind obstacles, hiding from the shooters. Some shooters just aim for Osama Bin Laden's picture or other targets instead. Did you know that there are 26 coasters operating at the 10 amusements along the Jersey Shore, and 2 more powered coasters?
