  1. So they don't have to hire people with funny voices to be characters?
  2. We can see the slingshot right next to it, so we know they were showing a clip of what the Scream Zone will be. No we don't know for sure that they will get a Volare, but since we do know for sure that two new custom coasters will be in the park and since it is in the video, we're assuming that one will be a Volare. OK, I got you now. I thought you were referring to this year. I also forgot about the second plot of land on the other side of Deno's Wonder Wheel Park.
  3. ^^ and ^^^ where are you getting your info from, the video? No one is quite certain why the Volare appears at the end of the video, as only the family coaster and mouse have been confirmed in the past. The video shows the whole layout of the park and there is no Volare.
  4. Here's the scorecard, as best as I can tell: Losties that are together: Hugo*, Jack*, Kate, Sawyer* Newly Missing: Ben, Miles, Richard Missing for a while: Rose, Bernard Possibly missing/dead: Lapidus (I'm guessing he is still alive and will fly the plane off the island in the end) In the well: Desmond With Locke: Claire With Widmore: Zooey (possibly more cronies) Scattered on island (more of Locke's followers) Recently dead main characters: Sun, Jin, Sayid Am I forgetting anyone? *indicates living candidate Maybe Locke can't become the Smoke Monster when wet and that's why Sawyer had Jack push him in the water. Locke did mention to Sawyer that he can't cross water and that's why he needs a boat. Who knows at this point? I have no idea why he wastes time changing into the Smoke Monster to kill people, except maybe he can move quicker. I'm still confused with some past issues, why were the others were split into two groups; some living in Dharmaville with Ben and the rest living in primitive form with Dogen at the temple. I guess someone had to protect the Temple at all times. Why was Dharma still making food drops after the initiative was killed off? That still makes no sense to me. How/why did Ben have the ability to summon the Smoke Monster if Ben was on Jacob's side? I'm sure people have other burning questions and hopefully the writers kept a scorecard of unanswered questions.
  5. If that's what Will Koch said, then he is mistaken.
  6. Also, if you stay at a hotel within walking distance of the Fun TimeTrolley Depot (Patriot Park) you can save on parking. www.pigeonforgetrolley.org/dollywood.html
  7. Yes, you can get the walkback if you bought your Cedar Fair platinum pass at another park. I'm not sure about bringing a friend, though (KD's Web site doesn't address this). I don't think you can bring a friend. I'm pretty sure there was a group right behind us that tried to do that and was denied.
  8. ^thanks Brian - I was going to post something similar, as I also looked into this option a couple of years ago.. Lake Express Schedule
  9. I think this is what you still don't understand. No one has a money tree in their corporate backyard. The old Six Flags didn't have the money and the new Six Flags doesn't have the money. They both have DEBT, albeit a little less than before. Throwing money at a problem doesn't necessarily solve it. They can't not make big capital improvements unless they results in greater revenue. No park deserves or is entitled to a new ride/attraction just because they have been waiting for a awhile. As a whole Six Flags has come a long way in the past couple of years in the area of greatly improving the look of their parks. Seriously, the bathrooms at SFGAdv are consistently cleaner than those I have seen at any park in the past year. That might not be a big deal to the average enthusiast, but it is a huge deal in drawing in more people. Parks make more money by bringing in a family for a day versus selling a season pass to an enthusiast and there are a lot more families than enthusiasts. My best friends are not enthusiasts, the husband (who loves amusement park food) actually won't ride anything because of motion sickness and one of their daughters is in a wheelchair and unable to ride. This family of 4 bought season passes to SFGAdv the past two years, something they never would have considered 5 years ago with the state the park was in. The able bodied daughter brings friends with her, this results in even more revenue for the park. The friend's family now frequents the park. That is how to grow business. Six Flags needs to continue what they have been doing for the past couple of years. Hopefully with a smaller debt load they can right the ship and address major capital improvements chainwide without falling back into unmanageable debt. But this may take time and as enthusiasts we need to be patient.
  10. Chuck - you did get a good photo of the slack in the cable on Woodstock's Gliders when I was riding. For the record, I only ate 27 of the chicken nuggets, some loser that was not me ate the remaining 9 nuggets. So over the course of a 28 hour period I ate: 8 Chick N Minis 8 Chicken Strips 27 Chicken Nuggets
  11. Yes I owned them pre-bankruptcy. I checked my portfolio this afternoon and it said all my stocks were valued at $0.00. OUCH! I understand that they have been diluted but I am not sure if they are still worth anything, even if that anything is just a fraction of $.01. Larry do you know that answer to that? In some articles today I read that common shares are worth $0, nada, bupkus, zilch. I wouldn't be surprised to see a class action lawsuit in the future, just because there are law firms that specialize in these situations. But I wouldn't count on more than a couple of cents a share if anything. More than likely nothing though.
  12. My thoughts on the topic: If it is a 3 followed by 2 zeroes, that is $300. If it is a 3 followed by 1 zero, that is $30. $30 is a better bargain than $300.
  13. Bummer that you missed Hellcat it's one of my faves, good thing you will be returning. Good job for your first trip report with photos.
  14. It was in my ROTH IRA so I have 25 years to make up for that mistake.
  15. So the park can't build a wall like they do alongside highways in proximity to houses?
  16. Shane - sorry to hear you were one of those stuck holding the bag. I sold at 19 cents, so I only lost $14,000 or so.
  17. No, you do not have to be a member to go on TPR trips. However, to continue posting on TPR you do need to follow the Terms of Service you agreed to when joining the site. Please read these over again. No skimming this time! Terms of Service
  18. Is anybody "normal"?
  19. Bacon makes everything, including paper towels, taste better.
  20. I loved that video also, but I do not miss the screaming girls.
  21. Exactly. The new owners/board should be trying to make money to continue bringing improvements. The park attendees should not be treated as a charity case. Season Passes should be priced 3 times the cost of a single day admission. If you can't afford a season pass, then don't buy one and just visit the park once each year. If your park is worth it, buy the season pass. If people start paying $120 for a season pass it would not be unreasonable to expect 10% discounts on food in the park or an expansion of the Funatics program.
  22. I had a great day today, my 1st visit to the park in 5 years. While Intimidator is not my favorite Beemer, it's a very solid ride that I wouldn't kick out of bed. Pufferish and the rest of his crew were pumping riders through the queue very efficiently. My favorite part of the day was on Woodstock Gliders. I didn't realize how much the ride ops promoted snapping. I had an awesome tub bouncing experience where I could hear a bunch of teenagers screaming that I was their hero after my run.
